[TG11] New Axiom 9 RV help

Finally was able to install new MFD and new Raymarine digital Radar but have a few questions.

Do I need to buy an RS150 antenna to use Course up or Heading up instead of North up for the map orientation.

Is there away to connect an older Raymarine auto pilot ST70001+ with a course computer 218.

Any idea if I can connect 2002 Mercruiser 496 Horizon motors to the MFD.

Thanks lots of learning and reading to do on this forum.

CAM220IP Bend Horizon

The attached image shows in the top left the picture from a CAM220IP which is 10.5m above the water line. The bottom left shows a similar picture from an M232 about 0.5m higher.

The M232 picture (with its tighter field of view) shows a level horizon. (Slightly slanting because the boat was moving and stabilization was off).

The CAM220IP shows a much more curved horizon across its' FOV.

I cant find a setting to correct this curvature.

Please advise.

[TG11] E90w with a ST 290 set

Goodmorning,

I have connected the e90w with a

Spx5
Multiple st60+ displays, for autopilot.
All connected by seatalk 1.

Now i have this st290 set, and wonder what route of connection
to go.

1. It would be preferred to connect it to the seatalkng port
Of the spx5.
2. Or using the seatalk ng port of the e90w.

But: i would like to also connect a ais and external gps.

I would like to hear what makes sense. Thanks.

[TG11] HD Radar Won't Update From v3.23 to v6.16

I continue to struggle to get my radar to update to v6.16. I have removed all sub components from the network and plugged it directly into the A127 MFD so it is the only component and it gets to 70% complete, stops and gives me this error. I flip the power switch on the base off/on and try again and same results....Did this 3 times and gave up. Please advise.

[TG11] e80 legacy chart plotter

Hi,

Need some advice. I have been reading all of the old threads.

I have a legacy e80 chartplotter on a new to me sailboat. I am not ready to upgrade mfd's yet. However, in near term I would like to be able to trip plan on Voyage Planner for PC and export via CF to the Chartplotter for use in the fall?

Is this possible? Can I use a the Navionics mapping that I just purchased to upgrade charting on the chartplotter? I did download via the link in the thread the Voyage Planner Software to my PC and it is asking for a product key (purchased I presume).

Help.

[TG11] 2 Axioms No Ethernet

I bought a supplemental Axiom 7 for my nav station, (I have an Axiom 9 at the helm).

2 Questions:

1) Will the Axiom 7 see the STNG data OK if I just plug it into the network? I understand it won't be able to interface with my radar.

2) Power - The network is already powered - will the A7 get it's power there or should I run power to it?

[TG11] Fuel Flow Meter Displayed to Axiom Pro

Hello,

I am running a new Raymarine Axiom Pro 9 in the boat and looking for a fuel flow meter device that will utilize the NMEA 2000 connection so the fuel consumption data can be viewed on my MFD. I have done several google searches and I can't find anything that pairs a fuel flow meter to a Raymarine MFD. I have also combed the Raymarine website to no avail.

I am hoping to avoid needing a new, separate gauge for the fuel flow display. Why pay all that money and not be able to project fuel data on the MFD screen?

Boat is a Cabo 216 with a Yamaha 175 Two-stroke (1991). I'm getting about 2 mpg but am taking long trips and want to be able to manage my fuel use a little more accurately.

Any input is appreciated, thank you.

[TG11] ES128 will not accept LH3 software

Hi!
Have an es128, downloaded LH3 firmvare and as textile in unzipped files describes the two iso files should be placed on two separate sd cards.
Follows the instructions and plotter reboots and start loading different base maps. After a while plotter starts up with LH2...
Any tips on this?
Radar is in in stb modus.

[TG11] A67 Not following waypoint

My system consist of a A67 MFD, Evoultion Ev-1 with P70 control head and St60+ Speed, Depth and Wind. Everything is communicating. I tell the the A67 to goto waypoint and when I change to Highway screen it says its not following. When I tell it to track it says no data. I have the auto pilot set to on , on the Mfd.

[TG11] make Axiom source of depth: AirMar N2K

I just added an Airmar NMEA 2000 depth sounder to my boat and hooked it up to my N2K backbone. I expected to see it as another source of Depth when I went to my Axiom/Network/Data Sources/Depth. But all I see is the Axiom transducer. Any clue as to why the Airmar doesn't show up in the list ?
Attached are 3 pics, 1st is the list of all my N2K devices (the Airmar is the one that starts with 44-203...). The 2nd pic is the Product info for the Airmar (so clearly the Axiom sees the device). The 3rd pic is the data readout from the Airmar.

[TG11] Dragonfly 5 Pro Noise

Hello! I just got the Dragonfly Pro 5. I love the system and it's perfect for my kayak. However, I'm seeing a lot of noise on the screen. I tested it in a crystal clear river with slow moving current and I tested it on a pond that wasn't super clear, but not bad. In both areas my older Garmin had no issues.

I have it side-mounted on a Ocean Kayak Big Prowler II kayak. I attached screenshots (and pictures) of what the clutter looks like.

I adjusted the contrast and it seems to clear it up but it's definitely not ideal. Tuning the gain definitely fixes it but I'm not sure that is ideal based on what I'm reading.

Thoughts?

[JB] Dragonfly 4DV updgrade

Is it possible to upgrade the dragonfly 4DV to the DVS version? I was sold the DV when in fact I needed the DVS. Wasn't for a long time that I realized the difference and the lack of the Sonar really makes it near impossible to mark fish.

I recently upgraded from the A60 to the Element and no longer have a vector showing COG. I appreciated having range rings and vector lengths available to me. Is this not available with the element?

[TG11] Connecting spx/st 60 network to a st290 ST2 network

Good evening,

I have a good functioning spx/st60 seatalk 1 network and i wanted
to expand with a st290 wind set.

I connected the end of my old network , a st60+ tri with depth en speed, to
the st290 wind, st290 CH wind, and completed it with a connection to
the DPU. Result: seatalk failure, but power on all displays...also the st290 wind.

Then, i connected the DPU to the st290 data display, the windpod, st60cable and windmeter. Result: no winddata on the displays.

Please see my attachement. What went wrong? Thank you in advance.

[JB] 2 Transducers with Raymarine Axiom 9

Hello,

I have 2 Axiom displays on my boat:
Axiom 9 Realvision (Primary)
Axiom 7 Downvision (Secondary, not always powered on while underway)

I currently have 2 transducers as well.
RealVision 3D transom mount connected to the Axiom 9
CPT-S High Chip thru hull connected to the Axiom 7

I used the Axiom 7 when I first installed an auto pilot/radar and later upgraded to the 9. I moved the 7 to the back of the boat and I don't always have it powered on. I was using a CPT-S thru hull transducer with that display and I'd prefer to use my CPT-S transducer for my primary depth reading, but if the Axiom 7 isn't always powered on. The CPT-S does a great job holding bottom at speed while the RealVision transducer will lose bottom (not surprising, being a transom mount transducer when running 30mph +).

I have a 2 part question. Is there a Y cable splitter that will allow me to hook both the RV transducer and CPT-S transducer to my Axiom 9? If so, will I be able to use the CPT-S for my primary depth reading while simultaneously operating the RealVision transducer?

Release control when I grab the wheel

I've been using my new Evolution autopilot and noticed that, unlike some other autopilots I've used, this one does not release control of the drive when you turn the wheel manually hard over. Instead you must disengage via the controller or the MFD.

Is there a setting to enable this? Or is disengagement by turning the wheel not supported?

i60 Wind - No wind speed Readings

I have an i60 wind software version 1.05- wind speed has either stopped working or shows erratic numbers some of which might be correct- wind angle seems correct although it also has been acting intermittently. At the beginning of the season(2020) the unit appeared to be working- after reviewing this forum I took the following voltage readings

From MHU to Junction
Red 7.9 v
Blue 3.9 v
Green 4.9 v
Yellow 2.9 v

From Junction to unit
Red 7.9 v
Blue 3.2 v
Green 4.8 v
Yellow 2.6 v

The boat was at the dock at the wind was somewhat gusty and swirly. I was unable to measure at instrument because I couldn't pry off bezel ( I could on other instruments- any tips) - I will continue trying- any preliminary thoughts

MFD eS78 connection

Hello,

I have MFD eS78 which is connected to AIS via NMEA2000 network. I have also NMEA 0183 network where VHF radio (Midland -NEPTUNE 100) and
Clipper GPS Repeater is connected. I bought NMEA0183
accessory cable - R70414 to connect all together. Unfortunately whatever I do at both VHF and gps repeater there is no gps signal. Can you please Gide me how to connect it right? Many thanks in advance.
