Axiom 9, Mobile App, and 3.1 Software Update

So, updated my Axiom 9's last night to the 3.1 LH3 software. Set up the WiFi connection, and started the Raycontrol app on my iPad. Awesome idea, but there are a couple issues.
1) The streaming speed is pretty slow. As the graphics get heavier, more intense, the apps slow down considerably, and eventually cease to function. It doesn't matter whether you are using the chart app or the fish finder app, although fish finder graphics are much more intense and subsequently slower to stream. 3D Vision is almost impossible to stream.
I am assuming the WiFi protocol is 802.11, at 2.4 GHz, but can you tell me if it is b, g, n, or ac? Not that it really matters that much, but knowing the sub-protocol would give me an idea of what to expect in terms of transmission capabilities.
I used the default channel 1, but, in hindsight, maybe should have changed that to something different.
2) My setup is 2 Axiom 9's, but the app only lets me look at one display at a time. To change to the other display I have to connect to its WiFi address. Do we know if this will be something that is addressed in future updates/upgrades?
My Axiom's are still connected to each other, not on a Seatalkng backbone, so maybe this issue is resolved when using a backbone.
All-in-all, spectacular idea by the Raymarine engineers. A little tweaking I suspect and it will become everything it was meant to be.

I currently have two Axiom 9's with the dual 220 transducers. I want to add an i70s to the system. I have the two Axioms linked thru a HS5 network switch. How do I connect the i70s to the system? What cables do I need? Where and how do I connect it into the network?

E22158-SeaTalk-STNG-Converter fault

I'm using an e7 MFD, installed 5 years.
When I try to switch from the internal GPS to the external GPS (Raymarine) I get the message:
"The following devices are preventing data source selection:
E22518-SeaTalk-STNG-Converter S/N 1102935
Please see User Manual for details"
I get a similar message when trying to activate other data inputs such as the Autopilot (see attached picture).
I know I could switch GPS sources when e7 first installed, but haven't tried in several years. All the connectors on the converter appear tight.
What should I do next?

Fluxgate Compass Extension

I had a question regarding whether a Raymarine Fluxgate compass cable can be cut/extended. I have been asked to investigate an issue with erratic heading behavior on an autopilot system. The compass cable has been cut to within two feet of the compass and then extended approx 25ft using twisted pair shielded (foil & drain) data cable.

The uninsulated(bare) wire on the compass cable has been connected to the foil/drain wire on the data cable but I noticed the compass cable itself seem to be unshielded I was wondering if interference on the data cable could be causing an issue if the uninsulated bare wire on the compass cable isn't meant to be connected in this manner. Hope this explanation makes sense, is this an acceptable practice?

As always, thanks for your help

My MFD does not list the connnected B744V heat shows many others as available? I do not get a temp reading and it shows the bottom at 30 to 50' when I'm in hundreds of feet of water. Any help to figure this out would be appreciated. I do not have a DSM.

for s/w update, in this case for a 2015 A95, what card format is supported? There are different speeds (SD/SDHC/SDXC ) that older readers will not recognize.

Seatalk to Mac??

Okay, I've got my a98 installed and connected to my Evo autopilot and my ST60 instruments via the seatalk/ng converter. I've got RMControl going successfully on a little tablet that was kicking around. It's all good. But I really love my Mac and MacENC, so I really wish it could connect into this network - whether by wifi, bluetooth or through some sort of seatalkNG-to-USB converter. Is there such a thing?

I have a C120W with the latest firmware and someone is trying to sell me a Raymarine 4069B-4D4KW radar dome which they state works. I have been trying to find out if this dome is compatible with my MFD. Does anyone know or can you point me in the right direction?

Dragonfly 7 pro

I recently installed the 7 Pro when I turn the unit on the dragonfly emblem comes up then the unit goes to a blank page with a blinking light in the upper left hand corner
then it goes back to the Dragonfly emblem page. Sometimes it goes to the accept page sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't I have to turn it off and restart the unit. Is this normal or do I need to do something different. It seems like there is a problem loading the software.

Expanded Rudder Indicator on P70s Display Head

After performing the dockside wizard to calibrate the rudder angle transducer input to approximately +/-30 degrees, the user should be able to select three rudder scale ranges to display on the P70s. +/- 30 degrees (default), +/-20 degrees, and +/10 degrees.

For best helm and fastest speed during manual steering and while the Evolution Wheel pilot is engaged, I trim the sails for between 2-4 degrees of rudder deflection on our hunter 36. Having an expanded scale, e.g. +/- 10 degrees, would be really useful. I'm not usually concerned with rudder deflections beyond 10 degrees (I'm either turning or in real trouble and need to reef...haha).

E127 does not recognize SR6

I have an E127 and Quantum Wi-Fi Radar running with no issues. I’m trying to add an SR6 to the mix and cannot get the display to recognize it.

When I search for new devices, I see the Quantum Wi-Fi Radar as connected over SeaTalk HS but the SR6 does not appear.

I’m connecting with a Raynet to RJ45 cable (A80151) and I see connectivity/activity lights on the SR6 but the status light is flashing amber twice suggesting that it is not connected to a display and confirmed by the fact I can't see it when I go to (HOME->SET-UP->MAINTENANCE->DIAGNOSTICS->SELECT DEVICE)

e127 is running v19.03

Any thoughts on how to get this to work?

I did research it before I purchased the SR6 (obviously used) and it appears to be compatible. http://www.raymarine.com/view/?id=5278

Think it could be a bad unit?

DSM300 intermittent

Working on a boat with an intermittent depth problem.

DSM300 (v4.20) connected to E120W (v2.65) MFDs via a Sirius SR6 ethernet switch.

Sounder (and therefore depth on ST70 instruments) keeps cutting in and out. At various points I've gotten the following blink codes:
1 Green every 10sec
Flashing Green (when it's actually working)
4 Amber (Reserved?)
8 Amber (Watchdog Timeout Reboot) it'll show this after power cycling and the sounder is actually working. Eventually it'll drop out again and show either the Green standby blink or the 8 Amber flashes.

Went through the FAQ from 01-07-16.

Power to the sounder is steady at 12.7V, wiggled cabling to see if the sockets were loose (didn't change anything). Condition of the cabling is good. Used a new STHS cable to go from the Sounder to the SR6 switch with the same results. Unfortunately didn't have another transducer with Raymarine plug on it to test.

Transducer setting in the menu was stuck on the P66 etc (plastic transom mount transucers) I couldn't change this until I had a brief moment where the unit was operating and could change it to the B744V. (The text had worn off of the transducer sticker, but it looks the same as every other B744V I've installed).

Just want to know if there's anything I could check that I'm missing from the FAQ before sending it in for repair. Are the DSM300s still serviceable or at this point in the lifespan does it mean switching to the CP370 is the only option?

Thanks

Want to replace my rotovecta for ST40

I have an ST40 wind instrument with the rotovecta unit at the mast head and I am finding the unit not accurate enough for the trimming we are doing as we club race.
Can I replace the rotovecta with a vane and anemometer unit and will that make it as accurate as the ST60 I had on my previous boat?
If the answer to this question is no, and I need to replace both the head and transducer units, can I replace both and use the existing cables?

Axiom 9 Passcode for iphone

I have a new Axiom 9 wifi paired to Quantum Radar. When I view wifi page under This Display it shows a name and passcode but the passcode is shown as a string of "*". If that code is the one used for the Quantum then I know what it is but when I try to use that to connect my iPhone/iPad to Axiom 9 wifi it does not work? Been through all the forums and can't seem to find solution for this.

Axiom 3d sonar

Hello. First time member and purchaser of the axiom 9rv. I am a Lake Erie fisherman and trying to learn as much as I can before my unit arrives.

I have a few questions:

What do the colors mean on the 3d sonar? Is it targets in the port, starboard or directly under the boat?

If needing a high speed transducer such as my older humminbird si for reading on plane, how would I accomplish this?

Thank you for any help

STW vs SOG for Evolution Autopilot Speed Input

STW vs SOG for Evolution Autopilot Speed Input

Evolution autopilots are dependent upon speed data to maximize the performance of the autopilot. Under conditions of leeway (current and wind), autopilot performance will be maximized when the autopilot has been interfaced to a source of accurate speed through water data. This is particularly so for slow moving vessels such as vessels having displacement hulls or vessels operating at trolling speeds. In the absence of a source of accurate speed through water data, the autopilot will automatically choose GPS SOG as its speed input when either of following two conditions occur:
- the autopilot has not been interfaced to a source of speed through water data
- the autopilot has detected a malfunctioning or poorly calibrated source of speed through water data.
Should neither of the above conditions be detected, then the system will automatically choose speed through water as the speed input.

The operator may also manually select the autopilot's Speed Input ((MENU->SET-UP->AUTOPILOT CALIBRATION->VESSEL SETTINGS->SPEED INPUT) should the AUTO setting not be yielding satisfactory performance. The most common indicator of an Evolution autopilot responding to poor speed data input would be significant S-ing of increasing magnitude when the autopilot has been commanded into Auto (locked heading) mode.
