[JB11] RV-220 Mounting

I am adding two RV-220 transducers to My Axiom 12 MFD.
They are being mounted in a 34' Silverton Convertible. How far apart do the two transducers need to be for best performance? Is there a recommended minimum or maximum distance between the pair?

Axiom 12 not recognizing SR200

I had an SR200 installed on my Axiom 12 pro last October. Recently, in the audio app the unit independently started adjusting the volume and channels. When I shut it down and restarted it would not recognize the SR200 in the Audio app at all and no lights are on in the receiver. It is getting 12.7 volts to the pins on the plug into the receiver. Is there any type of reset on the receiver or another way to trouble shoot the problem other than through the audio app?

[LW11] Getting STW, TWS and TWD out of Axiom 7

I am using an Axiom 7 since a few weeks and I wonder how I can get the STW, TWS and TWD out of Axiom 7. These data are prime to build the speed polar diagram of my sailing boat.

Is there a mean do to this?

Software update does not finish

Trying to update my axiom 9 to current version of lighthouse 3. Have Quantum doppler connected to mfd. when I power up it sees the the software update in the slot. I select both and select install. On the radar it says failed to start and then it says installing with a 10 mi 45 sec estimated time. It counts down to zero and after an additional 25 min it still says installing. What can I do to make it take the update?

In the C140W I have a Navionics CF with updated charts, how can I share this to the other MFD?

Smart Controller loses connection with base station

I recently purchased a new Smart Controller (April 2020, E15023). Installation was a breeze. However the connection between the base unit and the controller is sporadic at best. Battery strength is full, but signal strength reads either full bars or no bars. The connection between the two just keeps dropping. The handset and the base station cannot stay connected for more than a minute or two.

I have tried a number of different locations on the boat to rule out any stray RF or magnetic interference. The rest of the devices on the SeaTalk bus work fine and i'm getting a good 12V reading at the base station. SW version on the handset is 2.00. When the controller sees the base station i do see a full set of SeaTalk data.

Please help me understand if there are any other troubleshooting steps to take before I have to unfortunately send it back/get it serviced.

Skipping a waypoint in a route Axiom Pro

Hopefully I can explain my question. If I create a route with say 4 waypoints in it. How can I skip a waypoint (say the first) in that route.

Example is I’m fishing and wind up away from the first waypoint in the route, but I want to begin the route from my current position. Currently if I try to do that it wants to take me to the first waypoint in the route even though it’s in the wrong direction from where I want to ultimately wind up. If I could skip that wp I could just go to the second one to start the route. Can’t seem to figure it out. Thanks in advance.

[LW11] Transducer connector seems fragile

Hi. I was wondering how I should go about connecting & disconnecting the transducer connector to my Element 9HV in a secure manner? Since I have to remove the plotter itself each time I leave the boat, I wonder about the fiddly thousand-pin-connector that the transducer cable has. It seems to be that it would be very easy to bend one or more of the small pins when connecting the cable since the connector doesn't have the plastic "steering design" as the power cable has?

Is there any smart bayonette-jack-adapter to add? Should I spray the connector with any … eh, silicone spray to make it more easy to plug in? I feel very nervous each time I plug the cable into the Element-device since it's hard to know if the tiny arrow marker on the cable is 100% aligned with the plotter's jack, and when I push down/in on the connector it's not a clear feeling if the pins has slided in. Also, the plastic ring that I fasten the connector feels very wobbly & stiff at the same time.

Please advice on the proper way to deal with this.

[TG11] noisy wheel pilot

are there any lubrication points on the wheel drive. Mine is making squeaking noise when engaged. Looking at the inner working I might expect the some sort of lub could be applied on the adjustment cam or the engagement cam, if so what kind (silicone grease, lanolin, white grease). I am sure that you don;t want any lube on the inner surface of the belt.

[TG11] Loss of GPS satellite fix

Hi-
I have a axion pro(latest/updated SW) as a master networked with my es98(LH3- latest update), ev150, Sirius SR150, rd418hd, FLIR M132 and a 150gps ant. Every time I put a waypoint in the AP within less than 5 min of running, the AP drops the “go to” with a “route complete” warning. I can put a direct heading in the AP and it seems to work fine. I noticed “satellite fix lost” alarms in alarm history. Ive tried switching from the 150 to the internal antenna with no change/same results. Please help!

[TG11] Lighthouse 3 update issues

I have never had a problem updating over wifi, this weekend i installed the same sd cards into all 3 of my axioms that i have used for every other update, all 3 have plenty of room. all of my peripherals updated fine, ie. course computer, p90r, etc. My master said it updated successfully however my other 2 units said they failed to update due to not having enough storage, I reset the units and attempted again with the same results. however all 3 units now say they are running the current software version and are all working fine. seems odd. any ideas? as to weather or not they are actually running the new version or not? Thanks for your help.

[TG11] GPS Data Conflict

I have an Axiom 9 MFD and a Camino AIS unit that is tied into the Seatalk NG network. The system worked fine until recently, when I upgraded to the most recent Lighthouse 3 software version and removed an external GPS antenna (which I thought was unused) from the system. The Axiom 9 now loses satellite fix. When I look at the satellite data page, the Axiom 9 is switching between the internal GPS receiver and the Camino AIS GPS antenna and losing signal in the process. I have the button selected for the Axiom to use its internal satellite receiver and that is the data source selected for GPS data. If I disconnect the Camino from the Seatalk NG system, the problem is resolved - the Axiom connects with up to 18 satellites and holds the fix. How can I get the Axiom to ignore the GPS data coming from the Camino AIS unit? Thanks.

[TG11] No radar overlay on Axiom/Quantum 2

Hi,
I have twin Axiom 9 MFD's, CPT-S ducer and the Quantum 2 doppler radar. The issue I am having is I can not overlay the radar on the chart screen. I have the latest Navionics chip in the Axiom. I have turned on the overlay feature but still not overlay. I am running the latest AXIOM LH3 software. What am i missing?

[TG11] CAM220IP compatibility with non-Raymarine MFDs

Hi, is the CAM220IP uses the same protocal as the FLIR M230? I have Garmin MFD's which are already connected to FLIR M230 and I would like to add a CAM220IP as well. I have contacted Garmin and they have not tested the CAM220IP, so they don't know this.

Also, can I connect the AR200 with just a NEMA2000 connection with power instead of SeaTalk?

[TG11] Axiom 12 can't find Radome

I have an Axiom 12 and an RD418HD Radome. The radome is powered by a separate switch at the helm. It seems that the MFD can't find the radar at times. It has done this a couple of times and then seems to work again. It was working the other day but yesterday it would not work at all.
The only difference is that the drain line is now connected to one of the engine blocks whereas before it was not yet connected.
I have a brand new RAYA80228 Radar cable, so I'm assuming that's not it.
Is there a sequence to be followed when firing up the MFD and radar? Do I let the MFD fully boot up before powering the radar or does it matter?
I think it "sort of" sees the radar as it displays the message "4KW 18" Digital Radome (-20158) Connecting to Radar" before timing out and telling me that no Radar was found.
Should the radome need to be sent in for service, what is the procedure? Do I need to take it to a local dealer or can I send it in directly?

[TG11] Help with Axiom Upgrade

Hi Everyone,

I am attempting an Axiom upgrade due to C80 failure and was hoping to get some confirmation I am heading in the right direction.
My current setup is simple which is good:
C80, ST60, External GPS, Std Horizon VHF with DSC, (No Radar)

I ordered an Axiom 9 with charts and C80 back plate.

I am assuming that since the Axium9 has built-in GPS, I will no longer need external GPS. I do have to connect st60 and VHF(1083). I would like to add AIS transmitter in future, so I want to ensure my current purchases will accomodate AIS upgrade down the road.

To connect ST60, I ordered

***Since there is no hookup on the c80 for depth sounder, I assume it is connected to the ST60 and by connecting ST60 to backbone, the backbone will have access to that data?
*** Is this considered the backbone am I using that correctly?

Connecting 1083 VHF:
I currently own Standard Horizon (DSC) with an older connection I assume is 1083. Raymarine suggested I purchase Actisense converter - NGW-1-STNG to connect current VHF. would this connect into the Raymarine Seatalk1 to Sea Talk-Ng Converter linked above? Will I need to purchase a second product or can I use the same backbone for ST60 listed above?
Lastly, the NGW-1-STNG conveter is $200. Can't I simply purchase another VHF radio with MNEA2000 for less?
***If I plan on purchasing AIS transmitter and Axiom has built-in GPS, the only feature I should need on VHF is DSC, correct?
