ITC-5 speed calibration failure

$

I just replaced my A22154 triducer. The initial symptom was speed quit. Temp and depth worked fine. Speed LED on ITC-5 blinked, never went on hard. Had been working solid for two years. Replaced the sensor with a new-in-box unit (S/N 3762703).

Before connecting the new one, I cut off all but ten feet of wire from the old sensor, crimped on some 1/8" lugs, and reconnected the original to see if it was possibly the cable that had gone bad. (two year old install). To my surprise, everything came up hard lit, but the speed display was indicating about 40 kts speed. Boat is in slip. Hard to hit 40 in a sailboat there or anywhere. Thought, "OK, so it's really messed up". So, I disconnected it, and hooked up the new one. The new one came up at 80kts (bounces around a bit...70...75...90...80, etc.). I used the I70 (which previously didn't "see" the old speed xducer at all when it quit), reset to factory, and tried the calibration. I am able to go "up" to a bit over 90Kts, and down to about 48kts. At those points the up/down arrows disappear, so it appears the calibration function is operating correctly, and it's the auto-zero that isn't.

anything else I can do besides send the ITC-5 back for repair?

Voyage Planner 1.3.0.11

In the Routes tab I have created additional folders to the default folder "My Routes". I have attempted to change the My Routes folder name to something else which it seems to do BUT if I close the program and restart it the name is back to My Routes. As a test I tried to rename the folders that I created. Again it looked like it was done but when I closed and reopened the program the folder name reverted to the original name is was given when the folder was created. There is no way to change the folder name and make it stick. If you do not name your folder correctly the first time the only way to rename it is to create a new folder with the correct name, drag and drop the routes from the misnamed folder, and then delete the misnamed folder. Note the Waypoints folders do not have this issue.

Thanks for your help.

expedition software with raymarine

I currently have a STng network with raymarine wind, depth, speed sensors, i50 depth, i60 wind and CH, i70(2), e95(2), EV-1 auto pilot.
I added an actisense NGT-1 USB with a STng cable adapter to connect my laptop running Expedition software. I would like to add a Garmin GNX 120 display (NMEA2000) to the STng backbone to view my Expedition output. Is that possible? If so, can the GNX 120 display the STng data from the Raymarine sensors if the laptop is not connected?

Is anyone using Expedition with a Raymarine network?
Thanks for your suggestions.

I have an aSeries MFD on my vessel. What is the max character length for waypoint, route and folder names? The boat is being serviced and I can't check this at the moment. It is running Lighthouse II and supports splitting the screen in two. The boat is a 2015 Sea Ray 330 Sundance.

Where in the file structure are the Charts, Waypoints and Routes stored. I have put in quite a bit of information in Voyage Planner (830 Waypoints, 7 charts, and 26 routes. I would like to know where the program stores this information so that I can make a backup copy of them. There is no information in Voyage Planner about backing up any of this data.

E70153 as a start to a growing system

Hi. I bought the E70153 wind/speed/depth package utilizing i50 and i60 displays. It comes with short Seatalk cables only - no power or backbone. It is the start of a system that eventually will have a MFD, radar and AIS. What do I need to buy to do the install of the E70153 system with future expansion in mind? Can I daisy chain the displays together using the supplied Seatalk cables and buy the backbone starter kit T70134 to supply power to the system? This would be similar to the diagram of the "basic system" in the installation manual, but would have the displays attached to the backbone as a group instead of individually.

Is the purpose of the in-line terminator, part A06074 to act as a terminator of the backbone but permit a seatalkng spur to connect?
In other words, can be substituted for a A06031 terminator and A06028 T-piece?

Tacktick wind malfunction

Hi,

My S/Y is fully equipped with Tacktick wireless Instruments. Already since a while the transmission of wind-data between the masthead unit and the MN100 Display showed disruptions from time to time. About 1 month ago no wind data at all was displayed any more. Only bringing the masthead unit down to close distance to the display showed data again. Therefore I assumed that the battery in the masthead unit needs to be replaced (although there was no low-bat-warning). I organised the genuine TA125 replacement-battery and installed it. At first it worked with display and masthead unit in short distance but after mounting the masthead unit again there was no data shown on the display. Repeated autonetwork-attempts on the mast did not provide any success.

I do not have any idea how to solve that. Apparently the purchase of the new battery pack was useless. Can you please provide any assistance?

Since I am on a long term cruise it will most probably not help to send the instruments to any service center and wait for feedback. Maybe an authorized Raymarine Service Station on my route can help (I am currintly in the Caribbean Sea)?

THX in advance for your feedback.

Best regards,

Alfred/S/Y MissU

This is my first newer style Finder . I purchased 2 Dragonfly pro 7 .
One for the trolling motor the other for the driver seat. My b oat is a 1988 Skeeter SF175SX. Wow these new transducer long. Please take a looing the pics for advise on mounting transducer.
1- will show it mounted on the bottom near temp sensor
2 will show it mounted just below that where the bottom of the transducer will be a level the pad on the boat, and the mount will be actually bottom side if that make sense.
Thanks Tim

So I have a NIB A65.

I got off the phone with Navionics - This is on its Obsolete list now.

I read a thread from 2013 that Navionics + would work with it.

I would like this unit with usable maps, but what maps can I put on it.

I have read it only does 2gb max.. but what can I still get for it.

Thanks

James

M81202 Actuator - Rudder Stop Parameters

$

The manual states that the rudder stops are to be reached before the cylinder reaches the end of either stroke. I am installing new stops but would like to know what the design minimum is for the M81202. An inch before the end of stroke or a 1/16 of an inch before end of stroke? I assume that some number exists that stops the cylinder before the ends and leaves us with a 60 degree sweep with a 11.5" tiller arm.

Thank you!

es75 display settings

I am curious about two really specific things in the es75 display. first of all, can the screen be split into multiple regions for say a chart plotter map on one side and a wind machine display on the other?

Another curiosity is the wind display itself. On the wind screen where the true and apparent wind are shown I am curious if the heading to the waypoint can be displayed graphically on the dial or if it is just a numeric element of one of the corners?

Thank you in advance
