[CA] Wireless IP camera to a98 MFD

Since the a98 has wifi connectivity, is it possible to connect to a wifi enabled camera (that is onvif and rtsp streaming enabled) and display it as an IP camera on the a98 camera page? Would make life alot easier rather than having to attach each camera over ethernet cable.

[CA] Easy question! looking for a replacement plug for AIS100

Hi guys,
In moving my electronics over to my new boat I seem to have misplaced the plug for my AIS100. Does anyone have a part number for a replacement so I can order one up? Failing that, does anyone know which pins are power and ground so I can power the unit up? I don't use the FM radio lead anyhow so power is all I really need, I am sure I can round up a plug down at the electronics supply place down the road.

Thanks as always!

[CA] AXIOM Pro Micro SD Cards

I have an AXIOM Pro 12 RVX unit installed in my system and have a question about Micro SD card compatibility.

The existing Navionics Platinum+ Chart Micro SD is a SDSC 8 GB chip in slot 1 (upper slot). I put a SanDisk Micro SDXC 64GB in Slot 2 (for video recording and snapshots) but the AXIOM camera configuration menu said Slot 2 was (empty). I powered off the AXIOM, reversed the two chips, powerd on, confirmed the Nav Charts worked, and checked the camera configuration menu. Now it said Slot 1 (the slot with with SDXC chip) was empty.

The Lighthouse 3 manual says the SDXC should be compatible but I am thinking maybe not?? Please clarify.

Thanks,

Jon

[CA] autohelm linear drive

My Autohelm 6000 linear drive S2 has started making sound like there is gravel inside the drive piston. I have completely disassembled the linear drive unit down to just the piston. Gears are OK, motor is OK. When I pull the shaft/piston with worm threads in and/or out there is a gravel sound and it is not a smooth motion. Feels like it could jam easily. My understanding is that there are ball bearings inside but am afraid of taking it apart further without knowing what I'm doing. Sailing south but presently stuck in Charleston, SC as I am single handed and don't like sailing without autohelm.

Largest capacity microSD memory cards for Axiom & Axiom Pro MFDs

Per Section 3.5 Memory card compatibility of the LightHouse 3.2 Advanced Opeartion Instructions, microSD memory cards of the following capacities may be used with Axiom and Axiom Pro MFDs:

For best performance it is recommended that owners use brand name Class 10 or UHS (Ultra High Speed) class memory cards or better. As indicated within the chart above microSD memory cards having memory capacities greater than 32GB will often be formatted with an exFAT file system. Some microSD memory card manufacturers are now formatting lower capacity microSD memory cards with a exFAT file system. Accordingly, it is recommended that the properties of any microSD memory cards (other than Navionics or C-Map chart cards) to be used with Axiom and Axiom Pro MFDs be checked to ensure that they have been formatted with a FAT32 or NTFS file system. MicroSD memory card formatted with an exFAT file system will need to be reformatted with a FAT32 or NTFS file system before being used with an Axiom or Axiom Pro MFD.

If seeking a microSD memory card for storage for LightHouse Charts raster chart, it is typically recommended that the microSD memory card have a capacity of 16GB - 32GB. If seeking a microSD memory card for updating product software, it is typically recommended that the microSD memory card have a capacity of not less than 4GB be used.

[CA] NMEA 0183 Connections

I need to connect the NMEA-0183 output of a Raystar 125 to an e165.
The GPS has a single yellow output lead whereas the MFD has + and - input leads. If I connect the yellow output lead from the GPS to the + input lead on the MFD, what should I do with the - input lead?

[CA] Interfacing eS-128 to Existing NMEA 2K temp sensor

Hi , How do I display the temperature of an existing NMEA 2k Temp sensor on my eS-128 MFD. This happens to be an ambient air temp. I had an existing NMEA 2K network that is now connected to the eS-128. I see the temp sensor in the NMEA 2k diagnostics . I haven't been able to figure out how to display the temp on a either a chart as an overlay or elsewhere.
Thanks

[CA] Axiom screen frozen

For the 2nd time now my weeks old Axiom 7 MFD has frozen on me. The screen does not react to touch and the power button is also dead. The unit is 2 software updates behind but the last 2 updates were for the Axiom Pro only so I didn't bother.

Any leads? Return it? Currently in Grenada at anchor depending on the anchor alarm to wake me up in a squall so I I'm not getting a real warm fuzzy right now. I am repowering my old e7 as a backup. The old e7 has a screen problem so I upgraded to the Axiom. BTW the alarm is way too low in volume to be useful and there is no screen saver/dimmer like the e7 that would return to normal brightness with an alarm.

Axiom 9 USB Connection

Hi all,

Could someone please confirm the Axiom 9 MFD USB accessory connector socket type. Is it a standard Type A mini or micro female socket?

I may need to run a longer cable between the MFD and a card reader.

Many thanks,
Ian.

[TG] Advice - Experience with WiFish

Hello All - I used the Wi-Fish feature for the first time via a Dragonfly Pro and it appears to be very useful. It seems to be a means to get much more screen for very few if any dollars. (since I have a tablet laying around).

I would like to see the map + sonar + down scan so I'm thinking of using the tablet for sonar/down scan split screen and the Dragonfly for mapping. If I recall correctly the Wi-Fish does not share the map view, just sonar / down vision.

Please share you experiences or ideas for using Wi-Fish, in my case I am bass fishing. For this test I had the tablet connected to my console unit so when at the front I could see the rear transducer image as well as the trolling motor mounted unit on it's screen. I wonder if there is an advantage to leaving it this way?

Thanks in advance

Radar Software Level for System Upgrade

I am reviewing my system in preparation for replacing the currently installed C140W MFDs with e165 MFDs. System diagnostics show the radar software status as:
Digital HD Open Array B8401A59 V2.24 10.3.14.120
Are there any special or specific steps I should take regarding the radar as part of the e165 MFD installation?

(DG) Axiom and older wheel pilot and displays

I'm hoping to go with and Axiom 9 and wondering if it will recognize and/or interface with my ST4000+ wheelpilot. If so, what features might I expect to get on the MFD ? I understand my ST60 displays will work with it as well should I choose to keep them ? Install is on a 36' sailboat built 2001

Thanks in advance for your help

R19 software update, zip file for eS127

I am in the process of downloading R19 for my eS127 to my 32GB card.

The instructions state:

Note: You are only opening the ZIP file that is downloaded. You cannot open the files contained in the ZIP file, these have extensions such as .dob .pkg .sh .sh.sig with various file names

The R19 zip file downloaded (ending in iso.zip) when accessed has numerous files, txt files, sig files, upgrade files, release note files, etc and includes a zip file ending in ATOM.zip.

I have attached a screen shot of the file contents.

1. Do I copy the entire set of these files from the iso.zip shown on the screen shot to the root directory or do I open the zip file contained in the downloaded set of files from the initial zip file and only copy the zip file contents ending ATOM.zip

Dragonfly transducer in outboard well

$

Hi. I have a double-ender flat-bottomed sailboat with an outboard well, and am looking at a Dragonfly 7 Pro. In trying to avoid a transducer thru-hull (because thru-hulls are freaky), I'm pondering installing the Dragonfly transducer in the outboard well, flush-mounted on the bottom of the boat. (It would be in the white photoshopped area on the attached image, slightly ahead of the outboard shaft and to the side.)
Do you think this might work, or will I get problems from the outboard?

Thank you in advance for any help. I'd really like to get rid of a thru-hull.

I was at the Chicago Boat show this weekend and saw a boat with a Samsung 27" Television that was showing the exact same data that was on the boat's Axiom Pro 12.

How can I do this?
