Hi,

What's the least expensive chart plotter that will allow me to use Navionic's Dock-to-Dock Autorouting with my ST1000 Autopilot.

BTW, I have a Micronet/TackTick system with the T122 NMEA 0183

Thanks!

i just purchased a new 2018 Crownline with an A65. I am receiving data from the engine. Tach, Oil pressure, temp. when i try to use the fuel manager i get the error my engine is not setup. i have attempted to setup up the engine in external devices, but the engine is not detected. Crownline stats that use use a gateway cable that should give me this data. what am i missing?

Depth Information on a MFD a65

Hello, I currently have a P319 connected directly to a ST60+ depth display.
I want to remove the ST60+ display, connect the transducer to a ITC-5, and through a STng backbone get the data on a I70s and a MFD a65.
I would like to know if the sonar application on the a65 will work with this setup.

Currently on an ocean rowing boat... rowed from Norway to Svalbard, then to Iceland. We stopped in Svalbard. Trying to troubleshoot why our Autohelm keeps turning off, showing 1 square, beeping at us, then showing three squares on the display. We power it off and then on. Seems to function fine for about an hour, then goes out. Any ideas?

E95 Unusual Chart display and operational Issues.

Chuck, over the past month you assisted me in resolving an issue where multiple waypoints "stacked" over an existing waypoint. Resolution included deselecting sync from Navionics Apps on iPhone and iPad. Also deleted all waypoints and routes on each. Additionally did a reinstall of Lighthouse V 19.03 and updated Navionics Sd card. Outcome, "stacking " problem cured.

I wanted to pass on some additional problems and resolution, as I had not seen them detailed in the MFD forum.

Last week experienced new issues:

In Chart view, Waypoints did not show on Chart. (confirmed waypoints were in My Data) No Navigation functions worked. Under Menu/Presentation, Vector option disappeared. Interestingly, in Chart/Radar view, Chart Selected,Waypoints showed on Chart, Navigation functions worked. Under Menu/Presentation, all selections were available.

Several discussions with techs led to their conclusion that I had a physical problem with unit and should send in for repair.

Unexpectedly received a call from Winston, Product support supervisor. He educated me at length including discussion of the very failure rate of the E95, <.3% if I remember. Also discussed typical service life and potential replacement with Es97. He also suggested, one final assessment, performing a "Power on Reset". Performed per manual Section 28.2. Reinstalled 19.03 software and undated Navionics SD card.

Results, all problems appear to be corrected. It wasn't a physical issue! Thanks to you and Winston for some excellent advice.

ST2000+ / A50 Chartplotter Connection

I am trying to get my ST2000+ to talk to my Raymarine A50 chartplotter via a sea talk ng connection in conjunction with my ST60+ tri data. I have the ST2000+ seatalk cable hooked into the ST60+ then I have the converter cable to hook the ST60+ into my seatalk ng network which the A50 is plugged into.

So a few items:

I get all the info from the ST60+ tri data to show up on my A50.

I get SOG data from the A50 on the ST60+

When I run the Tiller pilot I get the red heading vector from the tiller pilot to show up on th A50 (I can spin the tiller pilot on its mount and the red vector line changes) therefore there is a connection.

What I can't get is the tiller pilot to show up on the screen as connected (the pilot symbol on the A50 screen has a line through it). I also am unable to steer to a waypoint with the tillerpilot since when I hit the -10 and +10 button while in Auto mode it just beeps and nothing happens.

Any help would be appreciated!

I have a 2001 Simrad system on my 42' sailboat. The control unit had a crack and got saturated and it fried. Replacement parts impossible to find and about $1K if you do. So, thinking to upgrade the whole thing with RayMarine as we upgraded everything else over the lat two years (sailing instruments, eS7, radar, VHF, ect.).

My question is; what do I have to replace?

1. Compass - yes
2. Control Head - yes
3. Pump - I don't know
4. Ram - I don't know
5. Rudder position indicator - I assume so
6. Resvervoir - I don't know

Can you please help with #s 3, 4, 5 & 6?

Thanks,

Barry

Identifying shoot-thru hull transducer

I purchased a 2002 Grady White 330 Express with a shoot-thru transducer mounted (interfacing to a RayMarine L760). I am getting nothing on the L760 for sonar images. Looks like an original install, but I can't find any identifying marks. Any ideas?

Q1: Any way to identify this transducer from the picture?
Q2: There is a light oil in the transducer mounting 'tank'.. its not 100% full. Should I top it up and with what?
Q3: Is there a way to diagnoses if a Transducer has failed without busting the transducer out of its tank?

i60 wind instrument: standalone installation

I am about to install an i60 wind instrument in standalone mode. I actually do have Seatalkng on the boat (it runs the EV-100 autopilot) but I don't see any advantage to using it, and I would need a long, expensive spur cable. So I have two questions:

1. In order to provide DC power, do I have to set up a bare-bones Seatalkng network (e.g., two T-pieces, a backbone cable, a power cable and terminators) or can I simply butcher the provided short spur cable (in which pins 1 and 2 appear to carry power/ground)?

2. Am I allowed to split the long data cable at the base of the mast, using the provided junction box? The instructions very explicitly say that the cable should not be split.

Using Axiom to update EV-100 Wheel pilot ?

Hi Forum. Need to update this wheel pilot to allow it to "track" to Garmin MFD. Called Raymarine technical support and was told that it could. So I downloaded ray_Pilots_20170519.upgrade.iso copied it to SD card and tried lots of different things. Although I could see EV1 on network I found no way to initiate upgrade of particular devices on network. Can somebody at Raymarine actually confirm this is possible as there is nothing in the directions about supporting Axiom units.

Thank you

NMEA 0183

I have just changed out my old Northstar GPS monitor for the Raymarine a98 MFD. The Northstar sent GPS coordinates to a Simrad Autopilot AP11 via a Robertson J300X terminal. It also sent GPS coordinates to the VHS radio.

I have connected the aSeries to the SeaTalk and the SeaTalk to an Actisense NGW-1 NWEA converter 0813 to 2000. The lights are flashing on the NGW-1. However the Autopilot and radio both say "no signal" for the GPS coordinates.

Are there any settings that I need to do on the a98 series? What can I check to see if the GPS signal is coming over to the Robertson junction box and the radio?

Thanks

2005 ST6001 Auto Pilot with Type 2 S linear drive

Attached is a photo of my original broken Ray Marine autopilot pin/bolt and the replacement part that Ray Marine sent, (part # K065 - Front Anchorage S/ASSY). They said that this is the only part that they have for the Ray Marine Type 2 S Linear drive autopilot connecting the autopilot to the rudder quadrant.
You can see that the original pin/bolt that came with the boat is larger on the bolt end and has a longer spacer in the middle.
We called Ray Marine and they said to send an inquiry to the Forum. Please advise if there is another part we can order.
Thank You,
Gary

Tack Tick indicated apparent wind angle

Apparent wind angle has become variable and unreliable. Sailing close hauled, the reading is sometimes 55 to 65 degrees on either tack, compared to a normal reading of 25 to 30. The reading is much more variable than normal and will eventually return to 25-30 degrees for a while. On a reach, with Windex showing perhaps 80 degrees, Tack Tick might say 100-110 degrees. Tack Tick does seem about right going dead downwind by Windex. Any ideas on what I should test or replace? This is an all Tack Tick system.

Have installed:
EV-100 Wheel Pilot
ACU-100
p70s
e7 MFD
i70 Multifunction instrument display
iTC-5 converter
Raymarine Rotary Rudder Reference Transducer
One dedicated breaker feeds the instruments
One dedicated breaker feeds the AP

All instruments operating properly until first week in June. At that time, I updated all software before leaving on a two week cruise. The first time I operated the AP, it turned the wheel hard to port. After repeatedly restarting the instruments and repeated failure, I uninstalled the updates, tested, failed and then reinstalled them, retested and failed again.

After analyzing the failures, symptoms and observing the instrument readings, it appeared to be what you would expect to see if the rudder reference transducer leads were reversed on the ACU-100.

A visual inspection proved they were wired correctly. In initiating a physical test, disconnecting the red lead resulted in an audible error alert and message on the p70s.

Reconnecting, resulted in the system operating correctly until power is turned off at the 12 v distribution breaker panel. Repeating the disconnect/connect solves the problem until the next time power is cut off.

If the instruments are turned off individually on the instrument button only, the issue does not appear...it only occurs when power is cut from the panel to the instruments.

The issue is 100% repeatable.

I called Raymarine while on the cruise and the technician said that he would have suggested doing exactly what I did to diagnose the issue and that he had no solution to offer...so I thought I would write it out and see if anybody had anything to suggest...I'm too old to keep climbing into the lazarette to disconnect/connect a wire every time I power up.

Radar Problem

I have twin e120's with an open array radar M92654-s. I have been experiencing issues with the radar, but it is very inconsistent. 2 things could happen when powering up. One, the radar does not move, or it moves at an extreme speed. When at the extreme speed, the radar is picking up objects and seems to work. I have had the boat for 8 years and have not seen that until this year. Just got back from a 9 day trip and it worked flawlessly. Raymarine thought it might be a bad modulator board.

SR150 gets hot and shuts down

Hello Raymaine team,

My SR150 starting showing no connection message, I saw the unit was not showing any power lights on I unplugged the power and it turned backed on but the network light would not come on after about 2 min it shut down again.

I have checked power and its good, I swapped out the network cable with a new one nothing changed, I even swapped about the network cable location on the sea talk box.

At this point I think I have a bad unit and its about 1 year old. I tried to process a repair and the SR150 doesn't come up as a selected product for a repair. Is this the case? It was a 700 dollar unit that is 1 year old??

Please help Raymarine!!
