Command Link interface

I have a set of 2007 F250 Yamaha outboards with Command Link, and I'd like to have the data available to be reported on my AXIOM MFD. I have a Yamaha Bus bar under the helm, and I have a H-5 network switch and a NMEA backbone that both work flawlessly with all my Garmin GPS, Raymarine transducer and radar, and Rockford Fosgate stereo integration.

I'm having a tough time figuring out exactly what I need to link my Command Link to the MFD. Some online resources say there's a cable from the Yamaha bus to the NMEA backbone, some say there's an additional piece of hardware required in between the Yamaha bus and the NMEA backbone, some say there's an E-100 required, but it's difficult to tell whether these are appropriate for my current situation with Axiom, the H-5, and the functional NMEA backbone.

Can you tell me what I need to purchase in order to get my engine data onto the MFD?

Thanks in advance.

Interfacing differential NMEA 0183 devices to single ended NMEA 0183 devices

Interfacing differential NMEA 0183 devices to single ended NMEA 0183 devices

While most marine electronics products having a NMEA 0183 communications interface feature a standard differential NMEA 0183 v2.0 communications interface (i.e. dedicated signal high (A/+) and low (B/-) terminals or leads for each NMEA 0183 channel), some third party products (ex. Garmin, etc.) feature a single ended NMEA 0183 communications interface. In such cases, the Raymarine Product's NMEA 0183 B/- lead/terminal will be interfaced to the third party product's NMEA 0183 Data Common lead or ground lead which in turn will be interfaced to -12VDC.

Connecting an ST1000+ to a Garmin

I have the ST100+ Autopilot, and a Garmin 942SX. I understand that it is possible to connect these two, but am finding the documentation challenging. The ST1000+ shows an NMEA + and - while the Garmin has Transmit and Receive.

Can I connect these directly, or do I need the E85001 adapter which is no longer available?

I have a 4kw Raymarine open array pedestal unit and I am looking for a replacement rubber boot to protect the On/Off switch on the back of the unit. The product code for the unit is: M92654-S and the serial number is: 0940173.

Where can I source this part? I have included a photo of the torn boot.

Thank you for your assistance.

es127 shuts down

When under sail for a few hours my new es127 shuts itself down. I can turn it back on, but after several minutes it does it again. After doing some research and talking with a Raymarine tech it appears to be a voltage problem. I thought if I shut off my freezer/refrigerator while under sail (no motor charging the batteries) it would reduce the draw on the batteries. That did seem to work however, if I am using the auto-pilot the same thing happens (auto pilot draws from the batteries as well). While at the dock with shore power on and batteries charging, the es127 will run forever - therefor it must be the batteries. I am starting to think perhaps I should replace my house batteries with ones with greater amperage? These house batteries were new last year. They are wet cells and will charge up to 13.7 volts. I hate to do it but, if necessary, get new batteries again. I would like to rely on my MFD while under sail but, that does not seem possible at this point.. As usual, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello

can you help me in the selection of which MFD to purchase. What are the advantages of an E series vs a C series MFD?

Assume the use is a 45 ft sailboat with a Ray260, Ray RD424HD, AIS 650 and normal I70 and P70 as well a ST60 instruments ( seatalk ng converter)

Thanks

RAY 260 Speaker

I am installing a Ray260 and would like to understand what to order to have a remote mic and speaker in the cockpit of my sailboat.

I am thinking the active speaker is better mounted in the cockpit and a the passive speaker in the cabin.

Suggestions are welcome.

Would one order the remote mic and passive speaker A80196 and add the active speaker A80199 or is there a remote mic with an active speaker?

Axiom/RV-100 installation

I have installed my new Axiom 9 RV and RV-100. I have recently received the Y-cable to connect my existing B-60 transducer. I have a few questions before finalizing the installation.

Due to transom design and the placement of strakes, trim tabs and the existing B-60 transducer, my placement options are limited and high speed performance is doubtful. Although I do not expect that the RV-100 will provide much usable data at planning speeds, I would like to get it as good as possible.

The RV-100 is currently positioned about 18” starboard of the boat’s center line, 2” starboard of a forward strake and 2.25” port of a trim tab. Vertically, the transducer is positioned so that the ridge at the midpoint on the port side is about ¼” lower than the bottom of the hull and the transducer is tilted so that it is approximately parallel to the bottom of the hull. I have attached 3 images showing the current placement of the transducer. In one of the images, green tape is placed to show the approximate positions of the B-60 (closer to center) and the forward strake (closer to the RV-100).

In initial testing, I had good High Chirp, Downvision, Sidevision and Realvision performance at displacement speeds but no usable data at planning speeds Much to my surprise, my outdrive did not seem to interfere with Sidevision or Realvision performance. With the B-60 connected to my old DS500x, I saw some interference in High Chirp but the plot was readable.
I don’t want to drill a lot of new holes unless there is a good chance of improving performance but I am open to relocating the RV-100 and the nearby speed sensor if there is a reasonable chance of improved performance.

Q 1: Can you recommend any position changes that might have a reasonable chance of improving RV-100 performance at higher speeds?

I am primarily a coastal striped bass fisherman but I occasionally venture offshore in search of bottom fish, sharks or school tuna, I have little experience with Chirp but it seems clear that I will need to keep the B-60 to maintain consistent bottom tracking at higher speeds. I had not realized that the the Axiom/Y-cable set up eliminates High Chirp, so for the time being, my DS500x remains installed and the Y-cable, B-60 connector and RV-100 connector remain above deck. I would like to clean this up a bit but overall performance is more important so I have a couple of questions that may help me decide how to proceed.

Q2: Is the Axiom RV significantly better at processing and displaying 50/200MHz data than the DS500x?

Q3: Would High Chirp significantly outperform 50/200MHz at lower speeds.

Q4. It’s not in my budget anytime soon but if I were to connect the B-60 to a properly networked second Axiom RV or DV MFD, would I be able to view both 50/200MHz and High Chirp?

Finally, in reviewing similar posts by other forum members, I find that I am not able to view their attached diagrams and images. Also, assuming that I attached them correctly, I am not able to view my images when I preview my post.

Q 5. Is there a setting that would allow me to view attachments?

Thanks and sorry for the long winded post.

I updated my MFD's to the 19.03 release in order to take advantage of the Navionics Point to Point navigation. In so doing the Reverse Setting on the Cam210IP has been updated back to the original default.

Without uninstalling the cam, how can I accomplish the Reverse Imaging Function again?

Thank You

Problem reading deep water 400+

$

I have a had problems reading deep water with my electronics systems. I had a DSM 300 and now have a new CP370 and I am unable to see deeper than 400 feet. It reads strong bottom up to that depth then the screen scatters as seen in the attached photo. The transducer on the boat is an Airmar M 260 (1kW) shooting thru hull. The transducer tank is topped off with mineral oil.

How can I get to be able to read depths to 1000 feet? The transducer tank has run low on oil could the transducer be burnt?

thanks

Wind Vane

I have a new masttop windvane that feeds a new i70 display (as well as a new MFD es98 on the network). It worked fine for a few weeks, but now suddenly only displays the wind speed... the yellow direction arrow is always at 6 O'Clock and steady. When I disconnected the plug at the bottom of my mast, the speed and the yellow arrow (that was pointing down) both disappeared... when reconnected, both come back on the same as before.. showing wind speed but only a yellow needle pointing down again. From the deck I can see (thru binoculars) that the masttop vane seems to be both spinning AND following the wind direction. Any idea why it suddenly stopped reporting wind direction?

eS78 MFD Doc to Doc Routing-not working sonar fish finder needs help too

I have an eS78, upgraded two weeks ago, renewed navionics for another year, retried auto routing or doc to doc but it still takes me over land and uses direct route. I tried using to shortest distance with minimal turns as instructed via phone conversation (w/Chuck). It takes a lot more time to load then says route is complete but NG. A couple times it shut down, the Raymarine screen came up like when you first turn it on then rebooted. The chart plotter works and the waypoints are on target but if i didn't know the area I'd be in trouble. Underway at cruising speeds it maintains the true depth and heading so I'm good with that.

The sonar Fish finder isn't finding the fish, CPT120 transducer. This is my second season with this unit, I thought it was me, but I'm not so sure.....

My boat has a Raymarine 0183 multiplexer installed on it. Can I use a NMEA0183 to USB cable (for example, from Digital Yatch), and connect it into the multiplexer, to send routes to my G120/GPM400, from Coastal Explorer?

I have a customer with an Axiom 12RV and a RV-21 thru hull. The whole system works fine except the display does not see the transducer, the screen just says no transducer present. Our installer hooked it up with a transducer extension. Any ideas?

Can a DF 7 Pro transducer CPT-DVS be used as a thru hull

$

I just purchased a DF 7 Pro yesterday after a TON of research on the unit itself......but really didnt pay attention to the transducer.......NOT GOOD

I am also a member of various Yamaha Forums (Jetboaters and Yamaha Jet Boaters) and searched for info on transom locates.

Im begining to understand that I should be going to the thru hull.

The unit that came with the DF 7 Pro is the CPT-DVS Transom mount CHIRP DownVision™ and conventional CHIRP sonar transducer.

I really dont want to spend 300 on an install to not have it work and then have 4 patched holes in my boat....

Can someone help me out please

Dock to Dock Autorouting is producing a two point route over land

Please click here to view a related FAQ. Should the items specified within the referenced FAQ have been addressed within your system, then the reported symptom is typically results from failure of one or more of the automatic route generation constraints. Should the items within the FAQ have been addressed within your system, then the reported symptom (i.e. a straight line drawn between the starting and ending waypoint) would be the result of failure of one or more of the following criteria:
• Automatic route generation can only be used when generating routes within the area covered by your compatible cartography. Routes are limited to 200 waypoints per route ... should the number of waypoints required to autoroute between the starting point and ending point exceed 200, then the reported symptom will occur.
• Automatic route generation can be used between waypoints less than 100 nm apart.
• Automatic route generation always uses the cartography’s minimum depth reading when calculating routes. Please refer to the Differences between automatic route generation functions section for further details.
• Automatic route generation will fail if the generated route will exceed the maximum waypoint or route capacity of the MFD.
• Automatic route generation will also fail if insufficient cartographic data is available.
• the route's starting point or ending point do not satisfy the minimum depth, width, and height constraints which have been specified for the boat details configuration settings
• the feature was unable to create a route satisfying the minimum depth, width, and height constraints which have been specified for the boat details configuration settings

When getting accustomed to the Dock to Dock Autorouting feature, it is recommended that customer's practice using the feature in deeper water before attempting create routes in shallow waters.
