[CA11] Quantum and And Axiom 9 issues communicating

OK,

Sent the old quantum Radome back to Ray and they replaced it under warranty.

Installed to old pedestal and hardwired via ray power and data cables. Axiom MFD does not see the radar. Tried connecting direct via the data port, and through my through my Hs5 Network Switch (which is how it was previously connected and working). Neither of my MFD's (Both Axiom 9 RV's) see the Radar.

Went through Chuck's entire troubleshooting steps...Including disconnecting and resetting.

Also, checked for 12+ VDC at the power cable and verified that data is being sent to the switch via the network.

I am simply missing something here? This is a brand new unit.

[CA11] Axiom 9 RVX adapter to B744V Transducer

I have removed my Classic E80 MFD and associated navigation system and have added an Axiom Pro 9 RVX MFD, I have an existing Airmar B744V 50/200kHz-A PN: 31-313-2-01 Rev.09 Customer Part # E66056 that will stay in the hull this year. I am also installing the RV-100 Transducer on the transom. Please provide the correct Y-adapter cable or adapter needed for connection to the Axiom Pro and both transducers.

I am aware that the transducer cable for the B744V no longer pairs to the DSM300 and it has been removed from the vessel.

I just wanted give you all a big thank you, as I have removed almost all of my 2005 era electronics and replaced them with current equipment. The forum has been a big help and I will continue to use it as I am quickly becoming a Raymarine addict. I just need to finish up and get back on the water.

I have installed the following:
Axiom Pro 9 RVX MFD
Quantum 2 Doppler Radar
AR200 as my GPS and heading sensor (I do not have autopilot)
ST80 (legacy equipment at rear helm) ST1 to STng
Ray70 VHS/AIS Radio
Shakespeare Galaxy VHS/AIS 8" Antenna
Shakespeare Galaxy AM/FM 8' Antenna

[TG11] Lighthouse - New 'gauge' - Engine Balance/Sync (RPM compare)

How about a visual indication of the balance of multi-engine RPM's? I have two engines and only really need to know if my RPM's are not in rough agreement.

Also, can you make the Engine Pressure and Engine Temperature arcs around the RPM something that can be turned off/on?

[TG11] Placing a waypoint on the sounder screen

I marked a waypoint from the sounder screen yesterday and I was surprised to see that the point was off to the right of my track.
Referring to the attached picture I placed the skull and crossbones mark on the structure shown on the waypoint. The marker appeared on the GPS screen well to the right of my current track. By the time I took the screenshot, the boat had passed the structure but when I marked it the angle between the boats track and the marker was approximately 90 degrees.
As it turns out the marker was placed exactly over the structure. I made a pass back to check,
As a reference, the distance between the red cross and the rocks symbol is approximately 40 ft, which means the skull and crossbones is about 30 ft off my beam. The water depth was about 60 ft.
As I understand sounder operation it has no idea where in the cone an object is, just that it is somewhere in the cone.
What I don't understand is that the sounder and down vision show what is under the boat. So if the mark was placed on the structure shown on the sounder screen and the mark is on the structure, how could the boat's track be so far away?

[TG11] RAY53 Screen Options

I find the RAY53 screen very very hard to read. Forget about reading the GPS position... I have trouble even making out the channel! Maxing out the contrast and the backlight improves it, but it is still a big struggle.

How about adding an option to JUST have the channel shown.. bigger and with a bit more spacing beween the numbers.

[CA11] Compatibility of Axiom Pro 12

Hi,
I'm refitting my Moody 54 with a new Axiom Pro S 12. I currently have the following installed and interfaced to a Raymarine C95:
- SR6 Sirius Receiver/Seatalk HS switch
- 4kw 18 inch HD Color Radar
- several ST60 instruments
- ST 6000 Hydraulic Autopilot

Questions:
1. Any compatibility issues with swapping out the C95 at the helm with the Axiom?
2. If I add another Axiom 9 RVX at the NAV station, can the Pro S at the helm still view the Realvision 3D sonar?
3. I'm planning on using the C95 on my other sailboat - replacing an old e80 classic that has a radar connected. I assume that radar is analog. Will my C95 be able to connect to it?

[CA11] Considering Upgrading and need some guidance

I just recently purchased a 2010 Boston Whaler that is instrumented with Raymarine Electronics. This is the first time I have ever used Raymarine. I believe some of the units are acting a bit flaky and am considering upgrading. I have (2) E140W's, (1) ST70+ Autopilot, RS125 GPS Receiver, CP370 ClearPulse 1KW Sonar Module, SR50/SR100 Sirius Weather, Ray 90 VHF, 48" Open Array HD Radar and a Seatalk Network Switch.

I was planning on waiting till next season to upgrade due to cost but given some of the issues I am thinking about doing some upgrades now starting with the E140W's.

If I replace the E140W with Axiom Pro RVX (16) what components of the existing system will also need to be upgraded due to compatibility?

[CA11] Wind sensor mounting

I'm interested in adding an i70S display, itc-5, and wind vane to an existing SeaTalk ng backbone. Because of antennas, I'd really like to install the wind vane pointed aft instead of forward. I know the wind vane can be calibrated from the i70S. Can it be adjusted 180 degrees to compensate for being installed facing aft?

[CA11] Z135 Autohelm wind

I noticed that my wind speed is reported at the instrument higher than what I believe to be the actual speed. The wind transducer has hemispherical cups which leads me to believe that a previous owner replaced the transducer and kept the panel instrument. Am I headed in the right direction? Can the speed signal be recalibrated?

[CA11] broken into on the hard

My 2004 Meridian 408 was broken into on the hard.

Items taken, for the purpose of this thread, were:
Auto pilot controller (Raymarine ST6002)
GPS/Radar display (Raymarine RL 70C)
VHF radio (Raymarine, model unknown)

My insurance company says I need to get a pricing to replace the equipment with like equipment. I’m not sure what level of equipment the above electronics were in 2004. Does anyone know what they were and what would be the best …. fair replacement model?
I do not know how all this stuff works; are the 2004 electronics we were using so old that when replacing the auto pilot display and GPS/Radar display will we need to replace the GPS receiver, radar disk, the computer thing under the dash, any of the sensors in the bottom of the boat or the auto pilot steering mechanism?

[CA11] AIS 700 working but does not show as a GPS source

I have a small network, Quantum Radar, ITC5, I50 depth and speed, I60 Wind, P70 autopilot, AIS700,EV400 and EV1 autopilot, Axiom 7 at the Nav Station, Axiom 9 at the helm, and the transducers that interface with the ITC5. Power is in the middle with about max 30 foot runs on one side and max 15 on the other. Wiring length is because there are not intermediate lengths.

I thought when I first turned on the AIS it took over the GPS data provider role. I must be wrong as only the Axiom 7 and 9 show as GPS sources. Is that correct? Why would the AIS not show as a GPS source? I can't put external antennas on the Axioms so I would like the AIS 700 to be the source as it has a nice external antenna.

If I am doing something wrong I hope someone can help.

[CA11] NMEA to SeaTalk?

I have twin 2007 etec 175s with NMEA 2000 capability. I also purchased the Raymarine combo with the Axiom 12”, 9”, CB Radio, HS5 SeaTalk, and NMEA 5 port hubs with a few adapter and power wires. I currently have my 9” plugged into my 12” Axiom and they work great. I know the Evinrudes need their adapter cables for NMEA. How do I get from the engines to the Axioms to use their displays for engine instruments? I’ve figured out how to wire the engines to the 5 port hub but can’t find anything that came with the Raymarine nor NMEA kits to connect the two. What am I doing wrong?

I have a NASA PC Navtex engine 9600 baud suitable for Raymarine C & E series

I bought it to use with my C120, but as I already had Raymarine AIS installed, my electrician told me I couldn't use both at the same time due to the difference in baud rates between the Navtex and the AIS.

Recently, I got a used A70D and I am wondering if I can use the A70D to display Navtex data. I find no information about the baud rate used by an A70D.

Besides the antenna cable and the power cable that connect to the NASA "black box" there is a 9 pin connection on the black box and a cable with a 9 pin connector, but the cable from the connector only has a black wire, red wire and shield. The very limited NASA instruction sheet says leave the red wire unconnected to receive International Navtex at 518kHz.

NASA hasn't been able to help me with this technical question.

[TG11] Netflix app not working?

Axiom Pro 12 RVX with Cannes v3.11.42 November 2019 software.

Netflix app sits on logging in endlessly.

I have tried from two different Axiom 12 Pros with two different Netflix logins, and from Sydney, Australia if that makes a difference. Connected to the www via WiFi hotspots.

Is it just me or is the app not working?

[CA11] Axion 9 install

I am attempting to install the Axion 9 using the metal trunnion bracket, however, when I connect the RV-100 cable, the display cannot be tilted up because the cable hits the bracket. Is there any other metal trunnion brackets available for this unit that have greater clearance from the bottom of the unit to the bracket (i.e taller brackets)? If not, is there any right- angle adapters?
