Hi moderator,
I have an a98 with wifi on my boat. My friend also has the a98 mounted in his boat. If I create a route with waypoints, is there a way for me to transfer wirelessly the route and waypoints to his a98?
Thanks

Advanced Sailing Tools in Lighthouse 3?

Hi. I am considering buying two Axiom MFD's for my sailboat.

Two questions:

1. Will the new Lighthouse 3 operating system support the advanced sailing features as they were in the Lighthouse II - R14?

2. What features will not be supported in Lighthouse 3? I could not find much detail on this in the website.

CP570

In MFD manual is stated:

"The CP570 sonar module features 2 CHIRP sonar channels that can transmit and receive independently of each other. Ping modes are available that balance the ping rate Vs interference between the 2 channels."

Is this means that running the B175H and B175HW simultaneously is possible without interference's?

Is it combination of B175H and B175HW connected on CP570 recognised as a 2 channel transducer?

"Note: Ping modes will only be available when the sonar module is connected to a 2 channel transducer."

I70S Digital/Analog Compatibility

Hello and Good Day!

Here is my Raymarine set up on a 38 foot sailboat.
EV-200 autopilot running SeaTalkng on a backbone
ST60 Wind
ST60+Depth
I70s
C-70 MFD at the helm
C-120 MFD at the Nav
AIS running NEMA0183 sentences from a Standard Horizon VHF, the C-120 at the Nav supplies the position (GPS) sentences to the radio and the C-70 at the helm receives the targets at the helm.

I replaced my ST-60 speed with the I70s because the LCD had become blackened out. The device, while hard to read, still works.

The paddle wheel has stopped working and the sea temperature never worked properly.

Here are my questions:
Q1: I understand that the speed paddlewheel is analog so that I would need to purchase an ITC-5 converter to change the analog signal to digital which could be transmitted on the SeaTalkng backbone. Is there new digital version of the paddlewheel that I can purchase and avoid using the ITC-5 converter?

Q2: Can I use the old speed instrument with the NEMA2000 cables to just daisy chain the speed information to the system and will it be readable by the I70s? Presently the analog wind and depth are seen by the I70S.

Q3: Will the AIS display work on the I70S with NEMA0183 protocol that I'm presently using to display targets?

Sonarchart live and advance options

On my last trip my sonarchart live quit working on my c127. While trying to figure out why I went into advance options to make sure it was toggled on and everything is greyed out and will not allow any changes in advance options. No changes were made since last trip, sonar still operates but not the sonarchart live feature. I tried ejecting the navionics card as mentioned in another thread it did not change anything.

Unable to update software in DSM300

I have a networked system including 2x E120 classics (SW vers 5.69) and a DSM300 with SW version 3.16. Trying to upgrade the DSM300 to latest version 4.20. I have downloaded that package plus the 5.18 boot loader onto the memory card. Software utility window opens on power up. Attempts to install the boot loader fail. The progress window opens, however no text or progress bar data is updated. Approximately 30 seconds later an additional window with "the data transfer to the target has failed"

Tried multiple times with same result.
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mike

Update to 17.46 causing problems

I have an eS128 that I have designated as the data master and an eS78 that is the slave to the 128. Everything was working great on both units until I updated to the 17.46 software today. Now the eS78 will boot up to the the screen where it shows the 17.46 and the "Accept" button, but no matter what button I press, the machine just beeps at me and will not respond. I've tried unplugging the network and white spur cable and restart it and it still does the same thing.
Any ideas of what I can try?

Hello,

I am presently running a c125, CP370, HS5, and a RD 418HD. I am running the CP370 and the RD 418HD through the HS5, which then feeds the c125 via a Raynet to Raynet A62361 cable. My c125 is mounted in an aluminum center counsel with an aluminum hard top. GPS signals are received, but not what I consider to be a timely manner. I would like to add the following to my system,

1. AIS 650
2. AIS 100
3. RS 150
4. Possibly, in the future the Ray 52.

Could I ask for your help in producing a shopping list to install these items so that they may be used with my current system?

In addition to my " shopping list" I need to ask you the following questions.

A. Can I use the Seatalkng Spur cable that is supplied with the AIS650 directly into the c125?
B. Will the addition of the RS 150 necessitate setting up a Seatalkng backbone to allow interface with the c125?
C. If I should elect to live with slower GPS signal acquisition, and not use the RS 150. Can the AIS power supply come off of my house bus via the appropriate fuse, or must it be powered via Seatalkng?

I have to admit, I am just an average guy who loves to fish. I have successfully installed all of the aforementioned Raymarine equipment myself, and I am hoping to be able to do the same with my planned upgrades. I Have a pretty good grasp on working with my boat, and my installation skills have worked so far. I will gladly welcome any assistance that you can offer.

Thank you.
Shawn

Power ON System Settings and Data Reset for a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs

Power ON System Settings and Data Reset for c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs

On rare occasions, a customer's c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD may not be responsive to commands and/or may cyclically reboot. This symptom is most commonly encountered following a software update within a network of a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs. Should this condition occur, then it is recommended that one first ensure that that none of the MFD's keys is stuck in the pressed state (this may happen as result of installation or re-installation of the MFD's bezel). After doing so, power the MFD ON again and then determine whether the problem persists. If so, then it is recommended that the MFD be powered OFF and that any microSD memory card and/or chart card(s) be removed from the MFD's memory card reader and that the MFD then be powered ON again to determine whether the problem persists. If so, then operation may often be restored by commanding a power ON System Settings and Data Reset. The procedure below may be used to command a power ON System Settings and Data Reset:

NOTE: Executing a System Settings and Data Reset command will permanently delete all waypoint, route, track, and log data stored within the MFD's internal memory. Executing a System Settings and Data Reset command will additionally cause all the MFD's configuration settings to be reset to the factory values. This may necessitate that the customer reconfigure these settings following the execution of a System Settings and Data Reset command.

1) Disconnect the MFD's power cable or switch power OFF to the circuit supplying power to the MFD
2) Hold the MFD's BACK button pressed while reconnecting the MFD's power cable or switching power ON to the circuit supplying power to the MFD
3) Continue to hold the MFD's BACK button pressed until the Raymarine Intialization screen is displayed. This screen will provide options to "Reset to factory defaults" and "Exit and restart the application"
4) Press the WPT button to command the MFD to execute the System Settings and Data Reset

Should the problem persist thereafter, then it would be recommended that the MFD be sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center to be bench checked / serviced.

E120 - Autopilot & GPS

$

I'm wrapping up my upgrade from a C120 to E120. My connections are as follows:

SeatalkHS - HS switch - SR100 & DSM300 - SRA 50/Transducer
Radar - analog radar
Seatalk 2 - NMEA2k backbone (via Mare-005) - Engines/trim tabs - power

That leaves the NMEA 0183 and Seatalk/Alarm Out ports open.

The last two pieces of equipment to hook up are:

1. Raystar 125
2. S2 Course computer (hooked up to fluxgate compass, rudder sensor, ST 8002, and power)

As I understand it, both are able to be hooked up to both ports. I'm currently thinking I will run the GPS to NMEA and the S2 to Seatalk. I believe this will allow direct connections and avoid any converters.

Q1 - will this configuration work and is it optimal?
Q2 - will I be able to control the autopilot from the display or simply use the track feature to goto waypoints?

eS127 Depth Display

Recently replaced an E120 Classic display with an eS127. The boat already had a CP370 sounder module. I replaced the STHS-RayNet adapter cable with a straight RayNet cable to connect the two.

Upon powering on the eS127 I can go to Chart, Radar, Data etc and the data boxes for Depth will only show --.-

However, I can go back to the Home screen, select Fishfinder (sounder source has been selected as the CP370) and I get depth, scrolling bottom contour... everything correctly.

Then I go back to Chart, Radar, Data etc and the data boxes for depth are now populated with the correct depth number.

I know the depth works correctly so maybe this is something software related? MFD is updated to v17.46.

Just looking for thoughts on this. I can tell the customer he'll have to select Fishfinder first then navigate back to any of his other pages to get depth data populated but obviously this doesn't seem right.

Thank You

Suddenly my E-80 is not reading the data card. I have initial screen at point of power on, then I gave the foundation of the second screen but no data, just a black screen with an arrow and the boxes at screen bottom but no info, just the boxes. Otherwise screen is blank. Tried looking for loose connection nnections and changing data cards. No change. Ideas?

Navionics charts and eS127 MFD

I recently purchased an eS 127 MFD with the Navionics +bundle AND the Navionics Platinum Plus card as well. My MFD has two card slots; do I insert both cards into the unit? My old E80 had one in which I inserted the Platinum Plus card and just left it there. The older I get the more technology advances - leaving me in the dust!!

Chart cards have overlapping coverage within system of Raymarine MFDs

Chart cards have overlapping coverage within system of Raymarine MFDs

When compatible Raymarine MFDs have been interfaced to one another via their respective Ethernet (SeaTalkhs / RayNet) network communications interfaces, then these MFDs will share cartography among themselves. Raymarine's MFDs are designed to utilize compatible cartography (refer to your MFD's operations guide) which has been saved onto microSD or CF memory cards (again, refer to your MFD's operations guide). Accordingly, only one chart card providing coverage for the area of operation need present within the system. Should the cartography coverage of a single chart card not provide complete coverage for the area of operation and should the MFD(s) have an unoccupied memory card reader slot(s), then additional chart card(s) may be added to the vacant chart card slot(s) of any of the networked MFDs.

Should overlapping cartography of the same type (Navionics Nautical, Navionics Sonar Charts, C-Map 4D Navigational, C-Map 4D Raster, LightHouse Raster, LightHouse Vector) be present within the system, then the MFD will display cartography of the chosen type which has been most recently updated.

Example: A Navionics+ chart card (populated with US and Canadian cartography; updated 7/26/2016), a Navionics Platinum+ chart card (US Northeast & Canyons; updated 9/3/2016), and a LightHouse US NOAA Vectors chart card (updated 1/2/2017) are present within a network of a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs. The vessel will travel from Portsmouth, NH to Annapolis, MD. The operator of the vessel has configured the Chart application to display Navionics Nautical charts. As the system's Navionic Platinum Plus chart card and Navionics+ chart card both contain Navionics Nautical chart and the Navionics Platinum Plus chart card has more recently been updated, then the Navionics Nautical Charts stored on the Navionics Platinum Plus nautical charts will automatically be displayed within the Chart application throughout the New England portion of the passage. The Navionics Nautical Charts stored on the Navionics+ chart card will automatically be displayed within the Chart application throughout the of the passage.

At the moment I have B175H and B175HW. I am aware that they will not be able to work at the same time but my question is: When I connect both of them to CP470 are both of them are going to be recognised as individual transducers? If they are recognised am I going to be able to choose one by one and run them individually?

I did not yet purchased my sonar and my HW is still unpacked and before I proceed by purchasing CP470 I would like to know is this configuration is possible or I have to return HW transducer?

I have been trying for over a day to transfer the routes from VP to my a Series MFD running version 17 Lighthouse II. The waypoints transferred without a problem. First I get the warning that some of the waypoints already exist, I select the option to do for a occurrences of the issue, then select do not copy. The almost immediately I get the red X and the message that the transfer failed.

When I check on the MFD there are not routes.
