are there any problems with doing this?
will the E120W be able to show the same information as the ES127?
anything i need to watch out for?

Hi,

I have checked the Support Dowloads section looking for an update for the AIS 350. I've found the 1.3v update (.zip file) which seems to be only for PC. Is there an Apple version of it?
Many thanks in advance for your help.
Best Regards,
Fernando

I am getting ready to update my autopilot with the r4 update how do I get the update from my computer to the raymarine system? Is there a cable to connect the computer to somewhere on the raymarine system or do I put the update on a Micro SD card and run it through the MFD?

Cannot set date/time on my a75 chartplotter

I noticed my tide and current chart displays were not showing the same thing as the Navionics app on my phone. The time was way off, and I could not rely on the tide information.
So I went into System setup; System setting; Data Source; Time & Date; Select Time & Date Source. The screen then tells me "Source discovery in process" . . . but after a few seconds tells me "Date selection not possible", then "The following devices are preventing data source selection. E22158-Sea Talk-STNG-Converter S/N 0550260 Please see your user manual for details".
Well, there is no user manual for the STNG Converter. And I physically looked on the two Converters used in the system, neither of them has a serial number 0550260.
What do I do now?? Thanks for the help, in advance.

Autohelm to seatalk ng

Hello:

We are installing a new e165 MFD, quantum chirp radar, thermal imaging, Sirius weather...

We have a perfectly working (1990) Autohelm ST50 instruments, wind, speed, depth and Multi.

1. Can we use existing transducers for speed, wind and depth? If so, what is needed to connect them to the seatalk NG network?

2. Can we use the existing ST50 instruments to display readouts of the wind, speed, depth and to send the information to the seatalk NG network, or the reverse, for the MFD to send the data to the instrument displays via a seatalk to seatalk ng converter?

3. We have an autopilot SG3 (2004) course computer with an ST6001 control head. Can we interface the autopilot or the entire system including wind, depth and speed to the MFD?

Thanks,

Jeff

Interface ES128 to Robertson AP via NMEA 0183

I have a Robertson AP200DL autopilot manufactured around 1988 on my boat. This season I upgraded to an ES128 MFD along with radar and sonar.

The Robertson has a 2 wire NAV receiver connection, and supports NMEA 0183 XTE-mode, @ 4800
Messages APB, APA, XTE, RMB or XTR

I have connected:
The Yellow wire on the Robertson “NAV IN” to Yellow (positive) on ES128.
The Green wire on the Robertson “NAV RET” to Brown (Neg.) on ES128.
I believe this is correct to have the ES128 talking out port 1, and the Robertson listening.

What must I do on the ES128 to actually send messages out of port 1 at 4800 to the autopilot?

Thanks, Richard

CP200 with CP100 and DSM300

I am considering adding a CP200 side vision sonar and transducer to my current setup. I have an A98 with built-in down-vision and CPT100 transducer mount on the starboard transom. I also have a DSM300 with thru-hull sonar transducer. If I add the CP200 would I have any issues mounting the CPT200 transducer near the CPT100? What is the optimum mounting configuration? Also, will I need any additional cables to connect to the A98? I have an HD418 color radar installed as well. What are the wiring requirements for the CP200 sonar module? Just power and the transducer cable?

New ST290 data display not recognizing data

New-to-us sailboat last year came with ST290 including a spare data display new in box. One of the displays faded and died, so we unmounted it and plugged in the spare. It powers up and it daisy-chains data through to the next instrument in line...but it does not read or display any data itself. Spent lots of time in the setup menus, changed its position in the daisy chain, etc. to no avail. Is there an address recognition process or a basic set of keystrokes that we are missing in order for it to read the SeaTalk data? Thanks.

Is an i70 Multifunction Instrument Display required when using an iTC-5?

$

When an analog instrument has been interfaced to an iTC-5 Analog Instrument Transducer Converter or instrument pod(s), it is necessary that the SeaTalkng/NMEA 2000 backbone to additionally include an i70 or ST70 Multifunction Instrument Display. Raymarine Multifuction Displays (ex. A/C/E-Series Classic MFDs, C/E-Series Widescreen MFDs, a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs, etc.) are not designed to support mastership of instruments to include the calibration, offsets, alarms, etc. associated with instrument transducers. It is the function of the i70 and ST70 MFIDs to support these functions.

ST70 Control Head Died.... what now?

My ST70 Control Head power button stopped functioning. So I can not turn the unit on. I have a SPX30 control module that works fine. Does anyone have a refurbished ST70 display I could purchase?

Or do I just buy the new P70R control head and connect to my SeaTalk Ng network like my ST70 did?

Thanks
Scott

Restoring Waypoints to C80

$

I backed up waypoints on a C80 to a 16MB CF card and then upgraded the MFD. I did a restart of the MFD and it showed the current version of software available for the C80 which I believe is 5.16. I then went to restore the waypoints and the message box said it was retrieving info from the CF card but in a separate box it said it was complete and told me how to remove the card. When I went to check to see if the waypoints were there, they were not. When I viewed the CF card on my computer, I see a "Archive.FSH" file. Are my waypoints on my CF card and how do I restore them to my MFD?

Thank you.

a98, i70, RayControl installation issues

$

I have installed a new a98, a second i70 and an Android tablet as a below-decks repeater, and have hit some issues which didn't work according to Raymarine documentation. A circuit diagram is attached showing how all instruments are powered, and a network diagram is attached showing how network signals (Seatalk, STNG, NMEA 0183 etc) are interconnected. I have upgraded all firmware which would take an upgrade, such that the current situation is:

a98: v17.45-00403, S/N E70233
i70: 1.25 S/N 1221266
i70: 2.18 S/N 1250133
E22158: 2.01 S/N 0831310

The upgrades of the a98, the E22158 and one i70 were successful. The upgrade of one i70 and the SPX5 failed, with an error message saying "no update found". I have no idea why one i70 failed, except that it is several years older than the one that successfully upgraded. I am guessing the SPX5 failed because it is only connected to the network via Seatalk and NMEA 0183, not STNG. If this is the case, can you please tell me how to connect the SPX5 to STNG - it will require ordering a STNG stub cable and connecting wires of various colors to the four STNG terminals on the SPX5. I cannot find any documentation that explains which wire color goes to which terminal.

The port diagnostics page on the a98 shows that NMEA 0183 sentences are being received on both ports 1 and 2, but there is no indication that the a98 is using this data. I noted that before I upgraded to R17, the a98 showed HDG coming from the SPX5 on the NMEA 0183 port, but after the upgrade to R17, it no longer shows this - it only shows the slower 1 Hz HDG data coming from the E22158. So it appears that R17 disabled NMEA 0183 data, or something like that.

The RayViewer app works fine on the Android tablet and does what it is supposed to. But when I try to download the RayControl app, I get an error message from the Google Play store saying that this app is not available in my country (Canada). Is there some way I can get the RayControl app in Canada?

In summary, the issues I hope you can help with are listed below, in rough order of priority:
- a98 does not make use of NMEA 0183 data it receives on ports 1 and 2
- how do I download the Raycontrol app in Canada
- if STNG is a better way of getting 5 Hz HDG data from the SPX5 to the a98, and the software update from the a98 to the SPX5, then I need some documentation on what wire colors to connect to the SPX5
- how do I upgrade the software on the one i70 that failed to upgrade?

Thanks in advance for your help with these issues.

guys,
I have a c80 in my boat right now with a fish finder and gps anteanna. I just received a e80 and radar. I want to install the e80 and radar and then link the 2 together to share the gps anteanna only. I know data will share but not video.

Do I connect the wire from the seatalk rgy on the back of the c80 to what on the back of the e80?? The seatalk/alarm out or to the nmea0183?

I know I will have to splice the cables I think....

Please help....

Questions on a New Configuration

$

Hello,
I am prepared to modernize the electronics on my 2002 Sea Ray 460DA once again. I'm sure the company likes hearing that and I have been pleased overall with the Raymarine performance.
I purchased the boat used in 2007 and removed all Raymarine OEM electronics except Tridata, GPS antenna, and ST7001+ autopilot. I added two screens, E120 and E80 with DSM 300, Ray 218, SR 100 and a new HD Digital 4kw 48" open array. The recent crash of my systems due to the Sirius XM weather conflict is now fixed with a software update but it prompted me to look at all the recent advances in navigation electronics including WiFi and trip planning remotely. Here are my questions for an optimum configuration for the 460, used exclusively in the Great Lakes.
1) Because the MFD are less deep, I can now fit two 12" screens. I spoke with Ron yesterday at HQ and he suggested both the eS127 and eS128. He said I can have two different sonar images running simultaneously that will not interfere. What transducers do you recommend? I have the DSM transducer there presently along with a transom mount secondary for the Tridata.
2) I really depend on my SR 100 and apparently I can retain that. Is a bridge connector required?
3) Do I need a new bus now? I believe I have the Hsb2 and would need SeaTalk NG?
4) I want to get the new Evolution autopilot. Although my type 1 pump still functions, it's getting old. I plan to upgrade to a type 2. So do I assume that I should be opting for a EV 400 power boat configuration pack?
5) The heart of this conversion is that my HD Digital radar should be compatible, correct? Otherwise I have to re-think this.
6) Later I will assess adding a WiFi antenna, modern Tridata or other but wish NOT to cut holes in the dash. (The autopilot swap will require a bit of minor cosmetic surgery on the dash.)
Any help is appreciated in confirming my potential order. I just do not wish to make any expensive mistakes due to poor planning. Thanks.

Dragonfly 4 questions...

Dragonfly 4 Pro Gold purchased about 24 months ago roughly.

Simple stuff - my downvision never looks like the advertised, it just looks like sonar - wondered if you have any insights. Could I have a bad transducer or the wrong one?

I saw a picture of an ipad using wifish with the chart on it, but mine ipad only options the sonar or downvision. Any thoughts?

My bracket for my transducer got broken by the shrink wrap crew, but the transducer is fine. I can't find anyplace to order it online. Will I have to buy the entire ducer? Which one does the Dragonfly 4 use?

What is the difference between the wifish unit and the dragonfly 4?
