E120 DSM issues

I have an E120 classic 2009. When I throttle up , anything over 2000 rpm, I lose my signal and don't get a bottom reading or any sonar. It randomly goes out while drifting as well. Any suggestions on the issue?

Axiom 9 Displays EV-1 Magnetic Heading Incorrectly?

I have an Axiom 9 networked to an EV-1/ACU-100 Wheel Pilot via a STng network. The EV-1 is the only source of heading info and the Axiom is the only source of GPS info. EV-1 compass linearization was performed successfully (4 degrees of deviation – the iNstall you recommended from Gemeco worked great to drive the deviation down), and I have good agreement between the ship’s compass and the EV-1 magnetic bearing displayed on the p70s (within a degree) and so did not perform an "Align Compass GPS". Axiom has v3.1.96, EV-1 v1.11, ACU-100 v1.12 and p70s v3.06.

When in True bearing mode, the EV-1 “value in use” from the Data Sources menu on the Axiom and the p70s agree exactly. When Magnetic bearing mode is then selected at the Axiom, the magnetic heading displayed on the p70s and the ship’s compass agree to within a degree, but the Axiom incorrectly displays the magnetic heading. The Axiom appears to be consistently doubling the local magnetic variation then adding that value to the true heading value. I have not noticed any additional “crab angle” of the ships icon when in “heading” mode but not sure if I could anyway as 10 deg is a small angle and haven't looked for it). B&G MFD to Raymarine AP

As my avatar states I am a newbie (and not ashamed). I do know to try and research the forums for answers first (I tried believe me).
I have one question which I cannot find a straight answer to using many hours of research (company time no less) or I am green enough not to understand what I am reading. So here it goes (the background). I have B&G Hydra 2000 FFD, B&G collection instruments, B&G analogue gauges, Raymarine E80 MFD w/4k radar and a Raymarine ST7001 AP with linear drive and gyro. This is what I inherited when I bought my boat. What I think I want. Keep all but replace MFD with Zeus 3 w/4G radar. Big question. Can my MFD control the AP? IF so how and pitfalls if any. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

A127 losing bottom?

Having problems with my a127. No particular pattern or reasoning but it happens 2-3 times during a trip. I fish for salmon and run downriggers. I will be in 100 plus feet of water and all of a sudden the depth with start reading the cannonball depth (lets just go with 40 feet).
It has also done this when coming across a large pod of baitfish.

Sometimes it will start reading normal again on its own, other times I have to go to the main fishfinder screen and adjust the gain all the way to zero and wait about 30 seconds and it will start reading correctly.

I updated the unit about 30 days ago, did it before then also.

p70s Incorrect Display of EV-1 Compass Deviation Value?

This is a minor issue and may stem from s/w configuration.

I have an Axiom 9 networked to an EV-1/ACU-100 Wheel Pilot via a STng network. The EV-1 is the only source of heading info. The EV-1 compass linearization was performed successfully (4 degrees of deviation) but did not perform “Align Compass GPS” due to good agreement between ships compass and EV-1 magnetic heading. Axiom has v3.1.96, EV-1 v1.11, ACU-100 v1.12 and p70s v3.06.

At the p70s using Menu > Set-up > Diagnostics>About Pilot>Details, the correct deviation is displayed by the EV-1. Also at the p70s using Menu > Set-up > Diagnostics>About System and selecting the “This Display, Raymarine p70s Control Head”>Details, the correct deviation is also displayed. But when selecting Menu > Set-up > Diagnostics>About Display>Details, the deviation value only shows “- - -“. This data is identical to that in the “This Display, Raymarine p70s Control Head”>Details, but without the deviation.

The Axiom correctly displays the deviation. Attachments of screen captures included.

ST40 Bidata & C80 both showing 3.5 ft wrongly

Depth has been fine till 4 hours into a trip when the depth changed to 3.5 ft despite what the depth might be. I played around with it to no effect till I gave up and started plying around with the data bar on the C80. When I added depth to the data bar all of a sudden the ST40 started showing an accurate depth as did the C80 data bar. All was well for about 20 hours till when I added a waypoint I noted that it listed 3.5 ft. This caused my to look at the Bidata which still showed the correct depth then all of a sudden it showed 3.5 feet again as does the c80 data bar.
I have tried all the combinations of steps without any effect including powering down. Does anyone have any idea why it is locked up?

Classic E80/E120 software won't update.

We have a new to us boat that has classic E80/E120 MFD. The last software ware update is 2.30. I have had no success in updating the new software. I have a new CF card with 128 mb. I have formatted the card. I've restarted the MFD with the card inserted and all systems on. Nothing. I have a new Navionics card for my area. It will not read either, but the card that came with the boat for a different area does seem to read. Feel like I'm missing a step or two...

C95 MFD &Airmar P66

I have a Airmar P66 installed on my transom that was previously used on a Raymarine fish finder. The fish finder unit is gone. Can I use the P66 with my recently installed C95 MFD.

itc5 issue

A serious brownout resulted in the itc5 working erratically. When it's powered up, the status led is solid green, and then after a minute or so the network drops, and the led starts blinking regularly. The book indicates that it's looking for software.
Would the appropriate action be to load the itc5 upgrade software on the card and restart the a65 as if performing an upgrade, or is it more serious than that?

Hello, I'm looking at the Axiom 7 3D to put on my kayak. I'm lost when it comes to voltage/amp hours etc. My last depth finder got 2 good days on my 12v18ah sla battery but I can't find info on the axiom 7 3D's amp usage. Thanks for any info in advance! Jim

e125 display freezing up

I installed a new e125 MDF and find that the display completely freezes up at times. I am using C-map 4D charts. This has mostly happened when the touchscreen is wet and does not respond to touch commands, but the push-button control also does not respond. The screen is completely frozen. The boat icon does not progress, even so the GPS location and all other data is progressing to be displayed normally. There are no alarms of any kind. Usually this lasts for a short while and then suddenly the chart jogs back into action. I have contacted Raymarine support about this and got a confirmation email, but no response. How can I proceed to get this resolved?

e125 keys falling off

I took my boat out yesterday and when I pressed the Menu key on my e125 it "popped" off. Luckily I was able to retrieve it.

The + - key also came off.

Does anybody know what glue or technique to use to get them back where they belong?

Upgrade to ACU400

Chuck,
Im thinking about upgrading to the ACU400 from the SPX30 that we currently have installed.

I already have the P70 control head installed. Would I get all the functionality of the ACU400 with my current C80 MFD or do I need to upgrade my MFD too.

Also, will this be compatible with the C80 and the existing linear drive type 2 unit?

fluxgate

I have a SPX30 autopilot interfaced to my C80. For the most part it works great. The only issue is the heading from the fluxgate gets messed up. I doesnt align with the COG or the fluid compass. I have to re-align it every time.

Could this be a sign that the fluxgate is going bad? 5 to 10 degrees off I can live with but sometimes its over 40. All are on magnetic north.

Transducer for trolling motor ES 128

I have 2 each of the MFD 128 ES. I want to mount one up front for my trolling motor on a 2016 Ranger Z-21. I have a Fortrex MinnKota trolling motor 102 thrust with built in transducer. Could you give me the product numbers for the transducer if the Minn Kota transducer will not work with the RayMarine. Also any mounting device or extra cable I may need.

Axiom AIS

Hi
I have a new Axiom system and am trying to get the AIS data from my Standard Horizon GX2200 to my MFD. I noted in another thread that I had to purchase a Actisense NGW-1-ISO AIS which I have acquired. However I don't seem to be able to get it work.

I notice I have no AIS icon on the top right hand corner of my screen. Is there somewhere I need to activate the AIS function?

Can you assist at all with this?
