I have a new Axiom 9 that has been installed on my network which is a Seatalkng and using a hs5 network network switch. On the seatalkng network I have a e97, ACU200 and EV1, P70R and a i70. On the hs5 I have a CP100 and RD410HD Radar. When I have to choose the data master - if I choose the e97, the Axiom 9 cannot communicate with the e97. If I choose the Axiom 9, the e97 does not communicate with the Axiom 9. Communication with the other items on either network work fine. Is there any way for the Axiom 9 and the e97 to exist on the same network?

[CA11] AIS 700 VSWR Fault
I have been helping a friend with a partial upgrade to the electronics on a new to him 2006 Albemarle 280.
We have installed an Axiom Pro 9 with a pair of through hull RV transducers. Although we removed 1 of 2 E80 Classics to make room for a new Axiom Pro, we understand that the Axiom Pro and the E80 can not coexist on the existing STHS network so the Axiom Pro has been installed as a stand alone unit. The existing system did not include a STNG/NMEA 2000 network so at least for the time being, all data between the old and new systems will be separate.
We installed a very small STNG network. It is terminated at both ends, powered and its only spurs are the new Axiom Pro and AIS 700. This new STNG network appears to be working correctly.
We connected the new AIS 700 as follows:
- 12 vdc to a properly fused circuit
- STNG to the new STNG backbone
- Existing VHF antenna to "Antenna"
- Icom IC-M602 VHF to "VHF" via provided patch cable.
The vessel does not currently have an RF Ground point at the electronics but for testing purposes, I made temporary above deck connections between the new units and the engine and through hull bonding system.
When the AIS 700 was initially started the Axiom Pro quickly displayed an AIS target and dangerous target alarm for a vessel on the same dock but it also displayed an AIS VSWR fault alarm.
Unfortunately we did not have immediate access to ProAIS diagnostics. Suspecting that there were issues with the existing VHF antenna installation we charged right in and replaced it with a new West Marine/Shakespeare Mariner 8700. We understand that this 8', 5/8 wave, 6 db gain antenna is not ideal for AIS but thought that it would be workable for our purposes.
Unfortunately, installing the new antenna did not clear the VSWR fault.
After rounding up the ProAIS software, we found that voltage and GPS function was ok and the unit was sending and receiving but VSWR was registering at about 7:1.
The soldering job for the coax shielding at the new antenna connector was suspect. Not having another connector handy, we foolishly attempted to remove and re solder the existing connector which resulted in the worst possible VSWR at 99:1.
We replaced the bad connector and believe that it is installed correctly but VSWR continued to register at 99:1.
At this point we figured it was time for some technical support but on a whim, I moved the antenna connector from the "Antenna" connection point to the "VHF" connection point. With the antenna connected this way the AIS 700 appeared to work correctly. The VSWR alarm was cleared and the VSWR registered as 1.6:1 which is probably pretty close to the nominal spec. for the antenna.
We can't be sure if the original antenna was in fact defective, if the AIS 700's internal VHF splitter may have been defective from the start or if any of our installation or troubleshooting may have complicated the situation. Any advice as to how we should proceed would be greatly appreciated.

Raypilot 650 Control Head
Installed a Vulcan 7FS plotter....have a Raypilot 650 control head (seatalk) connected to a Yacht Devices seatalk-0183 converter, then to an Actisense NGW-1 0183 to 2000 converter....goes into network and plotter...plotter “sees” the rudder deflection, but will not discover the autopilot. Any suggestions? If it won’t work...any recommendations on a new control head and converter cables needed? Is it that simple...or would I need to replace everything except for the hydraulic drive?

[CA11] ST60 Wind instrument with E22158 ?
Hi Forum. Have a NMEA2000 wind instrument. Will the E22158 convert NMEA2000 wind data to appropriate SeaTalk wind sentence to display on ST60 ? I've used ST60 wind instruments as repeaters for other ST60 winds with transducers so I know that SeaTalk will repeat wind sentence and instrument can use, but in this installation I'm not seeing any wind on instrument. I performed a factory reset on ST60.

Cannot enable LightHouse 3 Autopilot Controls feature with legacy autopilot
The Autopilot Controls feature of LightHouse 3 software is restricted to systems featuring Evolution autopilots. While this feature is not supported in systems featuring legacy Raymarine autopilots, MFDs running LightHouse 3 software are indeed capable of supplying navigational and steering data to compatible autopilots to support use of the autopilot's Track mode feature. The MFD will initiate communications of such data when navigation (Go To Waypoint / Cursor Position or Follow Route) has been commanded through the LightHouse 3 software. The autopilot may then be commanded into Track mode via the autopilot's control head.

[CA11] Ray50 software update kills the device
Hello. This week I updated the software of all the equipment on my boat. Everything went very smoothly until the software update of my VHF ray50 radio. After the update, the device turns on but displays strange characters on the screen, very different than before the update. After attempting to select a channel for transmission, the device locks and displays "PLL ERROR ...". Does anybody have any suggestion? Raymaride was contacted, they say that the device must be sent to repair in USA but I live in Brazil... :-(

[CA11] Evolution - "No drive detected" "No pilot"
I have a three year old Evolution 200 system with ACU200/EV1/P70/Axioms running a Type 1 Linear Drive. I recently updated the Axiom software to get my Sirius up and running. I am getting intermittent "no drive detected" and "no pilot" errors, with alarms, and disengagement of the unit to hand steering.
I have checked all connections.
Of note....I do not see the pilot in the device listing, nor any other devices, on my Axiom data source screens. I am thinking this relates to the NG/ST1 converter I have on my network.
I have downloaded the software for the P70/EV1/ACU200 to my laptop. Is there a way I can isolate these components to the Axiom to perform an upgrade, and see it this fixes the problem? ( also have a spare ACU200 and EV1 on the boat as it is a double handed ocean racer that needs a functioning autopilot)
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

[CA11] Axiom 9 questions
I have 2 units networked but I can’t seem to get the forward transducer to show on bow unit. When I go to select transducer, the only option is the 3dr transducer which is on the transom. I have a HotMaps card and am not seeing the same information on the bow unit as far as depth lines even though I have the same selection made as the console unit.

Raymarine 400G and Lighthouse 3
Is the 400 or 400G autopilot computer with the ST600R control unit designed to work with Lighthouse 3? I have the converter installed and passing data but am not able to enable auto pilot slider in the MFD display settings. The MFD's are es127 and Axiom 7.
Also, I see heading coming from the autopilot and displaying on the MFD's, but there is a 10 degree offset (autopilot control shows 120 deg and the MFD shows 110 deg). What would be the cause of this?
Thank you,
Steve.

[CA11] Water Temperature Source
I do not see a way to select water temperature source in Lighthouse 3. Am I missing something? I have older ST60 tridata that has taken over as the data source for water temperature. This temperature is incorrect and out of the adjustment range so I would like to disregard it and use the MFD transducer as the source.

[CA11] replace C80-help
I have a 2006 c80 Classic with a DSM 300 module, Rs232 (I have no idea what this does) and GPS. The gps also sends position data to my raymarine VHF. The boat is a small 22' center console so don't need any more functionality.
The c80 appears to be dying as the screen starts up grey and fades to black. If I bang it, the screen display pops back but splits in the middle. Sometimes it works just fine, too.
I am looking at replacement, and after reviewing the these forums, think I may be able to do the following and wanted to confirm.
Remove DSM 300 module and C80 display with all wiring. Remove RS232 and gps antenna.
Replace c80 with Axiom 9 DV (or do they only make RV in the 9?).
Get an adapter for the transducer A80485(?) and a face plate adapter (A80564).
Am I in the right ball park? I assume the transducer can direct connect to the axiom with the adapter, which would be a huge win for me as I would not have to run a wire and re-use the transducer saving money and a [censored] in the boat.

Tilt data box on i70s
I have an EV-1 and an i70s on the network and according to the docs and other posts on this forum I should be able to display “tilt” information, which is the heel angle of the boat.
However, the i70s only displays “- - -“ in the data box.
All latest software on every component in the network.
Any ideas on why this data is not displaying?

[CA11] Installing Two Remote Card Readers
In order to run two charts are simultaneously, I plan to replace the RCR-SD/USB-Card Reader (A80440) that is connected to my Axiom 12 with an RCR-2 Remote Card Reader (A80218). I also have an Axiom 9 networked to the Axiom 12. The Axiom 12 is the data master. Will it be a good idea to connecting the RCR-SD/USB-Card Reader (A80440) to the Axiom 9 so that the Axiom 9 will be completely redundant if the need arises? Will the system recognize the third card slot that will be connected to the Axiom 9?

[CA11] ST60 wind vane issue
Hello,
I have a faulty ST60 wind transducer. I took it apart and powered the PCB with a lab power (8V between red and screen wires). When probing directional signals (blue & green) with an oscilloscope, they appear to output 2-6V sin & cosine which I believe is correct. However, anemometer signal (yellow) outputs approx 350mV pulses while I believe the pulse amplitude should be 5V. Can you please confirm that this is faulty behaviour. If so, please advice on remedy.
Many thanks,
Harri
