Seatalk1 to Seatalkng

$

I am in the process of updating ST60 instruments to I70 seatalkng. I have an existing ST60 Wind and a S1G course computer which I wish to use in the new system.

My plan is to build a Seatalkng back bone connecting the new Ray260 radio, E95 MFD, I70 and P70 to seatalk ng bus. Connect the Wind to a wind pod and the pod to the seatalk ng, in the ng bus. I would install a seatalkng to seatalk1 converter with a connector ( yellow plug ) to the S1G. Will this converter allow bi directional data from the seatalk 1 to the seatalk ng? My concern is that all of the data from the S1G be available for the ng system data from the flux gate compass and the rudder reference.

It seems simple enough however am I missing anything. Can I daisy chain the St6o wind directly to the I70 and receive the wind date via sealtalk ng, if so do you set the St60 as a master or a repeater?

Thanks

Raymarine product is reporting that my Navionics subscription expired

As with Navionics+ and Platinum Plus chart cards purchased separately, the Navionics+ Chart cards bundled with Raymarine MFDs include a Navionics Freshest Data Updates subscription for the first year of ownership. After the first year, Freshest Data Update subscriptions may be purchased from Navionics (508-291-6000). Per product literature included with a Navionics product, Navionics chart cards are to be registered within two months of purchasing the chart card or MFD having a bundled Navionic+ chart card. On a monthly basis, Raymarine provides Navionics with a list of the serial numbers of the Navionics+ chart cards bundled with Raymarine MFDs which have been sold during that month. Reception of this list starts the clock at Navionics for each chart card sold. Registration of the Navionics chart card occurs through use of the Navionics Chart Installer program along with a computer having Internet access to update the chart card's contents with Navionics Freshest Data Updates.

In addition to maintaining the Navionics chart card with the latest available cartography, a registered Navionics+, Navionics Update, or Navionics Platinum+ chart card having an active Freshest Data Updates subscription is required in order to use any of the following Navionics cartography dependent features:
- Sonar Logging (Dragonfly displays and a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs)
- SonarChart Live (a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs)
- Dock-to-Dock Autorouting (a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs)

Classic MFD MicroSD to CF adapters?

$

I hope someone can help.

My boat has a Classic C80 MFD. It uses a CF (Compact Flash) card for charts.

All the newer MFDs seem to use microSD cards.

I see Raymarine used to sell a MicroSD to CF adapter (or would it be a CF to MicroSD adapter? :), however this has long been discontinued.

There are a lot of these CF to MicroSD adapters available on the market via Amazon or eBay, etc.

Can someone tell me if there are any important specifications on this adapter so I can purchase a generic brand since the Raymarine version is no longer sold?

I'd like to get an updated chart on a MicroSD card (probably the Navionics+), as the CF versions are hard to find.

Thanks for any advice on which CF to MicroSD adapter will work on the C80! (yes I know this is old technology)!

Regards,
Rich

Hi, can you please let us know if there is an option to set the speed display on the data bar of my G Series to show speed calculated by the internal gps sensor of the G Series system, rather that what it currently shows which appears to be the speed log from the paddle wheel that's connected to the ST-60.
Thank you.

I've read about your products and they come highly recommended. I'm going on a fly-in fishing trip to Canada and would like to bring a portable fish finder. Do any of your units support this type of set-up. Thank you.

I have es series MFD'S installed on my vessel. I do not have any i70 instruments. The i70 software has the ability to plot water temp over time. My LH software is the most recent version. I would like to be able to view water temperature over time in seperate window or page without adding the i70. Thank you.

Raypilot 65 remote controller produces errors after updating EV1

I updated my EV1 to firmware 2.18 and can confirm that this solves the track mode issue when using a Garmin MFD. After waiting so long for this update, I am very happy that this story finally came to a good end.

Unfortunately the update introduced a new problem:

My Raypilot 65 remote controller (connected via a E22158 Seatalk converter v2.03) now occasionally beeps and displays "off crs". This happens even in standby mode when not navigating a route. Otherwise the remote controller works as expected.

With v1.11 on the EV1 and v1.21 on the converter I never had this problem.

IP streaming protocols for Cam200IP

Hello,

We've currently got the camera connected via the web interface, and that does actually work, but I'd like to have my software interface directly with the camera.

The main thing we need is to start recording the video to disk according to an external signal; i.e., we can't depend on an operator to always start and stop recording.

(I'm aware of motion detection starting a recording session, but that won't work for us)

Do you support any industry standards for getting access to the stream?
Either of the following two would work:

Real quick, what do I need to set so the chart moves under the boat icon? Right now the whole thing moves and the boat goes off the screen unless I reposition. I like this unit but It really needs some major software update especially on the sonar.

purchasing equipment and networking

Hi there, I am in the process of purchasing new electronics for my new boat. I am planning on installing an axiom E70366-00-NAG and axiom E70367-00-NAG with an RV200 transducer . Also will be installing a Quantum Q24W radar. My radio will be a lowrance link-8 VHF/AIS which has NMEA2000 port. I will also be looking to connect my Yamaha F200XB via NMEA2000. From what I have researched the axioms can be networked to each other via Ethernet cable. The radar will be WiFi. and the RV200 is connected directly to the master axiom 9. My question is what is the easiest way of networking of the remaining components? It seems that SeaTalk NG and NMEA2000 do not communicate directly without the use of an adapter ? or is the axiom 9 able to do both without any adapters ?

Getting routes from PC to G120/GPM400?

$

Hi Chuck,

I use Coastal Explorer on my PC to plan out my routes. Currently, when finished, I export the route from CE to a GPX file, and use Raymarine Voyage Planner to convert to a .fsh file, which I copy to a CF card, place into one of my GPM400s, and then import the routes.

I'm looking for a more steamlined process. My laptop running CE is connected to a Vesper XB-8000 (which is on my SeaTalk ng network), and acts as a NMEA repeater.

I've tried to send the route from CE to the GPM400, but it appears that the GPM only receives over NMEA0183.

Do you have any suggestions on how I could get the routes to the GPM without using the CF card?

Thank you,

Josh

CAM220IP Night View Issue

I have both a CAM200IP and CAM220IP camera installed on my boat and connected via an HS5 switch to 3 MFD's (a128, a78 & a78) The daytime image is perfect on both cameras but the nightime image on the CAM220IP is all washed out and I can barely identify what I am looking at. The CAM200IP night image is almost perfect. Not sure if I have a defective camera or if there are any settings to address this? I have tried all settings via the MFD but nothing made any real changes. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

My E120 display was very dim while out on the water on Sunday. I checked to ensure that the day palette was selected and the back light was adjusted all the way up, however, the display was very dim and difficult to see even on an overcast day.

My motors were running and my batteries were fully charged and showing 14.3 volts.

When I got back to the dock and hooked up my shore power, the display was bright again and seemed fine. Any thoughts on how I can trouble shoot this before sending it in for a bench test?

Is there a catalog number for wind transducer cable, can it be ordered or is there an industrial description and why or what is the reason for not increasing the Rotavecta cable.

New Axiom Network Anomaly

After installing my new Axiom network and having all the data functions operating correctly, I have experienced a couple of issues. I have taken my boat out twice since I completed the set up. On both occasions this is what I experienced. The Axiom data master has not had any issues at all and I have used it generally to display the Navionics+ charts and Road app. On the other non-data master Axiom I have been displaying the radar in various configurations. The anomaly is, intermittently on only the non-data master Axiom, while the radar is displayed, the power/brightness swipe button becomes unresponsive to my touch and I need to swipe it 5 or more times to get it to respond. If the radar is off on this unit it doesn't appear to have this issue and one light swipe will get the power/brightness window to appear. Keep in mind, the power/brightness swipe will work fine most of the time when the radar is displayed it is just a random and intermittent issue. The other issue with the non-data master unit which may or may not be related to the first one is, the power/brightness popup window will intermittently appear for about two or three seconds and then disappear without me touching the unit. It happens randomly. A few days ago when I took my boat out for a cruise for about 1/2 hour, it happened about three times. Today, on a cruise that lasted about the same amount of time, the pop-up happened about 5 times. On today's cruise, after the popup happened about 3 times in fairly quick secession, I attempted to access the power/brightness window to restart the unit to see if that would stop the issue, I needed to swipe the power touch button about 5 times before the power/brightness window appeared. When it finally appeared, I powered off the unit and restarted it. For a while I thought it fixed the issue but then about 20 minutes later the power/brightness window appeared/disappeared once again. The data master unit has not had either of these issues and always shows the power/brightness popup window with one light swipe. Both units are running Software Version: v3.0.60. All the other components in my network have preformed flawlessly so far. I have attached a diagram to show my components and how they are networked. Thank you
