[CA] Axiom LH3 & Data Overlays

Hello,

I would like please the ability to add a data overlays from the engine on the chart screen (in particular Engine temp). Currently only navigation overlays are available on the chart screen.

Hi,

I am having 4 Axiom 12" screens installed on my new Azimut, 2 upper helm and 2 lower helm. I have read that the sd card reader is on the back of the unit. How do I install the Navionics Platinum + card chart and any updates since the slot is not visible?

I have been reading in several sites that theres the posibility of other brands that gopro or garmin virb style cameras can connect to multifunction displays and show the video, Any chances in the axiom 9?

[MB] Solenoid Operated Bypass Valve

I have a sailboat with hydraulic steering and an Autohelm 7000 autopilot. Instead of a reversing hydraulic pump, the previous owner chose to install a mechanical linear drive with a separate, dedicated tiller arm. The attachment shows the layout.

A solenoid operated bypass valve is fitted close to the hydraulic ram which appears to be a 2 way/2 position valve in the normally closed position. The autopilot works correctly when the drive unit is detached from the tiller arm but when attached it tries but fails to move the rudder. I'm assuming that the bypass valve is failing to open and this is why the drive cannot move the rudder.

I planned to replace the valve and searched the Raymarine manuals to find a recommended part number. In the Hydraulic Pump Installation Guide (Doc#81178-5, p.18) I found a different but similar situation which recommended bypass valve M81167. This appears to be a 4 way/3 position valve typically used with continuously operating pump and does not look suitable for my application or the one in the manual referenced above.

Does Raymarine have a 2 way/2 position valve for my application or am I best off with a third party product.

[CA] Wireless Remote Control of Autopilot EV-150

Just had a Axiom 9 MFD + a RMK-10 and a EV-150 autopilot. I would like a wireless way to control the autopilot from the back of my boat. I found the Raycontrol, Rayviewer and Rayremote apps but only the viewer and remote can be downloaded to my iphone. I see I can use my ipad but do not really want to take that out fishing.

1) Is there anything I can do to get the app on my iphone?

2) Is there an alternative wireless remote option?

[CA] Dragonfly legacy multi displays with 1 transducer

Has anyone been able to add another display using the same transducer. I have a legacy 7 with a cpt 60 Tm and would love to add another either 4/5" or 6/7" display so others can view while on the boat. If so what have you done to do this?

I spent several months in Baja using the D5 in saltwater on my aluminum hulled inflatable. the supplied transom mounted transducer worked great at low trolling speeds but when trolling at 5mph and above it increasing develops lack of definition or "snow", and once at planning speed it completely blacks out. I presume from propwash. numerous repositioning of the transducer did little to help the problem.
so my questions are :
- should a thru hull transducer cure this problem?
- which transducers will work fully with the D5?
- the hull is a shallow - 10Degree or so - v, no steps, so how does one install the thru hull so it is parallel to the water surface?
- will testing the location of the transducer in the water filled bag work in an aluminum hull?
- I believe, according to westmarine, that one of the dragonfly compatable transducers that had a plastic body, has been discontinued?Why???

and i'll be heading to the lake friday to get it wet hopefully. can someone tell me where i can get maps of my lake for use in my unit. forgive me i'm brand new with raymarine but i've liked what i've seen. if this post is wrongfully placed, moderators feel free to relocate it. also being new tips, tricks and all to get better use of my unit are appreciated.
about me i'm single 62 years old, i just bought last summer a mini pontoon 16 ft. with 40 johnson and trolling motor and i love it. i am retired and disabled from work but i do try to earn my keep as weekend fee collector at cowhide cove on lake greeson near murfreesboro ar. i live onsite from this weekend until labor day week. if any one camps or fishes greeson say hello please.

[CA] Electronics Upgrade

Hello,

I have a 2003 Regal 3880.
40’ long, 13’ beam.
Steering cylinder = 10.2 cubic inches.

I am planning to upgrade my electronics as follows:
Axiom Pro 12 S w/NAG E70482-00-NAG
CPT-S Bronze 20 degree transducer E70341
Quantum Chirp Radar T70243
Ray 70 VHF
Cam 220 Marine camera E70347
Indicator E70327
Auto Pilot —either—
EV-200 T70156
EV-150 T70330
My system diagram is attached.
Questions:
1. Any corrections needed on the diagram.
2. Auto Pilot. EV-150 or EV-200. I plan to use the existing type 1 pump and rudder reference.
3. Camera. What cable is needed? Does the camera need it’s own 12 V power source.
4. Can I display engine data from 2003 Volvo gas engines?

[CA] LightHouse 3rd Party Apps

With the new 3.4.66 update on my Axiom 9 I see there are 3 apps already installed; Netflix, Spotify and Theyr. If more companies develop 3rd party apps, where will they be listed and by what method will they be installed? For apps on my iPad I can go to the Apple Store and my Samsung phone has Google Play. Will Raymarine make the apps available on their website or will they be downloaded into the Axiom app page directly from the 3rd party website?

There is no web browser app available on the Axiom App page so far but I found I can access a web browser (not sure which one but it does use tabs) if I open the Spotify app and go to their settings page then press on their web support link. I’m curious, is Raymarine going to actively solicit 3rd party apps (like a web browser app from, let’s say Google Chrome) or will developers need to seek out Raymarine to develop apps that will work with the Axiom.

Hello, I have an AIS650 which I plan to install into my system.
My Seatalk ng backbone is powered from my Evolution Autopilot. Does the AIS650 require its own power supply or can it be powered from the spur cable?

[CA] e120 to RS130

I have acquired 2 e120s and and and a rs130 gps. The e120s are networked together with a DSM300 and work fine, although I am waiting for new transducers to arrive to test it out. I am quite willing to purchase everything I need to connect a SeaTalkNG backbone to the SeaTalk 2 network and I know what I need, but I would like to test the RS130 with the NMEA 0183 network as I have pigtails to fit and I cannot find consistent wiring diagrams. I have a fairly good idea what would work, I am concerned about damage.

RS130 GPS CableNMEA Cable on E120
Yellow to white
Green to Yellow (probably no data on this line)
Shield to Brown and Green to DC -ve
Shield floating if connected to e120 internally
Brown floating
Red to +12V

I would like to know if I am correct

I have a P79 connected to my MFD. After 5 or 6 hours the depth desapear and - - - show. If I switch OFF on ON again, all work fine for another 5 hours.
Any idea of the trouble: the MFD or the sensor?

[CA] Data transfer to/from a C140W

I just bought a used C140W and also the Navionics charts for my area. Both seem to work well.

Does anyone have any experience with using Raytech navigator (version 6.2) For planning only. I would like to be able to create and save routes on the Raytech software (installed on a win7 PC) and somehow transfer them to the MFD. The trick would seem to be getting my purchased chart card to work with the Raytech software so I could actually make routes that were accurate. The "base" charts on Raytech navigator are not detailed enough to create good routes.

The Navionics chart card came with a USB to Compact flash adapter. I am able in Raytech navigator to export to C-E series format, which would seem to be what I need. My guess is that I would just need a blank CF card and copy the file(s) to that and then import Them into the MFD.

I have searched for similar issues, but most of the answers were not applicable to what I'm trying to do.

[CA] AIS 650 Use With AIS PersonOverBoard Devices

I have an e7 MFD at the helm and an AIS650 and Ray 260 DSC VHF.

1) Can the system receive signals from life vest AIS Survivor Recovery devices such as the McMurdo Smartfind S20 and display the target on the e7?

2) Can I install an AIS Lifeguard MOB Alarm using the NMEA wires from the AIS650? All the Raymarine gear is on the STng bus, and I would just be feeding the alarm with the NMEA data to alert the offwatch if a single watchstander goes overboard.

Axiom to Yamaha Engine Trouble

I have a 2018 Yamaha F115 vmax and the axiom 9. I have my engine hooked up to the axiom and it says unknown engine error a couple of different times every time i start the engine. I am using Raymarine E70242 Yamaha Command-Link Plus Cable connected directly to the motor plug pig tail and a NMEA Network Starter Kit, Model 124-69(Dont know who made this). Can someone tell me how to hook this up so it gets no error.
