I currently have a Raymarine digital radar networked to an Axiom 9 and 7 via an HS5 network switch. If I replace the digital unit with a quantum 2 will the current power and data cable work or do I need to run a new one?

[CA11] RS130 losing fix
In February of this year I replaced my RL80C and L760 with eS127 and eS97 MFDs. At the same time I replaced my radome with E92143 24" HD Dome. My old system had a 1 year old RS130 GPS so I chose to keep and use it.
About 7 weeks ago I started getting GPS Lost Fix errors. I found that switching the eS127 (Data Master) to use its internal GPS is a workaround for the lost fix problem.
The RS130 is located on top of my radar arch and about 8 feet from my two VHF fixed antennas. The RS130 works fine and the barograph shows good signal strength until I key a VHF radio, at which time the RS130 will lose fix. Also when my hand held VHF is keyed, on low power if it is 5 feet or less from the RS130 it also loses fix.
The status LED atop the RS130 will be short flashing green until the VHF is keyed. It will then go to short flashing orange for about 4 to 5 seconds, at the same time the satellite signal will go to near zero. If the VHF key is held longer than 5 seconds the status LED will return to green and the signal strength will return to about 50% of normal. Again the problem goes away when the key is released.
I have checked everything I know to check and suspect the RS130 is to fault.
Do you think the problem is in the RS130?
I purchased the RS130 1/30/17 1 year and 4 months ago. Can it be repaired?
I have attached a drawing of my system just in case you suspect there is something else wrong.
Thanks for your help,
Shay

[CA11] upgrading from e210 classics to axiom pro -- ac20 autopilot?
Hi --
I'm considering upgrading from a system with two e120 classics, to a pair of Axiom Pros. Two things I'm uncertain about:
To make it simple this year, I'd replace the old DSM300 with a CP370 so that I can continue to use the old Airmar M260 transducer. Can I use my old Seatalk HS switch to connect between CP370 & Axiom Pro? If not, I guess I need a special adapter cable to connect directly to one of the MFDs?
Also, the old system relies on a Simrad AC20 based autopilot with AP26, RC36, RPU80 & using NMEA0183 to talk to the e120's. Can I continue to use the old autopilot with the new displays & NMEA0183 on the Axiom Pro? AC20 also has NMEA2000 capability I believe; would that be a better choice, or is there some reason the old pilot will not work?

[CA11] Getting speed on my chart display
I recently bought a boat with a raymarine e95. I searched the forums, but I cannot find the answer to this. My chart page only shows depth, and I cannot figure out how to add other data windows. I really just want speed, but cannot figure out how to add anything. I can configure the data page by long pressing on the display, but that only tries to create a waypoint on the chart screen, and when I long press on the customization page, it only brings up a window, but no list of options?
I am sure there is something simple I am missing, but i have played with it for a long time and cannot figure this one out.. Thanks for any help

[CA11] Maretron Fuel Sensors with Axiom
I'm going to add Maletron a FFM100 Fuel Flow Monitor with 2 (supply/return) M1AR Fuel Flow Sensors to each of my two Yanmar 6LYA-STP diesel engines. The port and starboard FFM100 Fuel Flow Monitors connect to a Maletron DSM410 Display. I've attached a drawing of this network configuration.
My Questions are:
1) Is it okay to build this network with NEMA 2000 componets and connect it to my Seatalk NG backbone? If so how? Or, should I use you NEMA 2000 to Seatalk NG converter cable for each of the FFM100s and the DSM410 as spurs on the existing Seatalk NG network?
2) I realize that I can't just add the powertap as shown. Can these Maletron components be powered by my Seatalk NG network as well?

[CA11] Upgrading from an E80 to Axiom 12
I have an E80 mounted on my sailboat's binnacle plus A/P ST6000+ and ST 60 depth, wind and speed instruments of that era connected to the E80 via seatalk.
I am going upgrade to an Axiom 12 (plus a radar) but I want to keep all the old instruments and A/P. It seems to me all I need is a single converter that converts the sea talk to Raymarine's version of nmea2000 and its output feeds the chart plotter. If that is so, what converter do I use? Where in the sea talk chain should I install the converter?
I plan on using the same A/P head that I have now..
Also, I am not sure wether to add a Sirius weather capability. I might want it later on. Is there anything I should add now that will make it easier to add Sirius later?
Thanks for your help.

May question is about difference between Ray260 and 260E. I know 260 is US version and 260E European, both of them can work and all thre bands sets USA, CAN, INT. So my question is what is difference between US and Euro version, its lack of ATIS function on US aro what exactly?
thanks,

Compatibility with SPX
I'm looking to replace our 6 year old e7d as it is getting rather erratic. The problem I'm having is with compatibility with our SPX autopilot. The Es75 series lists compatibility with the Evolution pilot, but no mention of SPX. Will the Es75 drive an SPX? Will any other Raymarine chartplotters have this capability? Do any Axioms drive autopilots?

Autopilot EV-150
I have a 2014 Striper with a 225hp and 15HO Hp Etec on it. Recently had a Axiom 9 combined with a EV-150 autopilot installed. Just had it out on Banks Lake, Wa. I have two basic questions. The first day I was able to get patterns working using my P70Rs however the second day I could not get any of the patterns to function. I did some recalibration or reinstallation the second day think it might have have done worse than good. Aside from my doing I think the high banks contributed to loosing some gps signal which probably did not help.
Basic questions;
1) Granted I lost some gps I still had some signal, will a little loss of signal cause the autopilot patterns mode to turn off entirely?
2) Is there any way to create multiple waypoints to follow? I setup 4 or 5 waypoints and set to follow but the autopilot would start to one waypoint and then ask to move onto the second, third or even the last one while bypassing the others. I am trying to set waypoints and follow contours to follow the coastline
PS. I could set one waypoint destination and at WOT ,pretty much, it will get me there.

i50 Depth a "Direct Replacement" for st60 Depth Issue
New to this forum, I look forward to solving my upgrade issues...
I bought an i50 depth to "directly replace" an out of order st60 head, and have found it to be less than "direct..."
True, the 3 transducer spades Do fit directly into the back of my new i50--and even beyond discovering that two of the horizontal mounting holes will need to be redrilled--a phone call to a Raymarine rep illuminated a further issue before my new i50 would display...Anything, at all.
The i50 Is Not a "stand alone" instrument as one would hope-- it's power must (apparently?) be provided by the seatalk-ng cable, according to the Raymarine Rep at the toll free line.
My problem seems to be that my old st60 system is (the original) seatalk (1?).
The rep over the phone told me I would need to purchase/install part # E22158...a Seatalk to Seatalk-ng Converter at the cost of around another $100. My research "outside this forum" indicated that all that was necessary was "some combination of adapter cables, cut and color-reconnected."
So what's the most efficient and least expensive way to really replace an i50 depth instrument in an existing st60 system?
My New i50 needs to be installed "inline" between 2 Female, flat, 3 pin plugs--but my i50/seatalk-ng was supplied with a 6" cable with Also a Female, but round connectors on each end.
Shy of "jury rigging" this as outlined on other sources, is there some sort of adapter cables with a round, Male connector on one end for the i50, and a Male, flat 3 pin connector on the other end, for quick, "plug and play?"
Or was the Raymarine on the phone correct-- a full seatalk converter is necessary for this to be a "direct replacement?"
Specific part numbers would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for the advice!

[CA11] A78 mfd screen is not working
This is the second year of this display, and when i turned it on for the first time, it has hundreds of vertical lines. It still works to send information to my other display. So i am able to wiev the transducer info, and the maps. I am able to power off, but can’t read what i am doing. I just know it is the same as the other. Is this something that can be repaired? How do i go about it?

[CA11] Explain any benefit of having gps data for Evolution autopilot
Hi,
We have just installed a Evolution autopilot with p70s and ACU-200, ev-1 core, type 1 mechanical linear drive and rudder reference transducer. All working well.
We are thinking of getting a new system pack to add wind, STW, and depth to the Seatalkng network. I understand the autopilot can make use of the wind and STW data. This seems straight forward to do.
I am also wondering about whether to provide gps data to the network/autopilot. We don’t have an MFD or anything like that.
What is not clear is if there is any benefit to the autopilot if it has gps data? I can’t find anything specific in the manual (may have missed it).
Can anyone explain if there is a benefit and what it is?
One specific question is whether the autopilot can be set to follow a gps heading rather than the magnetic heading provided by the ev-1.
Thanks

[CA11] Evolution Auto Pilot and powered back bone
I am installing these items: ACU 400,EV-1,, 3 i70s, ITC-5 running wind, speed and depth.
The previous setup was Axiom 12", Smart Pilot, 2 x St60 tridata, 1 x st60 wind with the powered backbone for nmea 2000/seatalk.
Do I still leave the power connected to the backbone? Or does the power for this come thru the ACU 400 autopilot now?
Thanks!

[CA11] Aligning compass to GPS
I have an Es 128 MFD with an EV 1 course computer purchased in 2018. My autopilot heading reading continues to be off 10 Degrees west from my MFD GPS COG heading. The autopilot heading is the correct one as it alignes with both shipboard and handheld compass indiccators. I have performed a linearization with a full 360 deg turn without an effect.
Likewise. I have attempted through pilot setup/commissioning rmenu to alogn the compass and GPS headings but this feature aborts everytime despite steadt heading. I finally reverted to adjusting the compass offset to 10 deg. This seems like a big difference. Am i missing something?

[CA11] Using proAIS2 with AIS500 transceiver
I have purchased a boat with an AIS500 transceiver. I have transferred the MMSI number from the previous owner, so no change in MMSI number.
From reading the forums, it appears that I can use the proAIS2 software to change vessel information, by connecting my laptop to the AIS unit with a USB cable.
Yesterday I looked at the AIS500 unit, and I do not see a USB port. Is there one that I missed somewhere? Do I need to connect differently? The only connections that I can see are for: 1) antenna, GPS, VHF, and power data.
Respectfully,
David
