What does the red background color mean on my Bathy?

When using my sonar logs to create new Bathy the background color is normally white. Sometimes this changes to an offred color, not the red hatch controlled by the shallow water setting, this is solid. What is this telling me about the data?

SonarChart Live Overview

SonarChart Live Overview

With a Navionics+, Update, Platinum Plus, or HotMaps chart card having an active Navionics Freshest Data Updates subscription present within the memory card reader of an a/c/e/e/S/gS-Series MFD, Navionics SonarChart™ you can easily enhance the sonar bathymetry for your area and create high resolution bathymetry maps for bodies of water lacking detailed bathymetry. SonarChart Live cartography is displayed in real time on your MFD, using your system's depth transducer. Click here to view Raymarine's YouTube video overview of the SonarChart Live feature available within Raymarine's a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs.

When Sonar Logging (MENU->PRESENTATION->DEPTHS & CONTOURS->SONAR LOGS) and the SonarChart Live (MENU->PRESENTATION->ADVANCED OPTIONS->SONARCHART LIVE) features have been enabled the Chart will begin to display the path through which sonar is being logged, showing increased bathymetry detail within the path taken by the vessel. The background color of the SonarChart Live cartography layer will be white in depths greater than sixteen feet. Depths lest than sixteen feet will be rendered in colored shades transitioning from pink to red to denote shallow water. This depth threshold is not presently user configurable.
The screen images below illustrate the coloring of the SonarChart live chart layer.

When seeking to maximize the accuracy and detail of the SonarChart Live bathymetry, it is recommended that a pattern search (see image below) be performed over the area of interest (reef, wreck, submerged creek bed, drop off, etc.).

data transfer run/view

I have been successful in data transfer from E80 to the CF card with software version 5.52. I have downloaded the converter zip (raymarinefshtogpxconvertor.zip ).
The prompts give me boxes to check for a desktop icon and a start up short cut. After download, no icon or start up icon appear. I only get the auto start of the archive box. Also, the Raymarine file does not show in my program files?

question 2: when reading the file, will I also need to download a program on my pc to run/view Raytech software.

A128 Switching off

My A128 is developing an annoying problem. Figured I would present it here, before contacting a tech for advise or repair.
When selecting screens that I want, such as a split 2D Sonar/ Down Scan or any others, they stay on for 10 sec to 3 min, and then switch back to the Home Screen.
Additionally, today I had to restart it 3 times, just to get past the "accept" intro.
I have tried both reboot procedures and it didn't make any difference. My A127 at the console and my A128 on the bow are linked, but only the A128 is acting up.
Thanks.

C120W with AirMar P66 Not Recording Speed

I have a Raymarine C120W with a Airmar P66 transducer and the speed does register on the MFD so I have to rely on SOG. The transducer works and does record water temp. just not speed. Spindle seems fine on Transducer. Am I missing a setting or something on the MFD?

Seatalk cables between Axiom 9 and Ray60

Hello,

I just installed an Axiom 9 and a Ray60 VHF Radio on my boat. Both devices have Seatalk wips and or cables that came with the units. The Seatalk cables from each of the devices do not connect together.

Can you please tell me what Raymarine Part Numbers (cables) that I need to order so that both the Axiom and the Ray60 communicate through Seatalk.

Thanks so much.

Scott

Interfacing two devices supporting SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 communications

Interfacing two devices supporting SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 communications

It is not possible to interface two devices support SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 communications to one another via a single SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 spur cable to support communications with one another. Instead, such devices are designed to be interfaced as individual spurs to a powered and properly terminated SeaTalkng backbone.

Help With Partial and Full Upgrade

I am about to upgrade my C80 classic to an Axiom 9 and the ST6002/S1/MK2 wheel pilot to the Evolution EV-1 Sail (full kit). I’m considering upgrading the ST60+ wind, depth and speed displays to the i60 and i50s as well. Can the MFD flash all of these instruments?

Are my diagrams for these upgrades correct? Also, given a full upgrade, can the C80 still sit on the STng bus as a repeater? The system is in a 2008 Hunter 36 sailboat with the existing Raymarine system installed at the factory and dealer. My purchase time frame is within the next few days. Sweet!
Thanks
Dan Y.

Question regarding Dragonfly 5 PRO and Navionics Maps;

When I recently purchased a Dragonfly 5 PRO it came with a Navionics micro card and sd adapter. Is this the full maps or do I still need to buy the Navionics Region maps? I'm new to this so any help is appreciated!

HS5 Problem or Not?

I have an E120 MFD with a DSM 300 linked via SeaTalk HS cable. I also have a back bone setup for my laptop connection and GPS to VHF via a E85001 box.

I am hooking into this system a SR150 Siris Weather module. I bought a HS5 network switch and several RayNet(F) to RJ45(M) cables(A80151).
I put the A80151 into the DSM then to the HS5. I have the HS5 connected to MFD with another A80151. I used a RayNet to RayNet cable connector from the Sirius module to the HS5. I have power indications to both the HS5 and Sirius
I have neither depth data nor communication with the Sirius.

The power indicator light on HS5 is a red and a LED (green) on the connection for the Sirius. No LED light on the DSM connection.
DSM’s status LED blinks green.

What am I missing to get my system functioning?

I swapped out the HS5 today per my communication to Raymarine Tech service.

Thanks John

es series transducer

Im looking at purchasing a new chart plotter/fishfinder and was considering the es78 series but just had a few questions about it. Is there a in hull transducer available for it? If so would there be any loss in performance as apposed to a transom mount?

Thanks

Dsm300 and bv744

C80 unit will mark bottom but will not display fish. The dsm has green lights. Is there a way to test the transducer? I've reset the dsm, read the books several times. If i then up the gain I just get a bunch of clutter.

Is the Navionics+ chart card within a Raymarine product bundle populated with charts?

Is the Navionics+ chart card within a Raymarine product bundle populated with charts?

The Navionics+ chart cards included within Raymarine MFD and Dragonfly bundles sold in North America have been pre-populated by Navionics with navigational cartography for the coastal waters of the United States and Canada. These chart cards have additionally been populated with navigational cartography for lakes and rivers of the United States and Canada. It is recommended that Navionics chart cards be registered with Navionics to create a Navionics Freshest Data Updates subscription with to permit them to receive Freshest Data updates. Please click here to view a FAQ addressing this subject. While Navionics+ chart cards feature spot soundings and baythymetry common to navigational charts, these chart cards have not been populated the detailed fishing bathymetry included within Navionics Sonar Charts. Should one have a Navionics+ chart card and desire to view Sonar Charts, use the product's Sonar Logging feature, use a MFD's Dock To Dock Autorouting feature, or a MFD's SonarChart Live feature, then the Navionics card's data will need to be updated with the Navionics Chart Installer computer program. This program may also be used to add SonarCharts to a Navionics+ Chart should the corresponding option within the Navionics Chart Installer program be selected.

Axiom 7 mount

Hi Raymarine,

I'm looking to install a second screen Axiom but with limited dash room was considering mounting on top of my center console dash with the included mount. My concern is if I remove the unit and leave the power/nmea /network plugs exposed to weather elements I would have corrosion. Do you have any recommendations for me to protect my wiring if I mount this way, like a wire cover? I know my dragonfly wiring had wire caps on them but the Axiom doesn't. Or any recommendations of different mounts available?

Thank you
