(DG) Auto Pilot Failure

$

I have an issue that just popped up on EV100 wheel drive autopilot. I took the boat out for a sail and my autopilot flashed no autopilot device found. My C series MFD and autopilot display are communicating and look normal. The system is about two years old and in good condition. I updated the software about 8 months ago on the MFD and haven’t had any issues with the autopilot or other devices. Any idea what this may be?

Thanks,
David

[CA] Upgrading MFD

I wanted to upgrade my electronics to include radar and a upgraded MFD. The boat is a 2008 Formula 400SS with a E120 MFD, a ST60+ display and Mercury Marine Vessel View. Without any planning I purchased and installed a RD418HD Radome. I am now at the stage of upgrading the MFD and looking for suggestions on compatibility.

The existing E120 had the following connections in use: Seatalk High Speed, Seatalk Alarm Out (6 pin male), Power (3 pin male).

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

[CA] Complete Refit with Axiom Pro 9 and AIS950

Please provide properly matched product recommendations for a complete Raymarine electronics configuration for my sailboat refit.

I'd like the system to include the Axiom Pro 9 MFD in combination with the AIS950. I would also like to include new instruments, (preference for T104 wireless instruments), VHF, radar, and autopilot components.

Finally please provide the proper network configuration recommendations as well.

[CA] C120 Upgrade to Axiom?

I have a C120 and I would like to upgrade to a new display.
1) Is there a template or adapter for the Axiom or any other display?
2) I have a DSM 30. Would the new Axioms need this for the sounder or no? The DSM seems problematic.
3)Will my existing Thru hull transducer hook right up? It's likely a 2005 C120 and Airmar bronze thru hull.

[CA] Raystar 125 versus GA150 on Axiom Pro

Hello, my functioning Raymarine C80 setup is being replaced with an Axiom Pro. The current C80 uses a Raystar 125 on top of my pilot house. I plan to continue to use an external GPS receiver.

The Raystar 125 would use NMEA 0183.

The cost to me of the GA150 isn't much because I have a store credit I could use. Its just a matter of removing the old one.

Is there much benefit in replacing the Raystar 125 with a GA150?

Thanks,

Mike

[CA] Behavior of networked LH3 MFDs

$

I have an existing Axiom 9 RV connected to an RV 100 transducer and I have recently added an Axiom 7 DV connected to a B60 transducer. Both MFDs have been updated to LH v.3.4.66 and they are connected via a Raynet (F) to Raynet (F) cable with the Axiom 9 set as the Data Master. As nearly as I can tell with the boat sitting on the trailer, they are successfully sharing sonar, chart and NEMA 2k data.

Although I am no stranger to older stand alone sonars and chart plotters with shared NMEA data, I am new to networked MFDs. Perhaps I have missed it but there does not seem to be much information about the behavior of networked MFDs in the LH3 manual. I had expected that the 2 MFDs would share data but would function completely independently, each with it's own homescreens and app pages.

Similar to what Wstandis reported in a recent thread, I found that when I opened the sonar app simultaneously on both MFDs, changes such as data overlays or selected channel were immediately mirrored on the other display. I then found that added or deleted MFD app pages were immediately mirrored on the other display's homescreen. I concluded that I had been running the same instance of the sonar app on each MFD and corrected my problem by creating "Sonar 1" and "Sonar 2" which seem to function independently on each screen. I created similar duplicate pages for other apps that I might want to run simultaneously on each display.

I am satisfied with how my system is now working but I did use up a bunch of the available app pages by creating duplicates. In your response to Wstandis you suggested that he should perform a Factory Feset to correct what seems to be a similar situation. As a result, I am now questioning my understanding of how the system should work.

Q 1. Is it correct for changes to one MFD's homescreen/app pages to be mirrored on other displays in the network?

Q 2. Is it correct that, when the same app is running simultaneously on multiple networked MFDs, changes made on one MFD are mirrored on the others?

Q 3. If the above are incorrect, should I reset both MFDs and if so, would I need to perform a Factory Reset or would a System Reset be likely to correct the issue without loosing my custom app pages, data overlays, etc?

[CA] EV-1 devicenet connection

Installing my EV1, and see there is 2 connection points on the Ev-1 sensor. 1 SeaTalkng, and 1 Devicenet (standard N2K). My backbone and all spurs are done in the Maretron cabling, and I'd like to minimize the number of conversions from STng to Devicenet plugs.

Can I use the Devicenet port, instead of the STng port, on the EV-1 to connect to the backbone?

Adding temperature to the Fishfinder application within LightHouse 3 MFD

Adding temperature to the Fishfinder application within LightHouse 3 MFD

In order to display water temperature, the system must be interfaced to a transducer which features a thermistor and has been installed in a manner that it is in direct contact with water. MFDs running LightHouse 3 software (Axiom MFD, Axiom Pro MFD, or eS/gS-Series MFD which has been updated with LightHouse 3 software) support the following three options for showing Water Temperature within your system:
- Customize the MFD's Sidebar to add Water Temperature
- Configure the application to display a Data Overlays which has been configured to display Water Temperature
- Customize one of data cells within a Dashboard application Data panel to display Water Temperature.

Information concerning these data related features maybe found within the latest version of the LightHouse 3.4 Advanced Operation Instructions. Information concerning the Sidebar may be found within Chapter 3.2 Sidebar. Information concerning Data Overlays may be found within Chapter 3.3 Data overlays. Information concerning Data Overlays may be found within Chapter 12 Dashboard app.

The procedures below specifies how a Data overly may be displayed and then populated with the Water Temp data item. Within the application being viewed use the following command sequence:
1. Select MENU->MENU->SETTINGS->PAGE SETTINGS->EDIT DATA OVERLAYS.
2. Select the ADD... option displayed
3. Select WATER TEMP from the list of data items displayed
4. Hold your finger pressed atop the displayed data overly and drag it to the desired location within the screen
5. Select the DONE... option displayed

Hi Chuck,

I finally purchased my T103 speed/depth package. When i got the box it looked pretty worn and been around. I'd like to know the manufacture date of these units as the batteries do have a life span and if this thing has been sitting on some bodies shelf for 5+ years i'd like to bring that up with them.

I have attached a picture of the box with s/n's

Thanks
