DSC300 questions

I have a a78 with a CP100 transducer and a a67 with a BG60 transducer.
All system is working with my radar, Pr70R auto pilot, ACU-200, Mercury NMEA 2000 Gateway, HS5 SeaTalkhs Network Switch and SeaTalkng.
I would like to know if I add the DSC300 it would improve my sonar performance?
Which of my transducer I will get the better results with the DSC300?
How should I connect the DSC300 to my actual network?
Which cables do I need to connect the DSC300 to the network?

[TG11] a65 Questions

Hi, I'm looking at updating my MFD from the A50D classic to a a65 or a67 (I've found both new old stock)
I understand that these units use the lighthouse software... Can you update them to the latest v3 to enable the startline functionality I have seen in various video's, My yacht is mainly used for racing so I'm looking for improvements in boat performance...
I also like the idea of screen mirroring for the crew if this is possible... My yacht is now equipped with the following

T070 Racemaster
A50D Classic plotter
Micronet Wi-fi Puc
Seatalk1 to seatalk Ng converter
ST60 Tridata
ST60 Wind
ST60 Close Haul Wind
230E VHF

I am about to remove the Gyro Compass and SHS unit as I can now use the T070 for my compass input to the plotter...
I also have a AIS250 unit to fit at some point.

[TG11] eS78 Heading config not staying on Head up

Good Morning, After doing a factory reset, (running version 19.03) because unit was freezing and timing out...I cannot get the "Heading Up" option to remain. She keeps reverting to "North up" on the chart (Navionics, acc. up to date). Also the speed does not show on the upper drop down window. The SOG box is there but no reading is visible. thanks in advance.

Axiom Pro 9 RVX purchase

I am looking at moving away from a different Fishfinder system to Raymarine.

Currently I am considering purchasing the following to replace my older setup:

Axiom 7 E70363-00-NAG
Front mount kit 7" A80498
axiom pro 9 RVX E70482-00-NAG
Front mount kit with cover - 9" A80500
CPT-100 DVS Transducer A80351
CPT adapter cable a80490
Raymarine RV-312 - dual trans T70320

radar T70243

This is on a 2002 Triton 2690 with Twin Yamaha 200's.
Normally it is trailer ed.

Instead of the RV-312's, could I use two of the
Real vision transducer RV100's ? A80464, and "Y" them in, or will they not work together.

Please not any other items I might have left off to make this system work.

[TG11] External GPS NMEA 0183 For AXIOM Pro 12

I bought an AXIOM Pro 12 to be installed in an existing aluminum overhead electronics box which makes it a little difficult to receive high angle GPS satellite broadcasts.The AXIOM Pro 12 has version 3.11.42 software. It does recognize the NMEA 0183 RMC sentence at 1 sentence per second to satisfy the "Time & date" data source.

Can you tell me which NMEA 0183 GPS sentences, and at what sentence rates, will be required for the most complete operation of features of the AXIOM PRO 12 when a future version of the Lighthouse operating system supports the use of NMEA 0183 GPS sentences?

[TG11] ACU 300 energising relays

Hi Raymarine people,

The boat we just installed an EV1 /ACU 300 system on has an original tiller control/constant running hydraulic pump that switched the negative leg and had a common positive connected to the port and starboard solenoids. Rather than reverse the wiring (that affects a lot more than the steering solenoids), we planned to use a simple system that uses the 24v +ve output from the ACU to energise relays and the contact in the relays to complete the circuit on the -ve leg of the original steering circuit

There is no sign of the 24v signal being produced by the ACU, either with the indication LEDs on the relays, nor with a multimeter when the relays are disconnected.

The rudder reference hasn’t been installed yet so we are trying to commission the autopilot without this information.

1. Will the ACU send a 24v signal to another device (solid state relay or multimeter)? Or does it require a certain resistance that a solenoid would provide?
2. Does the drive test in the dockside wizard have to be completed before we see the signal?
3. If the power supply is 24v into the ACU, would we expect a 24v signal to come from either ‘A’ or ‘B’ outputs when we operate the Raymarine power-steer/nfu tiller port and starboard?

[TG11] Connection to Fusion BB100

I have an ES78 MFD and recently purchased a Fusion BB100 unit.
My hopes were that I could connect the unit directly to the MFD using the nmea cable supplied with the BB100 and an adapter cable to connect to the Ray Marine sea talk port. The ES is not detecting the Fusion unit.

Do I need to set up a back bone system for a single connection?
Any help would be appreciated.

[TG11] NMEA / Yamaha / Element

I have recently replaced a Lowrance HDS5 with an Element fishfinder.

My boat has a tested and working NMEA 2000 network that includes my Yamaha F150 Outboard. The HDS5 that I removed was displaying all the engine data from my outboard.

I removed the HDS5, and replaced it with the Element. I have the NMEA connection on the new Element connected in exactly the same place as the HDS5 I removed.

When I do the engine scan on the Element, it cannot "find" the engine.

What could I be doing wrong?

[JB11] Dragonfly fishfinder performance at speed?

I have a Model E70231 Dragon Fly 7" that cam with a Campion 188. It works as it should except that it does not give a depth reading above 5mph or so. I assume that it should and also assume that it is related to the way the transducer is mounted. All suggestions will be appreciated.

i70s AIS off

Splashed my boat today and restarted all my Raymarine and networked electronics and everything worked fine including ais on my 2 axiom 9s as well as my i70s. The ais signal is received from my Standard Horizon GX2200. Before I came to the boat I saved the most recent Axiom update onto a micro sd so after I determined that all the Navigation systems were working I inserted the card In one of the Axioms and updated all the components (see the linked image which shows all my networked devices and their updated versions). After a successful update for everything in the list, I replaced the sd Update card With my Navionics platinum+ card and restarted all my electronics. Everything works fine except my i70s now shows AIS off and I can’t seem to figure out how to turn it on. As I mentioned, it worked fine before the update. My Standard Horizon is showing AIS data, both my Axiom 9’s show the AIS data but my i70s shows AIS off. When I go to the i70s menu/quick options and select View AIS targets it doesn’t turn on the AIS. Am I doing something wrong?

Axiom 9 Pro integration question

I am installing a Axiom 9 Pro into an older system. The system currently has RN 300 GPS, Pathfinder RL70C Plus, ST 40 Depth ST 6001 AutoPilot,
Raydome 2D, DSM 250 Digital Sounder Module. My plan was to stop using the RL70C and for now go with out Radar as I really do not use it anyway.

I am planning on connecting the ST 6001 using NEMA0183 because the course computer is a 100 and also connecting the ST40 using NEMA0183. However I forgot about my Horizon GX1700 and if possible would like it connected to the Axiom 9 Pro. Finally I would like to connect the the transducer from the DSM250 if possible which is a RAYMAINE B256 using an adapter cable.

1) Can I hook up the St6001, ST40 and GX1700 using NEMA0183? It looks like there are only 2 Ports.

2) If I can not hook up everything in question 1, could I connect up the ST40 using a Seatalk to SeatalkNG converter? If so what else would I need?

3) Is there an adapter cable that would interface my B256 transducer to the Axiom 9 Pro?

Card reader question

We have an Axiom 7 in our new boat. It came with the RCR-SD/USB reader. I want to replace it with the RCR-2 reader. Reason being, USB would stick out far enough that something is going to get damaged. The reader is in vulnerable spot. The RCR-2 is much better suited for that spot. Are the mounting screws holes identical between the two readers?

And I know the RCR-2 is discontinued but it's still available online.

AND

It would be nice to have a Gopro app to work with LH3/Axiom. I know its been noted and logged in other threads.

Mirror navionics on slave unit

For reference I have the following:
Axiom Pro RVX (master), axiom RV (slave), network via Raynet. He digital radar via Raynet to axiom pro. B765 connected to master.

I have the Navioncs card installed in the master unit but can not view it on my slave unit. When I open the charts in my slave unit, all I get is a very generic map with blue for water and tan for land. I've tried to turning off the internal GPS for the slave unit. I also tried changing the chart source in the slave unit (navionics etc).

All other functions mirror and work effortlessly between the two units, radar, Sounder etc.

Question: how do I view the navionics map on my slave unit, that is installed on my master?

I owned a Searay 330 Sundancer, want to install an auto pilot and the Axiom 9 or 12, I have a 10 year old Raymarine radar on the boat, can the
old cable fit these new equipment? Is these complicated installation?

HD radar array vs super HD array

Hi Chuck.

I have an older Raymarine digital HD 48" array. I need to replace the 48" array, but want to keep the base. Can I use a super HD array or color HD array in this replacement? I'm not sure how these components work together, and if the color or Super HD quality is in the array or the base.

[TG11] Smartpilot S3

Hi,
On the smartpilot S3 (non gyro) there is a decal stating it must be mounted vertical? is there a functional reason for this? Can it be mounted horizontal without any issues? Remember, this is the S3 non gyro version.

[TG11] Fuel Flow Meter Compatible with Axiom Pro?

Hello,

I would like to integrate a fuel flow meter (floscan or similar) and link it to the Axiom Pro so that fuel consumption rates and data can be projected on the MFD. I have a 1991 Yamaha 2-stroke motor which is not NMEA 2000 capable and therefore am looking for a fuel flow system that can be installed inline and the data run to the MRF independent of the motor.

I have been searching all over and cannot find information to help me find a compatible product.

[TG11] AIS 500 Power/Data Cord PLUG Removal?

I have an AIS 500 installed on my sailboat. How do I remove the Power/Data Cord PLUG at the unit? I want to leave the wires attached to my sailboat and simply want to remove the Power/Data plug at the AIS500 unit.

I need to send the unit to Raymarine in order to reset the MMSI. That is the reason for disconnecting the unit.
