Axiom 3.8.105 Update Fail

I attempted to upgrade from LHIII 3.8.97 to LHIII 3.8.105, via direct download to the unit, but it failed twice.

As the unit tried to load the firmware, there was obviously a problem with either the downloaded file or where it was saved/loaded from. I was presented a screen that read as follows...

Top in Yellow read the following

Raymarine Recovery
Left power swipe cycles highlights
Right power swipe activates

Then the following in cyan...

Reboot system now
Apply Update from Primary SD Card Slot
Reboot to Bootloader
Wipe Data/factory reset
Wipe Cache partition
Power Off

It would be nice to be able to save a copy of the downloaded file locally if this is not being done. I assume it is not as the process does not allow a file location to be specified.

[DG11] A70d software update

I want to update the firmware in my A70d plotter.
Put the software on a CF card 16GB
The plotter did not started up.
Pushing the power-button gives some lights on the screen and then goes to black again. Nothing happens.

Please help

[DG11] Tides depending on chart

Hi, is there a difference in how tides and currents are displayed depending on chart supplier? I got C-MAP 4DMAX+ and I'm very disappointed with it showing tide and currents. Question, will it look different with Navionics+? I screen dump would be much appreciated .

[DG11] multiple Axiom MFD updates

I have two Axiom MFDs ( 9 & 12) If I download the most recent version of Lighthouse to my PC I can move the download to a micro sd. Then I can easily access the micro sd slot for my Axiom 9 but getting to the micro sd slot on my Axiom 12 requires ninja like skill. Is there anyway to update my Axiom 12 using the Axiom 9 or by Bluetooth? I'm in the Bahamas and the wifi service is very slow at anchor. I can take my computer to town where there is better wifi and download the latest lighthouse version there. But, I still need to figure a way to get the latest version in both MFDs.

[DG11] Raymarine A98 Rebooting Repeatedly

We recently upgraded all of our electronics. Previously, we had our A98 MFD with the old ST60+ autohelm, wind, and tridata. We now have the A98 MFD with the P70S display for the ACU 400 and 2 multi-displays. We just completed the install and powered everything up- all good! After several minutes (no more than 10) while we were setting the new i70S's up, the charplotter rebooted. Okay, weird, but fine. Then a few minutes later it did it again, but this time it just kept rebooting the boot-up screen with the lighthouse on it. It eventually got past that screen to the main one where we selected 'Charts' before it promptly rebooted itself again. One other issue is that the AIS data that used to feed into the MFD is no longer being received. (iCom MXA-5000 Receiver plugged directly into MFD) Any advice as to what might be going on or how to fix these issues?

[DG11] Will the go12 XSE display work with old Radar RD218 2 kw Dome

Is it possible to make the go12 XSE display work with my old Radar RD218 2 kw Dome

I presently have an C80 plotter with a RD218 2kw Dome and been struggling with the small cumbersome display

The new go12 XSE would fit in space on my 2601 Striper but I really don't want to replace the seldom used Radar.

Is there a workaround to combine both units?

[DG11] ST7002 Autopilot

Good morning from Green Turtle Cay, Abacos. I’m hoping y’all can help me solve my autopilot (Raymarine ST7002) problem. We recently crossed from Ft. Pierce to the Abacos and the autopilot worked fine until we made the banks. The ap began to drift off course 30 degrees to starboard. The +1, -1, +10, -10 buttons would show desired heading changes correctly on the ap display pad at the helm without any corresponding changes to the rudder or actual course being steered.

I checked the locker areas near the fluxgate compass in the aft stateroom and found no metal objects that may have interfered with the compass.

I recalibrated the autopilot compass by turning the boat in circles and found only a 2degree variation. I completed the recal and the compass at the helm agrees with the autopilot control/display pad and the MFD( off by 1degree).
The rudder indicator on the ap display shows correct positions of the rudder.

While sitting still with the ap display showing a heading straight ahead, I turned the rudder full starboard and touched “auto” and the ap turned the rudder back to center to the straight heading. The same was confirmed when turning to port.

The + and - degree buttons still would not change the rudder angle.

I finally completed a system “reset” and while doing so noticed the Latitude was still set at 38 degrees; the same as when commissioned in 2008. (I mistakenly thought the MFD would provide the current Latitude to update the ap Latitude setting. )
I changed the Latitude to 26 degrees and completed the reset. Unfortunately, the + and - degree buttons will still not change the rudder heading.

I searched the Raymarine forum, but did not find a similar discussion of the symptoms.

Any ideas and suggestions are most welcome.

One last bit of info, I checked the source for the autopilot on my eS127 MFD and it shows 2 sources; STNG and NMEA. The NMEA is selected. I tried to select STNG but it will not allow it to be selected and switches back to NMEA.

Also, if we need a raymarine technician, is there anyone in the Bahamas? We are currently in the Abacos.

[CA11] Replacing C90W with Axion MFD

Replacing cockpit and Nav station C90W with Axiom 7 on Swan 40. Cable conduits are full, and cannot pull Raynet ends through. I can use the existing 14/2 power supplies for the new MFDs. Can I use the existing, good condition, HS cable, and splice in the RayNet cable ends ?

Good evening,

I have an odd question for you..

In the Raymarine video for UAV integration, it shows the remote control for the Mavic Pro on a mount

I can't find that anywhere for the life of me ... Would it be possible to ask the person/team responsible for making that video what make/mfg/model that mount is so i can buy one also?

[DG11] Color bleed on C120 screen

When I update my C120 to v.5.16 I get color bleed on the screen in several places. If I go back to using v.4.30 the color bleed goes way. Is there a way around this?

[CA11] Networking eS127 to Axiom question

Current setup – (as mentioned in a previous post) eS127 running latest LH3 software with EV-1, Quantum Radar, in hull transducer and a RMK9.

My goal is to add Real Vision to my setup so I want to get an Axiom 7 or 9 with RV and it will be mounted right next to my eS127 on the dash.

Question - When I network the eS127 to the new Axiom and set the Axiom to master - while viewing RV on the eS127 from the Axiom will the Axiom be doing the processing of the images? In other words knowing the eS127 processor is much slower than the Axiom will the RV be as fluid and fast as when viewed on the eS127 as it would be directly on the Axiom?

I ask because my main goal is to have RV and the Axiom 7” unit is much cheaper than the 9” so if the processors in the Axioms are all the same and it is duplicated on the eS127 then I might opt for the smaller 7” Axiom.

My old autopilot (5000+) appears to have died. In considering a replacement I would like to purchase the entire kit including pump. Which one should I be looking at for twin 200 outboards with hydraulic steering?

I purchased a standard horizon gx2200 with AIS, that uses the NMEA 0183 protocol. It has the wires, I want to connect this to my seatalk hs5 network switch.

Would one of these work? If so whic one?

More info if it helps.....


The GX2200 uses NMEA 0183 protocol to share coordinates, DSC and AIS information to and from a GPS chart plotter. The GX2200 transfers AIS infor- mation to a GPS chart plotter or PC at 38400 baud (sometimes called HS). GPS and DSC information is transferred between a GPS chart plotter with multiple ports (minimum 2) at 4800 baud (default setting).

Installed a new Axiom 9 Pro system Last year. Immediately realized that the Advanced Sailing Tools (e.g Lay Lines, Polar Table inputs) available in Lighthouse ii were not available. Your FAQ's noted, and still note, they were to be added, and your sales staff at Defender show and support confirmed that.

Downloaded 3.8, but have not installed, but update manual makes no reference. Have these promised features been added? Status?

I would like to broadcast my 10 year old ST-6001 Autopilot output data and my new this year ST-50 Tridata output data to my i-Phone or i-Pad. Does Raymarine offer a suitable interface add on? If not RayMarine are there other reliable aftermarket suppliers doing this??

[CA11] Axiom not displaying heading after update

I installed the latest update for my Axiom Pro, and now every once in a while the chartplotter doesn't display the Heading vector, even when selected in the options. It shows the COG but not the heading.

My system info are in the screenshots attached.
