[CA11] LH 3 Navionics Plotter Sync

$

I have an eS127 running LH 3. I also use Navionics US and Canada. I have a corresponding Navionics app on my IPad. When I attempt a plotter sync to move routes from the IPad to the chart plotter, I get a Navionics card not found error message on the app.

1) all software is up to date.
2) I spoke with Navionics and they state that there is a known issue with Raymarine products. They did not state what created the issue.
3) They told me to export the charts to a card on a PC and import via the card.
4) I searched the forum using just Navionics, then searched using Navionics Lighthouse 3 eS and could only find one unrelated post.

My question is: Is there a known issue with LH 3 accepting updates over the Raymarine network when used with an eS127? Is it possibly related to the inability to update Raymarine software with an internet connection?

Thanks for your help.

[CA11] AIS700 and Axiom 9

Greetings everyone,
Sailboat installation of AIS700 and Axiom 9.
The AIS700 will be installed at the chart table next to the fixed mount VHF. The Axiom 9 will be at the helm. The distance between the two units is about 15 feet.

Questions:
1. What cable should I use to connect the two? I will not be connecting to any other units.
2. Do I need to install the AIS700 antenna outside or can it be mounted near the chart table down below?
3. Can the AIS700 use the internal GPS antenna on the Axiom 9 thus not connecting the AIS700 GPS antenna?

Thanks for your help.

[CA11] ST50 wind transducer connects upside down

Several years ago I purchased a new st50 wind transducer as a spare to my existing Z135 unit. When I installed on mast, the connector with slot was upside down. Is this replacement a different model, and is there a way to rotate the transducer connector 180 degrees?

[CA11] Autopilot to replace old Northstar system

I have a 2006 Sea Ray 380 with the old Northstar autopilot system. The rudder reference is bad, and, because the parts are obsolete, I have to replace the system. I'm replacing the e120 classic MFD with the ES127 and the VHF240 (not working, as it says it cannot connect to base station) with the Ray90. I plan to leave the 5S 48" 4k open array radar alone, for now....and I'm running Yanmar diesel.

My questions.
1. Which autopilot would be appropriate for this boat, given the old system and the new components?
2. Will my old radar, 5S 48" 4k, work with the ES127? if not, will this effect the autopilot?
3. I have the RS125 external GPS. Will this need to be upgraded with the ES127? I have a hard top, so I'm not sure if the internal gps on the ES127 will work. I am assuming the GPS location for the Ray90 will pull from the signal from the ES127.
4. Is there an adapter bezel kit when going from the e120 classic MDF to the ES127?

Thanks in advance for your help.

[CA11] Device net to Seatalk backbone cable

My E125 connected and functioned with my ST6001 Autopilot via my Seatalk connector cable.
I installed an Axiom Pro and connected the supplied Devicenet cable to my Seatalk backbone in the same position as my E125 to Seatalk cable. The new AxiomPro does not "see" the ST6001 Autopilot. No autopilot is displayed.

What is wrong?

[CA11] Feedback from a/c/e/gs series owners on LH3 performance

Good evening,

I'm curious to hear feedback from any a/c/e/gs series MFD owners who have converted from the LH2 to the LH3 operating system, what are your thoughts on overall performance and in specific applications like Chart and Sonar?

Thank you.

Hi,
I've just bought a refurbed A57D. What is the best way to get it to talk to the st60 tridata and st4000 mk11? My old standard horizon chart plotter was already talking to the triadata and autopilot via mnea but would seatalk be easier? I don't have the leads or pinouts so connection will be a bit hit-and-miss.

[CA11] ST1 to STNG Converter Fails WIth ST1 Connected

I have the E22158 SeaTalk-to-SeaTalkNG converter. I plugged the two blue terminators into the end sockets. I have three ST60 instruments: wind, depth, and speed.

Case 1: I powered the device directly through one of the white STNG sockets with nothing else plugged in. I get a solid green light indicating STNG is healthy and ST1 is not connected.

Case 2: When I plug in any (or all) of the ST60 instruments with the power off and then turn on the power, I get a flashing green light with a 50% duty cycle indicating STNG is connected but not receiving data and ST1 is not connected.

Case 3: When I power up the device first and then plug in the ST60 instruments, I get four seconds of solid green followed by three short blinks indicating STNG is healthy and ST1 has no compatible device detected. The ST60s do power up but don't appear to be seen by the converter.

If instead of powering the device stand-alone, I connect it to an NMEA 2000 network through a STNG-to-N2K cable, the device shows up on the N2K network in Case 1 and Case 3, but no ST60s show up in Case 3.

Why doesn't the device seem to boot up properly when anything ST1 is connected?

Why don't the ST60 instruments show up in Case 3?

Thanks,
-mark

[CA11] Transferering data from C120 to Axiom Pro

I’ve just uppgraded from a pair of C120 screens to Axiom Pro 12. Trying to transfer my waypoints, tracks and routes from the old system to the new with no success.

I’ve done my back up from the old screen, selecting all data, on the CF card and get a file a bit over 1000 k, run it through the Raymarine file format tool and get a file of 32 k which I can import to the new system. Only problem is I get a mixed selection of waypoints, no tracks or routes. The waypoints are a mix of old/new ones, with very different names. I can’t figure out why these ones work while others won’t.

Any ideas of how to solve this problem?

[LW11] AR200 insted of EV-1 as autopilot vessel motion sensor?

$

Hello,
I own a boat where I already have an augmented reality package based on AR200 sensor and CAM210 camera. Now I want to add an autopilot. Apparently the AR200 motion sensor is very similir to EV-1/2 sensors used for autopilots. My question is, do I still need the EV1 sensor or is the AR200 capable to provide the required information?
Thanks in advance.
David.

Hi, I've assembled a block diagram and intent on power and networking connections for an upgrade of my vessel's systems, from a pair of E120s with analog radar, S3G pilot to a new suite with Axiom plotters, digital radar and EVO pilot.

Can you please review and the questions noted in the PDF and comment as appropriate?

Many thanks to the quality forum and support.

I have just installed an Axiom 9 with a RV100 transducer. Put it on the water yesterday for the first time and seem to be getting interference on the sonar. Attached are some screenshots. It looks like I am leaving a trail of fish on the Realvision and the sonar isn't clean at all. The gain was set to auto. There were no other devices on that could cause interference and I did turn off the engine but there was no change. On installation I installed the drain wire on the negative bus with the negative power lead. Any advice on what is causing this issue?

[CA11] AIS 700 GPS Antenna Mount

Greetings everyone,
Is it okay to mount the AIS 700 GPS antenna on a "Rail mount"?
I already have a Raymarine GPS 125 antenna on a rail mount.
A pole mount or surface mount is not ideal.
If yes, recommendations?
Thank you.

[CA11] Fuel data overlay on Axiom 9

I have a question about fuel manager. This is a new MFD running the most recent software. I have a Garmin GFS10 fuel flow meter on my network and set up fuel manager. The GFS10 is connected and reporting correctly it appears. I need to be able to add fuel information to my chart screen as an overlay. Specifically instantaneous fuel economy (mpg) and fuel remaining. I assumed once this device was setup this information would be available as an overlay like my previous MFD but I do not see it as an option in the list. How can I get this info to my screens?

[CA11] Heading Sensor EV-1

I recently installed the Axiom 9 Pro and Quantum 2 radar on my 2013 310 Sundancer to replace older Raymarine electronics. It is a terrific combination. Thank you for making such great electronics. After I purchased the units, the installer recommended I add the EV-1 heading sensor too.

I have read Chuck's very useful threads on the heading & COG differences and uses of the heading sensor posted here (dated 01-17-2016 and 11-07-2017). I think I understand most of what he wrote. My question is, I thought the doppler radar/Axiom software provided the proper course, speed and color (heading away or closing) of contacts that MARPA would also provide. So I'm confused about what else the EV-1 heading sensor would provide that I won't already have while underway.

Sorry if this question was asked and answered elsewhere. Thank you.

[LW11] Axiom 9 + Enabling RV-100 transducer elements

Hello

I am new in this forum but have life-long experience of using different main brand fish finders for inshore fishing.

My new 2019 Faster aluboat came factory installed with Axiom 9’’ MDF and RV-100 transducer. I have experimented some with this setup and have some issues to solve for my application. Could someone advise me what to do?

I am using dual sonar systems in my boat for vertical jigging; I use another brand unit and 83/200kHz non-chirp transducer at mid-ship position. There is too much interference between this transducer and the RM chirp ( as expected of course...). Is there some way selectively to switch off the RV-100 200kHz chirp elements and keep 370kHz Side Imaging elements enabled ? My assumption is that all elements are physically separated and driven by isolated drive stages...If not, could Raymarine consider developing this transducer element SW switch off functionality, I simply don’t want to add more HW such as splitter cables...

All this Could make my day happier with Raymarine product…

I am completing an upgrade from the old Raymarine E120 Classic to Axiom Pro on a 2010 SeaRay with Axius drives. Do you have any insight into how the Axius drives communicate with the new Axiom Pro MFD's?

[CA11] Screen Shots

Does anyone have somewhere I can go to view screen shots of a WiFish to help me determine what I'm seeing on mine? I'm pretty certain but have no way to confirm what I think I'm seeing. Like bait fish vs. the top of bushes. Or bass/striper vs. bluegill. I'm pretty certain I'm seeing it correctly just not 100% is all.

Thanks for any guidance!!
