C120W chart spins in circles

Hello!

We have been having an intermittent issue with our C120W chartplotter. The chart starts turning 360. This does not occur all the time. if the autopilot is on at the time it gets confused and takes a hard turn. Also, noticed for the first time the other day that the position and orientation of the boat was not correct on chart while at anchor. Don't know if that's related, or a new problem. Any suggestions?

Dock to Dock routing problem

I have an e95 chartplotter, Navionics+ chip and Ev-100 wheel pilot on my boat. I tried dock to dock routing for the first time last weekend. The e95 plotted a route that showed exactly what I would have done manually, so that part worked fine. I told it to follow the route and all went well for the first 30 minutes or so. Then the boat wandered off the route and I had to go to standby to avoid running aground. When I restarted the route, it wanted to do a 180° turn to go back so I gave up.
1. Any suggestions as to why it would lose the route along the way?
2. If it does wander off course and needs to be restarted, what should one do? Should it pick up the route again, or will it try to go back to the start?

Axiom 12 RV Time Offset Issue with RS150

I am using a RS150 for GPS position data because the installation location of my Axiom 12 does not provide a sufficient GPS fix using the built-in GPS sensor.

Using the current Axiom software (v3.1.96) the setting of the UTC time offset will not survive a power cycle. I have to manually reset the UTC time offset every time I power on the unit.

After the update of v3.1.96 on the Axiom 12 RV I am no longer able to access the configuration screen (i.e. compass offset) of the autopilot on the ST70 when the Axiom 12 is powered on. If I power on the ST70 with the Axiom 12 powered off I am able to access the screen up until the time I power on the Axiom 12.

Triducer replacement for Tacktick mn30

I have a Tacktick mn30 system installed in 2011. The knotmeter has started showing zero all the time, even though the wheel is spinning freely.

Any options apart from getting a new transducer?

If replacing the transucer, should I get the DST800 smart transducer or the DST800 analogic? The current transducer is connected to the hull transmitter with separate wires for depth and speed.

Ray 230 update

From what I have been reading in the Forum, I have a Ray 230 and it appears I can't replace the handset but must replace the whole unit. So, what is the recommended replacement? Will I have to replace the External Speaker as well? I presume that the antenna fitting will work on the suggested replacement.

While I'm at it, I have just purchased my 2003 420 Sundancer and don't know where the hailer is located -- assuming all such vessels came with a hailer, will the suggested Ray 230 replacement connect to the hailer?

Hi, My depth contours have gone missing. I've tried all the settings under chart cartography with no success. Any suggestions on how to get this working would be much appreciated.

I am installing an eS127 and an eS78 connected via Ethernet/seatalkHS. There is also a NMEA 2000 spur connected to the eS127. Two questions:

1. Is it necessary for the NMEA 2000 network to be connected to the data master?

2. Must the depth transducer be connected to the data master?

Hi,
i have a ray70 which i installed in 2015, and have updated the software in.
recently i stopped receiving all data from seatalk ng connected devices at my a75 and i70. after removing each device one at a time i found that everything worked properly when the ray70 was disconnected. the vhf radio appears to be working.

any suggestions? i beleive i registered the radio so it might still be under warranty.

Fluid Level Sensors - Maretron or Garmin

Question for those of you who have added the Maretron TLA100 or Garmin GFL 10..

How did you configure them?? According to each manufacturer, you must use one of their compatible devices to configure the Fluid Level Sensors...

I have not seen 1 post that says a Raymarine device, specifically a MDF, can configure either of these 2, so what are you guys doing to configure them?

Im looking to add these on top of my analog gauges to be able to display the data through the NMEA2000 network to my ES97.

Some of the configuration points that I see as important for configuring are...

Tank Type
Tank Number
Operating Mode
Tank Capacity
Resistive Sender
Calibrating

I dont have a Maretron or a Garmin in my System, just a ES97 and i70s... So what is everyone doing?

Lighthouse III Oil Pressure Data

Hi guys... I have an e127 and Axiom 12 RV installed on my helm. Both units are running the latest software available. I'm using a Mercury NMEA 2000 gateway to provide engine data to both MFDs.

On the e127, all engine data is present, including oil pressure. However, the Axiom is not showing oil pressure (see attached pics).

I've tried to edit the page to see if there are other oil pressure options available, however, the circular engine data graphic that contains the gears, oil, water, RPM info, does not appear to be editable.

Any thoughts or suggestions on how to get the Axiom to display oil pressure?

I will be replacing my 1999 Raymarine systems with all new stuff. The boat is a 1999 Sea Ray 370 express. Here is what I am considering:

2 - Axiom 12 displays
1 - Evo - T70154 - ECU 100 - Autopilot
1 - Quantum Q24C 18” Radar

Here is question. The boat is specifically used for Salmon Fishing on Lake Michigan.

What is the best option?

Option 1 CP470 with dual Transducers?

Option 2 Utilize one of the Axiom's with its fish finder and dual transducers for 3d?

Option 3 CP570 with dual Transducers?


My old boat had a CP300(w b60) and a CP100 with 2 C12's. The performance was ok for both. Not as good as I expected.

Please let me know what the best cost effective option will be.

First let me apologize for my keyboard. My zero key has stopped working, so I'm forced to use an O in place of my zero. I have an e95 chart plotter, i7O, p7O, EV-1, EV-4OO autopilot, iTC-5, ST-6O, and Airmar speed and depth transducers. My electronics package was installed (or he had it installed, not sure] by the previous owner in 2o15. It was a brokered sale and I never met the previous owner. After purchase I discovered that there were tons of little issues with the electronics not quite working right. The autopilot would randomly make unexpected turns. The heading is always around 2o degrees off from what my compass says. The boat on the chart plotter display doesn't point in the direction I'm traveling, but I'm guessing off about the same degrees as the heading is from the compass, so as a result the chart plotter shows the boat going slightly sideways through the water. Last Saturday my software updated for my autopilot, and after it restarted the rudder sensor was reversed. Some times my heading reading is different on my e95 and my p7O, although that one hasn't happened lately. I thought my heading and random turn issues might have been due to the fact that the EV-1 was mounted with my compass 6 inches on one side, and a 6x9 speaker with large magnet 1.5 feet on the other side, so I bought a longer spur cable and moved it so it is more than 3 feet from anything magnetic, but the issues are still the same.

On my last few runs, I've gotten messages on the A12 when I go to look at downvision about low voltage.

I confirmed voltage at the connection to my fuse block between 13.4 and 14.7 variant on if on chargers or running. This is where the stock wiring of my A12 plugs in.

When I look at the maintenance/device detail, I see at low as 11 or 10 - when at the connection - it's the 13-14v.

I have an A7 also in this configuration, and see similar.

Why would the voltage at the wire connection show OK - but the displays are complaining about low voltage?

Just installed the cp-200 I am not sure if I am getting the proper image . What's the is there a way to calibrate or adjust on the fly the image being received. The first picture what I was seeing when first selected that transducer the second image is after reset. The screen cleared black lines but not so sure of what I was seeing I was sitting in the water beside a channel marker

I presently have a C120W mfd and a C90W mfd along with an older Furuno radar and an Autohelm 6000. Looking to replace and upgrade. I live aboard my LeComte Fastnet 45 yawl and sail coast of Maine in the summer and Bahamas/Caribbean in the winter. Essentially, lower power consumption of new Raymarine mfd's and quantum radar are very important for me. Present thought is that going with Quantum radar wireless would save me a lot of the installation costs along with price difference of $1000 ($1500 for quantum vs $2500 for HD digital.) Savings on installation and price difference between quantum and HD digital radome gives me around $1500-$2000 to purchase new 12" and 7" mfd. Might be able to add a little more $$$ but not much. Looking at buying refurbished units from Raymarine but need direction/recommendation as to differences between C series, E series, eS series and ??. Last, a couple of other considerations - want to add Weather (sirius xm and GRIB) and AIS (overlay on chart). Would be nice to interface autohelm with navigational mfd but assume none of it would be salvagable to use with new electronics.

ITC-5 i70s Wind Depth Sensors

I have been having erratic operation of the wind and depth sensors for two years now . I have replaced everything. Sometimes the wind speed and/or direction drops out. Sometimes the depth drops out. I have two i70s instruments, the GPS location form the 150 shows on one but not the other display. I have a new AIS 650 installed, the AIS shows on the same good i70s but on the other it says the AIS is off. The i70s's are connected to a SeatalkNG to Seattle converter. The Seattle spur is then connected to the 6001 autopilot. I noticed on the ITC-5 they are flashing led green lights, what does this mean? The backbone is installed correctly. I replaced the ITC-5 with another brand new one, and the problems with the instruments got worse. Except for the one Seattle spur to the autopilot everything is SeattleNG now. As both the wind and depth are intermittent it has been almost impossible to debug this. Everything on the SeatalkNG backbone is now new except the autopilot. I have removed the autopilot from the backbone but the wind and depth are still intermittent. What steps should I take? Could this be an issue with a noisy or bad ground?

Unable to power down C97 just restarts

This spring I had the Control knob and keypad replaced since it was malfunctioning, since then I have been unable to power down my MFD. Every time you attempt to power down the MFD it just restarts. I wait for the count down when it looks like it is going to shut down, the unit just restarts. What can be going wrong?

I have read a bunch of the FAQ's and still am unclear of all the parts I need to purchase. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

My boat has:
ST 4000+ autopilot
ST60 depth
ST60 Wind
ST60 Knot

I just purchased a C95 unit and mounting pod.

I purchased the Raymarine Seatalk1 To Sea Talk-Ng Converter kit to connect the C95 to my current system

What else do I need to order?
Extra cables, etc?

I am unclear on what cables I need to connect the ST 60 instruments in series (as shown in the converter kit manual) prior to connecting that one segment to the converter?

It appears the converter manual indicates the autopilot must be connected to the converter separately ?
