[CA11] AIS 700 - Errors on power

Hi Team,

After i recieved my new replacement 700, plugged it in and everything seemed to work fine on the chartplotter and i can see my AIS signals going out - so great. The i plug in to check settings via USB and notice a power error. Looking more closely, Volts show as 29.2V. Firstly the specs for this unit show 12-30v i believe so that should be ok, but the Unit shows error even though it behaves perfectly.

Then i noticed if i switched off the battery charge the bolts dropped as you would expect to around 25/26v and the error on the AIS unit goes away.

Sailing for the weekend and no issues at all.

I'm not overly concerned since i dont use AIS while on shorepower other than for testing but curious as to why this is showing up as an error?

[CA11] Integrating i50/i60 with older EClassic - ST6002System

The wind transducer on my E120 - ST60 ST6002 system has just failed.

I am not ready for a complete upgrade, but noticed that there is currently
a great deal on a wind / depth / speed i50 / i60 package.

I have some integration questions:
It appears that I can connect the i50/ i60 equipment to the Seatalk network via a Seatalk to SeatalkNG adaptor kit.
1. If I do this, will I be able to calibrate the i50/i60s with the existing equipment?
2. Is the wind transducer a direct replacement for the old one? i.e. Will it just screw into the fitting at the top of the mast? If not, can I reuse the cable in the mast?
3. Can I reuse the old depth transducer until I pull the boat to install the new one?

[CA11] Bridging AIS data using ST1 TO STNG

Normally if we want to feed information from say a third party AIS unit which outputs in NMEA0183 to an MFD which doesn't accept NMEA2000 (i.e an Axiom), we use a converter such as the Actisense NGW-1 ( part number A80455). Is there any reason why we wouldn't be able to instead use an ST1 to STNG converter ?

[CA11] Axiom doppler software update issue

During update of Axiom software to the current version, when I inserted the Micro SD card, my axiom data master unit identified two categories of software for upgrade: (1) Axiom/lighthouse and (2) hardwired Doppler radar (cannot recall the formal name).

The Axiom software successfully updated on all 3 of my Axioms with no issue.

The doppler hardwired software failed to update.

Is this a known issue or is there a fix? Maybe my doppler software doesn't need to be updated?

[CA11] Element 7 HV for Kayak

I want to order a regulator for an FPV-POWER 17.5AH KAYAK BATTERY to ensure a constant 12V to the fishfinder until the battery reaches its safety cutoff. Regulator options are according to Max Load of the fish finder; either 1.5A or 5A. The specifications of the Element 7 HV states Power Consumption (max 12V DC) as 15W, which translates to 1.25A
My questions:
- Should 15W (1.25A) be considered typical or maximum power consumption?
- If typical; what is the maximum?

[CA11] Sailboat system help

So I am in the process of purchasing a 36ft sailboat. I am interested in adding an existing Axiom 7 RV that I have. Would like to add the i70 wind /DST system (T70216) as well as the EV-100 wheel pilot (T70152). Wondering if there is any issues or concerns networking this all together? Will the DST transducer interfere with the the real vision transducer? Am I looking at the right components - desire is to have realvision sonar, wind, speed, and depth with autopilot. What data from this system will be available via the raymarine control or viewer apps? I am military and on a tight budget so if there is a better(less costly) solution I am open to idea. Also would like to consider a radar at some point but not critical at this point.

[CA11] Issues with Element 12 HV

I can't get the unit to display fuel used. It will display Gallons per hour and and MPG.

I have also noticed that it is erratic in keeping trip miles and season miles.

Nmea 2000 from a 225 Tohatsu

[CA11] AIS650 no lights

Hi all.
I’ve just reinstalled my AIS650 after an MMSI updated and also antenna change. When it starts, amber lights is on, but then disappears and there’s no light at all... no red, no amber... neither green.. With the PROAIS2 all seems working properly, I see another boats, but I can’t find myself... any ideas?, please help..

[CA11] Power when interfacing seatalkng to NMEA2000

Hi all,

This topic has been discussed in other threads but I'm just a bit curious on one point.

I've seen somewhere that when interfacing both, a seatalkng network to a NMEA2000 that only one power source should be added to the system ( now comprised of both the seatalkng and NMEA2000) as the adapter cable being used (Seatalkng spur to devicenet adaptor) is able to carry power across it. Is this correct?

How does the Advanced Speed Calibration compute between the Calibration Points set out in the Calibration Table?

Is the first Calibration Factor applied to all values from 0,0 to the first Uncal. Value set in the Table and so on, forming "horizontal steps" or is there some sort of smoothening/intrapolation between the various Calibration Points chosen?

I just ordered a new system for a large center console and want to make sure I am ordering the most up to date equipment for offshore navigation and fishing. Any feedback would be appreciated as it is not too late to change.

Evolution autopilot Ev400 with type 2 pump for triple application
CP570 with a pm111 LHW 2kw transducer
RVX-1000 with an Rv200 transducer
Rmk10 key pad

Seatalk

Any suggestions on if I am missing anything or changes you would suggest would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

[CA11] AIS 650

I install a new AIS 650 , connected with ST (ng) cable to a C 125, AIS 650 is ok, green light, but in the chartplotter in the screen show a "NO AIS" sign, seems that the plotter don´t comunicate with the AIS, where is the problem ??

[CA11] SXM Weather for network of eS9x MFD's

I was preparing to add the SR200 to my client's yacht which currently has an eS9x MFD installed at each of two helm stations. This includes Raynet devices: HS-5, CAM210, and 18" Radome, along with a fairly extensive NMEA 2000 network (about 25 physical devices, many more virtual). Contrary to other resources I've read, the installation manual indicates that the SR200 will only work on Axiom MFDs. Further research on this forum confirms that the SR200 will not work with our eS9x series MFDs.

I am looking for product guidance. This installation is only about two years old, so the owner will not be happy with the prospect of replacing his MFDs. On the other hand, the SR150 is now a retired product. While there are some SR150's still available on the market, I am concerned about installing a retired product. Also, as the existing NMEA 2000 network aboard is already well populated, I am hesitant to add the NMEA 2000-based SRM150.

Please reply with your suggestions for moving forward. Also, please comment on any problems or shortcomings of replacing ONE of the eS9x MFDs with an Axiom MFD and adding the SR200. Particularly, I am concerned with potential integration problems between the LH2 eS9x and the LH3 Axiom MFD.

[CA11] GPS issues with an Element

Several time per day a message is displayed on the screen that states GPS fix lost,
it quickly goes away and the unit continues to leave a track, any suggestions would be appreciated.

[CA11] Change IP address??

I am building 3 small boat trainers, all on one network because they are all controlled by a single instructor station. Each trainer has 3 eS127 MFD's and 3 i70 Aux Displays. Since you can only have one Master MFD on a network, can I change the IP address on these Raymarine units so I can use VLAN to separate the data streams? Is there an advanced menu I can access?

[DG11] ST5000 plus faulty

Hi,

I have read a lot of thread about ST5000+ but it hasn't solved my problem.

Basically the AP rudder reference bar starts to slip even though the rudder is straight to stern. Whenever you switch the unit on it can be from dead straight to showing 10 even 30 degrees out, again with the rudder straight to stern. When the AP is then set to auto and under sail, eventually it puts a full turn in and has to be switched to stand by.

So I've tested the compass and rudder transducer according to links on the forum and the resistance readings are as expected. Which makes me think the AP unit has gone faulty.

Could it be the transducer?? I could replace that but if i then need to replace the AP, the new transducer has been a wasted purchase.

I have read that the ST5000 can be replaced by the EV-200. When I have researched this it seems I am buying 3 components and Im not sure if the is correct for my Bavaria 37. The kit I have seen includes a a P70s, ACU-150 and EV1 sensor core, are these the components I would need?

Would my existing rudder transducer, compass and hydraulic ram connect to these, also would this work with the ST60 wind and depth instruments? My plotter is an RL70c pathfinder but I not worried about connecting to that as I use Navionics on my iphone for navigation.

If there is a solution that combines a new AP with plotter that I can have on the helm I would also be interested but again will this involve changing all the instruments as I assume the uo to date equipment us a different sea talk.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am looking to get a remanufactured Axiom 9 RV from Defender. They list the model # as E70367-00-LNCR. On the rebate claim form it only list E70367R. Would this option cover the model from Defender? I am unable to find anyone selling the E70367R.

[CA11] Continuing problems with Axiom Fuel Manager

The Axiom fuel manager has continuing problems: The days usage is often wildly incorrect, sometimes hours as well. Less frequently (but still frequently) the month and trip will be far off. It it quite common to see the days use showing 460 gallons in 4 hours of engine run (should be about 8) or the engine run for the day something like 80 hours (in a 24 hour day???). Sometimes a new day will not reset the days totals. Sometimes manually resetting the trip will not reset the totals for the trip. Every once in a while it works correctly.

This app has had various problems starting with the installation of the unit a year ago and through a number of software revisions. The fuel manager on the i70S, using the same information, does not have these difficulties.

This would be a nice feature if it worked.
