[CA11] After softwware update

$

I have 4 axiom 9 mfd. (2) at the console and (2) at the bow. I have one as the master and two of the units networked to it -

After the latest 3.8.97- I had to do a factory reset because the unit wouldn’t recognize transducer. After getting that figured out. I’m not able to read the water temp at the master unit. I’m getting -.-

Second issue- one that I hadn’t noticed before. I’m losing bottom on plane at higher speeds. Trolling speeds are ok most of the time. I have a p-72 and rv-100.

Do I need to assign where to get the water temp from ? Data source? Reinstall software?

Thanks in advance

[CA11] Axiom Pro 12 and SPX30

I have just upgraded by nav system electronics to a new Axiom Pro 12 MFD and a Quantum 2 Radar.

In the process I switched from a SeaTalk-1 network backbone to a SeaTalk-ng backbone.

Both the Axiom and the SPX30 are connected via the SeaTalk-ng.

My ST60 Depth and Speed instruments are connected to the new network via a ST-ng to ST-1 converter.

I use a ST7002 control head to control the SPX30 via the same ST-ng to ST-1 converter used for the ST60 data.

I am aware that the Axiom cannot control the SPX30. However, for specific safety reasons, I actually do not want the MFD to be able to control the autopilot.

The Axiom interchanges route and waypoint data with the SPX30 just fine.

...Joe

When I check network data sources on the Axiom with the SPX30 powered off, the ST-ng to ST-1 converter is listed as the source of the depth and speed data and the correct values of data are shown.

If I do the same thing with the SPX30 powered on, a statement is displayed that the sources of Depth and Speed can't be shown because the SPX30 is on the network. However, looking at the dashboard the depth and speed are shown.

What is going on?
Are software updates required. (Can the SPX30 software be updated?)

The Axiom is using the as-shipped LH3 SW version and there is a newer update that I will install when I'm satisfied with the system operation as is.

[DG11] c80 Fix Loss

Sorry but I can't seem to find forum info on my C80 problem. This navigation product came with the boat (2008 Beneteau 393) and bought in 2009. This past year I kept losing my nav fix after operating smootly for several years. At first I thought it was a low voltage on the boat battery problem but after several well charged attempts I believe it is something else. Places where I have been several times before and never had a problem now after about 20 minutes of fixes it alarms and goes away. It has the latest software revision. What can I try to narrow down the problem? Thanks, Bob

[CA11] Axiom Pro S internal sonar question

Good morning to all!

The manual for the Axiom Pro 12 S (E70482) cites this MFD as having a “built-in 600W sonar module.” However, the manual for the CP470 CHIRP Sonar Module has a section (2.5) that cites the internal technology of all three Axiom PRO S (9”, 12”, 16”) MFDs as “200W CHIRP sonar”. So, my questions are, what is the sonar power rating of the Axiom PRO 12 S? Is it 600 watts, 200 watts, or something else?

Thanks for your time and attention.

[CA11] Axiom Pro S transducer compatibility

The Axiom Pro 12 S (E70482) manual states that, “only CPT-S series transducers can be connected to Axiom Pro S variant MFDs” and it goes on to indicate that an adaptor cable (A80490) is needed to make the connection between the Axiom Pro S MFD and the CPT-S transducer. In this same manual, there is no mention of connecting to a sonar module. In the CP470 CHIRP Sonar Module manual however, there is a chart in section 3.3 that indicates compatible MFDs and the Axiom Pro S variants are cited as being compatible. So, the questions are, can a CP470 CHIRP Sonar Module be used with an Axiom Pro S variant MFD? If so, what connection would be used between the Sonar Module and the Axiom Pro S MFD? Does each device merely connect to the NMEA2000 backbone via Seatalkng adaptor cables? If not, then what?

Thanks!

Hi Raymarine support, can you please answer the questions below, thanks;
I will be connecting the AIS650 to a Raymarine E125 Hybrid
I Know I need to fit the supplied AS650 external GPS to the AIS650 also a VHF AIS antenna (3db gain)
Which cable do I need for a direct fit to connect AS650 to the E125 Hybrid?
Will there be an automatic AIS overlay on the screen of the E125 Hybrid?
I do not have any Seatalk cable's as I have nothing else to go into the E135 Hybrid
Will any 12v in line fused power cable from a bus bar be OK for the AIS650?
I have a stand alone ES98 for my sounder & back up GPS mapping

thanks

hey im preparing to roll back my evo autopilot gear im running the garmin 720p plotter with gnx10 garmin wired Gwind, due to it not following autotrack feature. but I was told to have things updated to correct a wind vane track issue last july between the garmin wind transducer and the raymarine autopilot during wind tack mode

I have now seen in the FAQ found here to roll the software back.

I have two e125 I would like to replace them with two 12" Axiom.
I called support they told me that they did not offer a adapter for my e125.
I was at Miami show this past weekend spoke with them there they said adapter A80528 is the one I need.
Can someone clear this up I would love to buy two if this adapter will work.
Thanks

[CA11] Gs165 Issues

Hello,

Issues I am encountering:

MFD is over heating. To touch the unit it feels extremely hot at times almost too hot to keep my hand on it. I intend to add some fans to cool the unit from behind.
Is this normal to require additional cooling?

Random system power cycle on its own. I suspect from the over heating?? It is as though I just turned it off and on again.

I am loosing random squares of sonar chart recordings of about 1/2 mile. Recently I had a square of sonar live info that would flash on then off repeatedly.

Today I started the MFD and my entire system had reset to default settings. I have lost All waypoints and all information saved on the MFD. Sonar chart data that I have recorded was not lost.
Is there any way of recovering my lost waypoints?

The unit was used on another boat without issue and only since the recent install on a different boat have I run into these issues.

A general opinion on the situation with any pointers on how to sort it out would be helpful.

[TG11] Create your own shortcuts / Multiple screen setup

It is currently quite clunky to get out of an app (say playing a song in Spotify) and back to the sonar page you were previously looking at (at least 4 button presses). It would be great to be able to customise a shortcut so that I can access the most used pages from a quick pop up menu.

In addition to controlling the brightness jointly, it would be great to set up screen setups on the master that have customised views for multiple screens (in my case 3 screens). This would enable the data displayed on all three screens to be changed to the desired pattern with the press of one button.

I appreciate that this is being a bit pedantic as the above settings do not take that long to achieve, but I believe they would be good features to include as the software continues to be developed.

Thanks

[TG11] Marking Fish in Deeper water

Hi,

i have an Axiom 9 with the RV-100.

it is marking fish in shallow water up to about 30 meters deep.

i have been out a few times between 90 and 130 meters and it shows the depth fine, it doesn't seem to be marking fish though screen is completely blue and only shows the bottom. i thought its just that there wasnt many fish in the sea the first couple of times :) even though others where catching fish near us..

i went out last weekend offshore to a Fish Attracting device and we where able to see the fish jumping out of the water and heaps under the boat, the depth was about 130 meters and it still was not showing anything on the sonar, i tried to adjust the settings from the default AUTO setting and couldn't work out what to set them at and which one to adjust.

From all the searching i have been doing on this forum for the last few months, the Axiom 9 with the RV-100 should mark fish up to about 300 meters?

i have the latest software installed.

ST8001 auto pilot

I have an 2005 ST8001 connected to two E120s though Sea-talk. I've been having issues with it and was wondering if a ST8002 would be ok as a replacement and if the ST8002 would work with the existing remote control?

[DG11] socket for Ray240E handset

$

Hello, where can I find - as a single spare part - the socket on my dashboard, where the cable from the Ray240E handset is plugged in?
I have attached a photo of the socket. The contact pins are baggy and make loose connections with the handset plug.
The socket is factory fitted at the end of the cable from the loudspeaker, which is then connected to the VHF controller.
I don't want to replace the whole cable and loudspeaker, because it is installed through the structure of the boat, difficult to access.
My plan would be to cut off the socket from the cable, and solder a new socket onto the cable. Therefore I would need a new socket as a spare part.
Can I purchase one from Raymarine? Is there a part number?
Or can somebody give me a clue about the brand and type of this socket/plug connection, so that I can check the electronic industry supplies?
With kind regards

[CA11] Boat Drifts Sideways; Port 2 Starboard. F.F. Capabilities

When motors are off, and we set up to fish, the boat drifts side ways. Port 2 Starboard, or Starboard 2 Port.
How will the RealVision 3D, CHIRP SideVision, CHIRP DownVision, Low-power, high-frequency CHIRP work, as the transducers won't be in the correct position. Does the RealVision 3D, CHIRP SideVision, CHIRP DownVision only work when trolling, anchored up, or moving forward? The boat will be drifting side to side. Or, will it not work, and need to rely on traditional transducer mode.

[CA11] Es78 w/audio system multiple questions

Excuse me for thé newby quesrions, been trying to find the answers without success. I recently bought a 2004 maxum 4200sy, with no radio and an outdated garmin 3210 installed. I want to refresh the electronics and I have bought a es78, seems to be perfect for my needs and price was good enough to try it without too many questions. Now I have few questions i hope you guys can help me with!

I don’t fish at all, I will travel mostly on lake Champlain and the Great Lakes during the summer, plan to head to Florida during the winter.

1- unit bought new without a transducer. I guess it’s inoperative without one? I planned to use the unit primarily for charts, do I need a transducer? I already have a working depth finder with the garmin.

2- would prefer not making holes in the hull, but if I have to do one, which transducer should I buy? Is there any that can give forward vision/detection?

3- I see they can pair to my audio controls, I was looking for either a clarion cms4 or a fusion head, I saw on raymarine website the Rockford fosgate seemed to be prefered, but I haven’t found any distributor for them, and frankly, the product doesn’t appeal to me. Any suggestions? Should I go fusion or something else? If fusion is the good choice, do I have to invest in the Apollo série or the regular units are easy and friendly enough?
