I have "misplaced" the screw that I think came with the Axiom 9 to secure the external drain wire. The install manual doesn't list the size. But it's a pretty small lug compared to the size of drain wire they suggest. 6x32 doesn't seem to work and a metric 4 x .7 didn't seem to either. Those were the closest I could find at the boat store. The thread is very fine and I don't want to cross thread or ruin it. Thanks. Dan

Radar not working - No Data error
My Digital RD418D 4kw radar is not working this season. I have checked the voltage at the unit and it is 12v or more. It appears to warm up, the motor turns for a second and then is shuts down. I have a C series C90 widescreen plotter which shows the No data error. When I selection "on" on the softkey - nothing happens and the "standby/transmit" key is greyed out. Please help.

C-Map NT help
I have a RL70C HSB2 MFD with a C-Map NT chart card. I am unable to get any closer than the 3NM view. Is this an issue with the card being too older is there something else going on. Anything closer than 3 NM it will say no chart data. Any help is appreciated.

C80 replacement help
I have a C80 that has gotten buggy, and I want to replace it but am concerned with needing to upgrade or replace all of my equipment.
(autopilot ST wind and multi display, GPS).
I have found many used e80's, is there a reason to use something newer? Thanks

Pathfinder Series chartplotter not displaying C-Map cartography inside of 6nm
hsb/hsb2/SL Pathfinder Series chartplotter not displaying C-Map cartography inside of 6nm
The reported symptom typically results from either having configured the display's Plotter Mode feature (MENU->CHART SET-UP->PLOTTER MODE) to ON or using a chart card which does include not detailed cartography at cursor's position for the chart range selected.
The Plotter Mode feature was designed to hide the C-Map cartography and instead display a detailed lat/lon grid to support plotting waypoints via lat/lon grid lines. Under all other operational scenarios, the Plotter Mode feature should be configured to OFF.
The software within Pathfinder Series chartplotters was designed to not over-zoom cartography. Accordingly, should the chartplotter's cursor be positioned over a location for which the chart card's contents do not detailed cartography for the chart range selected, then the chartplotter's screen will partially or fully shaded grey and will be cross-hatched. If ranged further in, the chartplotter screen may additionally report "No CHART Data". In such cases, the chartplotter may be ranged out until detailed cartography is displayed once again. Additionally, customers may want to consider contacting C-Map Recreational Marine (800.424.2627) to determine whether another C-Map chart card may provide additional cartography detail for the location of the cursor.

Axiom/SPX 5
Hi,
I have installed an Axiom 7 DV and have created a Seatalk NG backbone. The SPX 5 is also connected. They are communicating but very limited. I have no functionality between them. Track function will not work and the Axiom will not control my pilot. Axiom has been updated to latest.
Q1: If I update the SPX5 will they work together.
Q2: Since I am upgrading From Classic C series and the Axiom isnt capable of doing the update for the SPX. Will this soon be included so the Axiom is capable of doing updates over STNG?
Thanks!

C80 Software Update
I've not had any success updating my C80 to v5.16. I was able to get part of the upgrade done but it fails with an "Error Checksum failed - Upgrade package is corrupt" message.
I then tried an older v4 upgrade with the same issue.
Are there CF card format issues/brands to be aware of? I tried reformatting the card and was not even then able to get the plotter to see the card w/ the downloaded software on it.
Any advice (short of sending the C80 back to Ray) would be awesome ! My goal is to get updated charts which I can't get w/o the software update.
One other question - on my satellites page, the display does not show any satellites but yet I have a fix and the unit works fine. I'm thinking this is all related to the software being old.
Thanks,
Birdman

Ray55 transmits but won't receive
My Ray55 transmits loud and clear pretty far with no issues.
But when it receives it seems to be limited to to very close.
Within like 1/2 mile for receiving.
I am not sure if it is the radio or the antenna or the cable,
We put a ART meter on it ans VSWR is good and output as expected is solid.
My friend sitting next to me could pick up a boat that I can and when we cruise together he regularly can hear boats I can't.
I can't decide what is bad and how to proceed.
I was going to change antenna and someone said if you transmit so well it can't be antenna. So is it the radio?

EV100, ACU P70 Software update.
Good morning,
I installed a EV100 ap complete on a 23' single outboard center console. The system is tied into a C120 classic. That mfd does not allow the software to be updated on the ev100. What are my choices to get the updated software loaded on to the ev100 short of buying a new mfd which is not in the cards right now? Obviously the beter choice is to upgrade the mfd to get full use of the ap but all the other legacy units allow for a software upgrade except for the C series.
Any help appreciated.
Regards
Chris

AIS Output from VHF to Axiom 9
I have a Standard Horizon GX2200 VHF/AIS that used to connect for AIS output only to my C80 and worked like a champ. The C80 is replaced by Axiom 9 and I need to get AIS data out from GX2200 and into Axiom 9. I do NOT need GPS input from Axiom to VHF, it's already built in. I've seen reference to Actisense NGW-1-ISO-AIS in forum but this is a $190 item and still needs a cable to the SeaTalkng backbone. Is there a more simple (i.e. cheaper) way? In addition to Axiom I have Quantum wireless radar and Evolution Wheel Autopilot.
BTW the Evolution Wheel pilot is the cat's meow. So much better than old X5 it replaced.

Autopilot turning too early for track course
I have a p70s, EV1, and an ACU-100 connected to a mkII wheel pilot. Controlling all of this is an es78. All are running the latest and greatest software. They are all connected via SeaTalk, which is also connected to a NMEA 2000 network. Speed through the water is provided by a NMEA 2000 Maretron DST110 triducer. A complete network diagram is attached and also available at https://sailbits.com/grace/
Using a manually created route, or one via Navionics Autorouting, the MFD is advancing to the next waypoint in the track/route too early, sometimes dangerously so.
This happened 6+ months ago as well, and I did a complete factory reset, dockside wizard and commissioning, and changed the speed source to SOG, and things worked for a while. I think I found a post on the old forums or elsewhere that gave me this guidance.
With this configuration, should speed input be set to SOG or to the STW provided by the DST110? Is this the cause of advancing too early?

Original dragonfly and axiom
Hi Chuck,
Just curious if I can run an original dragonfly alongside my axiom 9 lh3.1. The ONLY reason id like to is to have a fish alarm which the raymarine programmers dont seem to think is an important feature. Thanks,

EV-100 and GPS data
I connected my EV-100 to a third party HDS 7 chart plotted with a NMEA 2000 connector/wire spliced to a seatalkng spur cable. Wire colors were the same except for the yellow one which I did not use since the NMEA 2000 cable had no yellow wire. It appears to be working, I think. The chart plotter appears on the seatalknn network as Lowrance HDS-7 and I now get data from the chart plotter SOG, COG and depth reading on my P70Rs. However when I entered a track pattern on the P70 it gave an alarm 'no navigation data'. This was done at dockside, I have not done sea trials on it yet. Question- is there a way to verify if I am receiving position data from the chart plotter on the P70 (software v3.07). I went through all the data boxes on the P70 most navigation parameters were there for selection except the all important position data. I also went through the data sources P70 menu and selected HDS-7 for GPS data. I am assuming position data would be part of the NMEA 2000 data strings.

Using a Dragonfly 5M power cable to power a 7 Pro
Hello -
There are times when I'd like to bring my Dragonfly 7 Pro with me on another boat - maybe a rental or a friend's. I've got a ton of markers setup and the Navionics maps on the 7 Pro are great.
Can I purchase the Dragonfly 5M power cable and connect it to my 7 Pro? I realize that this will only give me power and no transducer connection, but that's all I'm looking for. I just want to use a RAM suction cup mount on the dash of a boat and use my 7 Pro for maps. I'm just wondering if the plugs are compatible between the 5M and 7 Pro, and also if the 7 Pro will boot up properly if it doesn't see a transducer. Essentially it will act like a 7" version of the 5M.

quantum radar ais vectors
Is there anyway to have ais vessels appearing on the display to show their vectors automatically (the line showing their direction) all the time without having to select the vessel as an ais target each time? On my previous radar, I was able to see the vector (direction) the vessel was heading without having to actually select the vessel as a target and then request the vector to be displayed.

On page 219 of the LightHouse 17 multifunction display Operation instructions 81360-4-EN, section 15.17 Presentation menu Options, it lists among other topics; target depth, depth lines and range lines. Do I have a way to use depth, target and range lines on my unit?
