[CA] Axiom Pro Adapter Plates

I am considering upgrading my C140W system to the Axiom Pro line. I noted the availability of adapter plates for certain equipment combinations. Specifically:
A80533 Axiom Pro 16 adapter plate for legacy E140W / e165 MFDs
Fixing holes: New
Model: Axiom Pro 16 (All variants)

Will this plate also adapt the C140W?

Is there an actual photo or dimensional drawing available for this product?

Are there any photos available of an Axiom Pro mounted in an adapter plate?

[CA] Axiom Pro Transducer and Chart Considerations

I am considering upgrading my C140W system to the Axiom Pro line. For the time being, I plan to continue using the existing depth / temperature transducer, an Airmar B164(MM) connected to a DSM30. I would like to eliminate the DSM30 however the existing transducer cable is not long enough to reach the MFD.

1) Am I correct in assuming I can extend the existing transducer cable with an E66010 and that the extension will connect directly to an RVX Pro using the A80489 pigtail adapter?

2) Is there a maximum recommended length of cabling connecting a traditional transducer such as the B164 directly to an Axiom Pro?

The boat has upper and lower helms with a C140W at each. If I installed a Pro RVX (w/NAG) at the lower helm as per above, then it would seem installing an S variant at the upper helm would be advantageous from a price and flexibility viewpoint.

3) Are there any technical issues mixing variants?

4) What are the main considerations in choosing between the base S and the S w/LNC for the second helm in this scenario?

I had sent this unit in because it was not recognizing the depth sounder and it came back working. Since then it continually jumps all over the chart when I am using it. It will ask if I want to change course. The boat icon jumps all over the screen. The chart will change from the view I want to maximum view at any time. In effect, the touch screen is either unusable or it is jumping all over the place. I is acting like it is possessed if that makes any sense. Is there anything I can do to make this better. I am sailing around the world, cannot go without one again. I need this plotter to work and be consistent. What can you do for me?

Hi,

(3) Axiom 9 new update is NOT available?
I was playing with my new Axiom 9 RV 3d sonar with RV100 transducer over the holidays, and noticed I don't have the newest update LightHouse 3.2.101 so I tried to upgrade but the server was not available?

Why?

Hello:

I'm after the firmware to upgrade my C-80, but the software updates page has been off, showing the following message:

"Customer Notice, Software updates for Raymarine products are not currently available. Please visit this page at a later date to download any updates"

For at least two weeks now.

Does anyone have any idea when it will be working again please?

[CA] EV-200 Sport autpilot

Hi, I have 23' Stratos Bluewater walkaround that I would like to add an autopilot to. Its powered by an OMC Cobra 5.7l with power assisted mechanical/cable steering and a 9.9 Yamaha 4 stroke kicker motor.. I have my kicker attached to the main drive with an EZ Steer setup.. I troll 85% of the time with my big motor shut off and just (dry) steer the drive to steer the kicker.. The other 15% of the time I would troll on the big motor with trolling bags because its really rough..

My question is, will an EV-200 Sport system effectively (dry) steer the drive/kicker without the main motor running for power assist?? I troll for salmon on Lake Ontario and all I really need the autopilot for is to hold the boat straight on a heading so I can set gear or net fish.. I have looked at systems that will steer just the kicker independently but that won't work for when I need to run the main motor..

Hopefully thats not too confusing

Thanks

Adam

[CA] handset problem

Hello, I just got my Raymic 60 handset today for my VHF 60 v1.35. I attached the handset to the back of the unit first to test it and all I got was a pink screen. I don't know what software version it is because it does not display anything. I would think a new unit would have the proper software but anyway, what can I do to make this thing work?

[CA] VDO Transducer

I know this is a long shot.
I have an old VDO electronic speedo, which died long ago, with a through hull transducer.
Could this be somehow linked to my C120W via the SeaTalkng system?
Or would the Raymarine transducer fit the same aperture?
Thanks,
Mike

(DG) Deck mounting kit (A80437)?

What is the advantage of using the Deck mounting kit (A80437) instead of just mounting the Micro-Talk directly to the deck? Better protection? Water resistance? Also can it be mounted on the sloping deck forward of the mast?

[CA] Type 400 S3G course computer only works in the tropics!

My course computer works fine when it's in the tropics, but not in colder temperatures. Seriously.

After powering up and activating the autopilot, the drive freezes position for 10-15 seconds, then the controller displays a current limit error. Hours later, it starts working normally and continues indefinitely in a normal state. After this failure, if I warm the controller with an electric heater, it returns to a normal working state. Also, if I pre-warm the controller with the heater before powering up the system, the computer functions normally at startup. Systematic troubleshooting eliminated other causes, including removing and bench-testing the M81131 Type 2 short drive.

Is this a familiar problem with a predictable fix, or is it really as weird as it sounds?
Assuming no predictable/reliable fix, what are my options for (hopefully plug-and-play) replacement?

Specs:
Course Computer 400 - E 12055 0520152
with post-manufacture notes indicating
"(S3G), "Added Rate Gyro Processor in 2012" "software updated to V 4.19"

Other system components:
C80 MFD (have E80 ready to install to replace C80)
RD424 Radome
ST60+ Wind
ST60 TriData
ST6002 Controller
Raystar 125 GPS

Thanks, Mike

What is the most appropriate size for a micro sdcard. I am a cruiser and will have up to 100 routes stored containing hundreds of way points.

Also, once I have the card, is this where I copy updated operating system files to be used to update the software on my Axiom 9?

Current limit reported by autopilot control head or MFD

Current limit reported by autopilot control head or MFD

The current limit error reported by the autopilot's control head or MFD (supporting Autopilot Controls) may be indicative of one of the following:
- a failing drive unit: As the components of a drive unit wear, the drive unit will typically draw more current.
- a failing course computer / actuator control.

Fault isolation is typically performed by performing testing the current draw of the unloaded drive unit. To do so, the drive unit will need to be disconnected from the vessel's steering system. The drive unit's motor leads will be disconnected from the course computer / ACU and a current measuring instrument will be installed on the power lead. One of the drive unit's motor leads will be connected to ground and the other to a 12V or 24V circuit (circuit based on whether the drive unit was designed for a 12V or 24V power). The leads will then be reversed, permitting the drive to be tested in the opposite direction. Should the unloaded drive unit draw more than 6A when driven in either direction, then the drive unit should be replaced or sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center to be bench checked / serviced. However, should the drive unit not draw more than 6A in either direction when so powered, then the autopilot course computer / ACU should be replaced or sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center to be bench checked / serviced.

(DG) a125 randomly reboots

On three separate occasions my Raymarine a125 MFD just reboots. Sadly this happened twice on night crossings and was very unexpected.

I am running the latest version of the software, so I do not believe that to be an issue.

For troublshooting:

Are there any logs kept anywhere?
I have my Raymarine behind a firewall, and I can see that the MFD is connected to imap.gmail.com very often. Is it sending updates when an internet connection is available?

Anyone have similar issues, or know of troubleshooting steps?

Recently one of the ST70s lost any customised settings and does not save any settings changes when powered off.
Is there an internal battery that needs replacing?

Confirm what screen the a125 reboots to. Does it restart at the same point of use, for example straight back into the chart or radar app which you were previously using, or does it reboot to the initial Raymarine Splashscreen (the original start up screen that appears when the unit is first powered on) ?

If rebooting to the Raymarine Splashscreen, then the likely cause is power supply related, it could be a loose power cable connection, a damaged or trapped cable, a faulty fuse holder or isolating switch, or even low battery voltage, another possible cause could be Electrical interference, click here for more information.

If rebooting to the page that you were just using, then the cause could be software related or a faulty unit. You could try to reload the latest software, available from the Raymarine Website and then carry out a full factory reset,, click here for instructions .

If the fault persists, temporarily remove the chart card to see if this stops the rebooting, possibly the chart card is faulty, also turn off the SONAR LOG in MENU/ PRESENTATION/ DEPTHS AND CONTOURS.

If none of the above is successful, Then the MFD should be sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center
