Hi,
I have an open array which worked for the pathfinder series, I now have a C120 classic, Is there any way to upgrade the software or system board to make it compatible with the C120 Classic series? I have seen the inside of both older and newer serial numbers and they all seem identical inside, please advise.
Thanks
Bill

ITC-5 question

I have a couple of questions on the ITC-5 install -
1) The ITC-5 is the terminal instrument on the Backbone - so I have the backbone connected to one of the blue connectors - I have a blue terminator in the other and a black terminator in the white -- is this correct?? or should I ditch the black terminator.

2) when connecting the DST 800 - can I connect the shield at only one point or do I need to split it and connect to both speed and depth areas ??

Thanks

Display time on all screens - DragonFly 7

I'm a freshwater fisherman who was looking for something new/different in a fish finder and I choose the DragonFly 7 last fall. I've been getting used to it and overall like it very much. However as a fisherman who enters tournaments I find it frustrating that there is not a time widget available on all screens just like temp, depth, and speed. Time is being captured via the GPS, so I'm hoping there can be a software update to have it display? Is this possible?

DragonFly 7 joystick absent on newer units

I'm a freshwater fisherman who dabbles in fishing tournaments and fortunately for me I got the DragonFly 7 with the joystick, however my fishing partner got a newer one and it was the standard arrow button navigation. We both find the joystick easier to use, especially when we have wet or slick hands. I found the joystick to be a great innovation to the typical boring menu navigation of arrows.

Was there a technical reason Raymarine went away from the joystick with the knob? Or maybe fisherman didn't like the joystick?

DragonFly 7 Enhancement - Take screenshot automatically when placing waypoint

My old finder had the ability to take a picture of the screen each time a waypoint was set. This was very handy since most of my waypoints are spots I want to fish on tournament day. This pictures are very helpful when deciding a tournament strategy. Is this an enhancement that can be made and pushed out?

Yesterday was 8/27/16. i created a bunch of waypoints. I then displayed the "Today's Waypoints" group. Several OLD waypoints appeared in the group from exactly 364 days ago. Seems like a software bug to me... I attached a screenshot.

Upon further review I have the two line pressurized system. This diagram is on page 15 figure 7 in your hydraulic pump installation guide.I will set it up the way the diagram shows it instead of trying to T it immediately as it comes out of the reservoir. Was a little confusing as I have three lines and it is called a 2 line system.

ST70 wont run calibrate vane test

$

Hello I am hoping you can help me with an issue.

I recently removed a faulty wind pod with an iTc-5. The replacement went well and the wind speed and instrument readings look reasonable. I assume I need to calibrate the vane to the new transducer. Through the ST70 I have attempted the calibrate wind vane (where you go in slow circles) many times without success. It either "hangs up" at the 6% complete mark or stays at 0% no matter how long I go in circles. It doesn't say to slow down or anything. The small blue circle shows it is "working" during the test but the test will not progress and complete. I can align the vane (head into the wind to adjust AWA) no problem. As a result of not getting this alignment to work the true wind and angle is way off. My software version on the ST70 is 3.03.

Please help!

St4000 - wiring and voltage drop

Hello,

I think I know my answer, but i thought I would post and that way someone else might avoid having to ask.

I have just installed a pedestal in an old sailboat. Along with that I installed an ST4000 system that I had. It all works fine, except...

The system wiring comes off a 8 awg 30amp fused line from the battery switch, that also hosts the engine systems, gauges. I then run 14 awg less than 8ft to a junction that connects the positive for the St4000(fused@15amp as 12amp agc could not find), Garmin GPS(fused inline as well) compass and cockpit lighting(LED). As you can see the only item that would draw significant power at times would be the drive motor.

When the system is put into Auto - In 30sec to a min I will get a brown out that will turn off the power to the GPS and reset the ST4000.

If I am under power and the alternator is charging - no brown out - I have run for hours in this mode.

So it would seem obvious I am getting voltage drop because of the potential draw of up to 10amps from the drive motor. I am going to assume because of the systems age - it could be spiking higher.. though it has not blown the agc 15amp fuse. 14 awg should be enough to handle 10amp draw on that short of run. My batteries pass load testing, but they are deep cycle not starters.

Is my answer to simply run a single line to the drive motor from one of the batteries? I would prefer to draw after the battery switch so that if I am on 1 battery or the other or both and can use that.

Thanks

James

ST2000 Course Display True or Magnetic?

$

I just installed the ST2000 and ran through the compass calibration procedure which calculated the compass deviation. Also the calibration table #4 enables a local variation value. Does the tiller pilot take the compass value, apply deviation to it and produce magnetic? Then does it apply the variation to the magnetic to produce the true heading? (TVMDC). Is the course heading display Magnetic or True?

Matching Transducer to Depth Display?

$

Apelco XVA-70 has died. Any Depth Displays (transceiver) compatible with my present thru-hull transducer ?

Installed transducer Raymarine/Apelco part # M78811, 200kHz, unknown cone angle.
Thur-hull sensor includes speed paddle wheel and temperature which I do not use.

Also would need new signal cable between transducer and display as Apelco cable is damaged. M78811 depth wiring is three wire; transducer in & out and a shield or ground.

An old (cheap) Humminbird has been connected to the M78811. That unit only provides correct depth when boat is totally dead in the water. Time for a better transceiver to transducer match . . . and for now no interest in replacing the transducer.

Recommendation of compatible Raymarine Display or full M78811 specifications are requested.

cpt-120 temperature

I have a CPT-120 interfaced to a A128. The temperature has always varied widely and ranged from 5-20 degrees F over the actual temperature. It fluctuates over 10 degrees in a matter of minutes. Today it hit over 100 degrees F so I decided to write this post.

Downvision and chirp work great and give nice images.

What's wrong here?

Thanks

Interfacing TackTick Instruments with MFD a97

I just recently had a EV-100 Autopilot as well as an a97 MFD installed on my sailboat. I am interested in linking the wireless TackTick interface with the MFD. It have the wind, speed, and depth package.

I understand there may be multiple ways of doing this, however, I am unsure of what equipment is required.

Does the a97 receive NMEA 0183 V2.30 automatically or does it only receive NMEA 2000 sentences?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

ST60 Wind Instrument

My ST60 wind instrument quit working with no warning. The display dial is vertical at 12:00 and the digital display is blank (a dash in each digit). Mechanically the cups are spinning and the direction paddle is moving with the wind. Here's the voltages measured in the junction box inside the boat with the wires connected:
Red-Shield 7.97 vdc
Yel-Shield 7.97 vdc
Grn-Shield few milli-volts
Blu-Shield fiew milli-volts

With the Blu, Yel, and Grn wires disconnected (going to instrument display) this is what I measured on the mast side of the terminal strip in the junction box:
Red-Shield 7.97 vdc
Other three wires showed a slowly rising voltage from 250 milli-volts to about 1 vdc.

I'd like to determine where the source of the problem is, preferably without climbing up the mast to retrieve or inspect the anemometer assembly. Any instructions on what to do would be greatly appreciated.
