[CA] Bluetooth audio control popup with v3.4

I upgraded to v3.4 and have been using it for a week. I have the Axiom paired via Bluetooth to my Fusion RA70 radio, and have found something annoying that happens while paired.

There is a control that comes down at the top of the screen for the Bluetooth volume. Whenever I am paired with the stereo, that control pops down into the screen every 10-15 seconds, even if there is no audio being played, no volume changes being made, etc.

I have tried unpairing, repairing, rebooting, etc. and it does not seem to go away. Anyone else seen this?

Interfacing a stereo head unit to a MFD running LightHouse 3 software

Raymarine Axiom/Axiom Pro and eS/gS-Series MFDs running LightHouse 3 v3.4.66 software are designed and tested for use with compatible Rockford Fosgate and Fusion marine entertainment systems having a NMEA 2000 communications interface. Please see Chapter 15.1 Audio app overview of the LightHouse 3.4 Advanced Operation Instructions for the list of Fusion and Rockford Fosgate entertainment system which have been tested and are supported for use with Raymarine MFDs running LightHouse 3 software. While Fusion 7xx Series True Marine stereo head units are manufactured with both Ethernet and NMEA 2000 communications interfaces, Raymarine Axiom/Axiom Pro and eS/gS-Series MFDs running LightHouse 3.4.6 software may only be interfaced to these marine entertainments systems via a powered and properly terminated SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone. A simple SeaTalkng backbone may be constructed from the following components:

- A06064 SeaTalkng 5-Way Connector
- A06031 SeaTalkng Termination Plugs x 2
- A06049 SeaTalkng Power Cable ... connected to 12VDC power circuit protected with a 5A fuse
- Fusion accessory unpowered NMEA 2000 Connection Cable ... not required for Fusion stereo head unit NMEA 2000 Cables terminated with a DeviceNet (M) plug
- A06045 0.4m SeaTalkng to DeviceNet (F) Adapter or A06075 1m SeaTalkng to DeviceNet (F) Adapter ... to be connected between the above listed unpowered Fusion NMEA 2000 Accessory Cable or the marine entertainment system's NMEA 2000 DeviceNet (M) plug and a spur socket of the SeaTalkng 5-Way Connector
- Axiom/Axiom Pro Data Master MFD: A06045 0.4m SeaTalkng to DeviceNet (F) Adapter or A06075 1m SeaTalkng to DeviceNet (F) Adapter
- eS/gS-Series Data Master MFD: an appropriate length of SeaTalkng Spur Cable to interface the MFD to a spur socket of the SeaTalkng 5-Way Connector.

[CA] Questions About Axiom and 3D RV

$

Hello Everyone!

Well I finally was able to get a boat! Now I just need to upgrade the not so good electronics that came with it. With that said I'm looking at the Axiom w/ RV. I'm undecided on screen size, but like everyone says bigger is better.

Questions.

1) Any Bass anglers currently using RV or is this application more for deep water?

2) When running these screens do I have to directly run power to my battery or could I use the power supply in the dash (currently have HB PiranhaMaxx)

3) Are these units in dash console mountable? All the vids and pictures I've seen they are mounted on the dash

4) Are these units network capatable with Dragon or axiom on the trolling motor?

Thanks in advance for the replies!

Hello,

We are adding Wind and Paddlewheel (STW) into our backbone data. I am curious if this added information will assist the Autopilot (EV400).

[CA] Install help needed for a CPT 110 Transducer

Hi all,

Looking to install a CPT-110 thru hull down vision transducer with plastic fairing block on my 1998 Carver 400 CMY this weekend.

Was wondering if someone could shoot me off tips and tricks for install. Is there a video for this? Cant really find one online that shows an install with a fairing block. Ive read thru the instructions.... got a few questions.

1. Can the fairing block be cut with a table saw instead of a band saw? I don't own a band saw.

2. Should I use 3M 4200 or 5200 adhesive for the job?

3. When drilling the [censored]..... Should I be drilling straight up into the boat perpendicular to the water line or straight into the boat so more like an angle? I believe my dead rise is 17 degrees.

4. Do I run silicone between the transducer and the bottom fairing block? Or just between the bottom fairing block and the bottom of the hull?

Thanks for the help!

I presently have a E7D and want to add a second display to split Radar etc. I read the Axiom system is not compatible and the E7D. And the E7D is no longer available. What product would you suggest?

Thanks

Autopilot compass shows 180 degrees off

Just on board our new boat with Raymarine Autopilot system.

The P70S Pilot head displays the course 180 degrees off. The plotter also displays the boat backwards. The autopilot does not work correctly attempting a lock turn as soon as its engaged.

The system includes P70S, EV1, ACU400 computer, Lewmar Mamba drive. We also have a rudder indicator which is working fine and displays the rudder movement correctly on the P70S. Its just the heading which is 180 degrees off.

I'm sure this is a simple setting somewhere but can't find it. Thanks for your help!

Hello,

I have ordered the i70s System Pack.

If the included cable is not long enough to go down the mast (to the ITC5)- can a cable of similar specification be used to extend the included one?

What are the specifications of this cable?

Thanks

[CA] WiFi as a raynet network

$

I have a very successful system with 2 e125s, ais, depth, radar, etc
I just purchased an a78 to use on the nav station
my question is: Can I use the WiFi capability to connect the a78 into the network. The a78 can, of course, connect to a server for updates, etc and the e125s can be a server for a iPad to connect.
So, can the a78 connect to the e125 and get gps, radar, etc from the network?

Of course I can connect to the reynet, even if it requires an additional hub, but that is more cabling etc.

What do you think ?

[CA] E125 Hybrid Touch MFD causing interference on VHF radio

My master E125 MFD (one of two; new in 2014) appears to cause interference on VHF radios (both the main unit aboard our boat and hand-held units). The interference pattern appears to be every 20 seconds or so and lasts a few seconds.

Anyone have any thoughts on what might be causing this, specifically, or if additional information is required from me to provide a better diagnostic picture?

[CA] RV-100 transducer

I just purchased a new Riverwild 25' open aluminum sled with a 250 yammie. It's a transom mount, RV-100, down vision, side vision and real vision. I can not get it to continually keep the depth located. I have a Raymarine 12 inch axiom pro. This isn't my first install of a transducer. I've tried all the normal stuff....distance from main motor, opposite side of kicker, not in line with the bottom strakes, up, down, left, right, middle of the transducer perfectly lined up with the bottom of the boat, angled up, tipped down, blah, blah, blah. I've moved it side to side 3 times and have literally left my trailer in the launch and reloaded the boat re-positioned the transducer, launched again, re-positioned, on and on. It's intermittent, I can sometimes track while increasing speed, sometimes not, sometimes track in deep water, other times not so much. I've had someone else run the motor and looked over the transom and can see how the mounting bracket might be putting air bubbles into the system. I'm assuming air is the problem. I've searched several sites with many people having the same problem, with no solution. I talked to someone today who said that they have several transducers, one to do each function. My next idea was to actually fabricate a plate that comes straight/parallel off the bottom of the boat and forms a 'U' shape around the transducer in hopes that the water would continue to go under the boat straight to the transducer without disturbing the water and adding unwanted air into the system. Some have said that it is just something you have to live with with these shallow draft sleds. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[CA] Some questions about raymarine products

Hi there, I've got some questions regarding raymarine products.
It seems like the focus is set on Axiom and for smaller boats in general,
So I wonder will there be any new gs products or glasshelm updates anytime soon?
Will there be an open array of the quantum 2 Doppler radar?

Also with the raymarine autopilot, if you plot a route somewhere with turns. Will it follow that route automatically or do the user have to approve every turn?

(DG) ACU-300 Ground - why is it important?

Hi,

I'm in the process of installing an ACU-300 (for solenoids) with rudder sensor, P70Rs and Tiller.

I have a hard time finding a decent connection for the ground pin. The documentation states, it should be connected to ship's ground (which is the steel hull, to which I don't have access at the location where the ACU is mounted) or directly to batterie's minus pole with a thick cable (wich is very complicated because the batteries are located somewhere else and there is no space to route a thick cable).

At the moment I've connected ground to minus of the ACU's power terminal. So ground is connected to batterie's minus (2,5qmm2 cable in 24V system), but not with a dedicated, direct cable.

Q1: Can you explain what's the reason the ACU has a ground pin in the first place?

Q2: What consequence could occur when Ground is simply connected to minus of ACU's power terminal?

Thanks!

[CA] i70s System Pack

I have ordered a i70s system pack and 2 supplementary i70s. Unfortunately, I have not received it yet, and my boat goes into the water this weekend for the summer season.
The i70s shall replace an Autohelm ST50 speed, ST50 depth and ST50 Wind.
1. Can I connect the wind vane from the ST50 to the iTC5, otherwise I must wait to set the mast?
2. Can I connect the speed sensor and the depth sensor from the ST50 instruments to the iTC5?

Dual Depth finder. I'm Baack

$

I posted last year about installing a second depth finder on my catamaran's other hull. Was ready to go for it after Chuck convinced me it should work, but some other problem($$) made me put on the back burner.

Back in business, looking about where I could put the sensor on the SBD hull, I found another one (kinda hidden) in it. Looks identical to the AIRMAR I have on PORT next to my AIRMAR speed/temp sensor. No other mark but the brand on top of it. The perfect location for it ???

If the PORT one failed, it would make sense to replace it in the same [censored], no?
So before I start dismantling my cockpit to assess which electric wire is in use, I got this 'Eureka'. Both sensors feed my ST60 tridata instrument and it figures which one shows the shallowest of my hulls. Right? Pretty Please.

Add ST60+ to E80

I have an older E80 display with SeaTalk and am looking at adding the ST60+ Wind instrument to it.

Will the ST60+ show true wind on its display?

Will true wind appear in the chartplotter?

Is there a newer wind instrument that would also work with the E80?

Thanks.

[DG] New VHF Channels, will i be able to upgrade my firmware on a Ray 240E?

$

As a proud owner of a Raymarine 240E, i came across this page: https://www.icomuk.co.uk/News_Article/3508/19370/

Long story short:
Changes to Channels 19, 20, 78, and 79 Marine VHF Usage
Due to the increased need for marine VHF channels for commercial use, a recent ITU World Radio Conference authorised and developed a new channel plan for the following VHF marine radio frequencies.

Channels 19, 20, 78, and 79, which were duplex have now been split into 8 simplex channels numbered 1019, 2019, 1020, 2020, 1078, 2078, 1079, and 2079. This new channel plan took effect January 1, 2017.

So, the question is:
Will i be able to upgrade (send to tech support, i guess) to this new VHF channel set, when the time comes?
