Import failed- VoyagePlanner to Axiom

I get “import failed” when trying to import a gox file created by the Voyage Planner (windows).

I updated the Axiom to latest version, I have the latets charts in the SD card, this is my procedure:

- Create route using click and point, I created two routes with 99 and 65 waypoints.

- Route names are NM-PlantYICW and NM-PlantYHawk
-Right click on route, export, route appears on the transfer container
-At the transfer container click the arrow, file on disk, gps format, standard gpx
-Delete route from transfer container
-Repeat for other route
-SD card is blank, formated with fat32, 32GB
-Insert card in Axiom, my data, import/export, import from card, select card
-Both routes show up with a gps extension ( 29.1kb and 42.6kb sizes)
-Click on one the first time and says “import failed”.
-If you go back and check waypoints in the Axiom it shows it has actually copied one waypoint
-Subsequent tries I get “A waypoint with name WPT099 already exists in the lect and option”: keep both, replace and cancel. Regardless of the answer it says “import failed” and if you go check it has copied another waypoint

What do I do?

Smart Controller

I'm upgrading all my equipment to the latest generation electronics (Axiom Pro's, i70s, p70x, Quantum radar, etc.)

All devices are either SeaTalkng or NMEA 2000, with the exception of my Smart Controller base station, which will be connected via a Seatalkng-to-SeaTalk converter. Wind instrument will be connected to an iTC-5.

There will be NMEA 2000 devices connected as well, such as my Fusion radio, utilizing the correct DeviceNet cable, of course.

THE QUESTION/PROBLEM:

The SeaTalkng reference guide states that there is a limitation when a SeaTalk device is connected to the SeaTalkng network... it says:

======
Limitations when SeaTalk(1) products are connected:
If SeaTalkng and SeaTalk(1) products are used together, do NOT connect an NMEA2000 backbone, as this product combination could compromise the integrity of the NMEA2000 system."
======

Will I be able to connected NMEA 2000 devices to the network even though I have the Smart Controller connected via the Seatalkng-to-SeaTalk converter?

Planned NMEA 2000 devices: DST-800, Fusion Radio, Yanmar Engine (with ECI-100).

Hi, I want to replace my old E Series Classic Display (E120), which should I buy?

Replacing an E-Series Classic MFD(s) with an Axiom Pro MFD(s)

Replacing an E-Series Classic MFD(s) with an Axiom Pro MFD(s)

Please note that the a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs may not be installed within an Ethernet (SeaTalkhs/RayNet) network which additionally includes E-Series Classic MFDs. As such, should the current system presently feature more than one E-Series Classic MFD, then all of the E-Series Classic MFDs will need to be replaced with Axiom MFDs and/or Axiom Pro MFDs. Raymarine's Axiom MFDs and/or Axiom Pro MFD may be mixed or matched in any combination within an Ethernet network of Axiom MFDs and/or Axiom Pro MFDs. The Axiom MFDs and/or Axiom Pro MFD are designed to share all system data with one another via the Ethernet network to which they will be interfaced.

MOUNTING: Raymarine offers a limited set of adapter mounting plates which is expected to grow over time. To view the which Axiom Pro Adapter Plates are currently available, click here.

POWER: The currently installed power cable will need to be replaced with the cable supplied with the Axiom Pro MFD.

ETHERNET: Should the E-Series Classic MFD currently be interfaced to the system via a SeaTalkhs Cable, then the Axiom Pro MFDs and/or Axiom MFDs replacing the E-Series Classic MFD(s) may be adapted to use the currently installed SeaTalkhs Cable by using an A80160 SeaTalkhs (F) to RayNet (F) Adapter.

RADAR: Please click here to view a FAQ addressing how to add radar features to an Axiom / Axiom Pro MFD.

SEATALK: Please click here to view a FAQ addressing how to interface products having a SeaTalk interface to a SeaTalkng backbone, to which the Data Master Axiom MFD or Data Master Axiom Pro MFD will also be interfaced.

EXTERNAL ALARM: Please click here to view a FAQ addressing how to add an alarm to the Axiom Pro MFD.

NMEA 0183: The NMEA 0183 leads of any NMEA 0183 devices which are presently interfaced to the E-Series Classic MFD's NMEA Cable will need to be disconnected from this cable and will instead be spliced to the corresponding leads of the Axiom Pro MFD's Power/NMEA 0183/Video Input Cable.

SEATALKNG/NMEA 2000: Should the Data Master E-Series Classic MFD be interfaced as a spur to SeaTalkng/NMEA 2000 backbone, the Data Master Axiom Pro MFD or Data Master Axiom MFD may be interfaced to a SeaTalkng/NMEA 2000 backbone constructed from SeaTalkng networking components via a SeaTalkng to DeviceNet Female adapter cable (A06045).

Video Input: The E-Series Classic MFDs support video input from up to four analog NTSC/PAL video sources. Raymarine’s Axiom Pro MFDs support video input from one analog NTSC/PAL video source. Analog video input received via an Axiom Pro MFD may be be shared with other Axiom Pro MFDs and Axiom MFDs within an Ethernet Network. Should a compatible Raymarine or FLIR branded thermal camera need to be interfaced to the system, then it will need to be interfaced to the video input socket of a Axiom Pro MFD’s Power/NMEA 0183/Video Input Cable. Other analog NTSC/PAL video input devices may be either interfaced to the video input socket of an a Axiom Pro MFD’s Power/NMEA 0183/Video Input Cable or to a compatible video encoder which has in turn been interfaced to the system's Ethernet network.

Video Output: The Axiom MFDs and Axiom Pro MFDs support transmission of the MFD’s screen image to a TV or monitor supporting Miracast or support use with a Miracast dongle.

FISHFINDER(s): When interfaced to a compatible transducer, and/or to another Axiom MFD or Axiom Pro MFD which has been interfaced to a compatible transducer, and/or to a CP100, CP200, CP370, CP450, or CP570 Fishfinder Sounder Module, which in turn has been interfaced to a compatible transducer the Axiom Pro MFD (as well as the other Axiom MFDs and Axiom Pro MFDs which have been interfaced to it), the Axiom Pro MFD will support the corresponding finder sonar features.

PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION: While the replacement of this equipment is well within the capabilities of those familiar with marine electronics equipment installation, there will be some cable splicing and cable chasing required. Should this not be within your comfort zone or skills, then click here to locate a Certified Raymarine Installer in your area.

WAYPOINTS, ROUTES, AND TRACKS: Please click here to view a FAQ addressing this subject.

CARTOGRAPHY - Navionics cartography which has been programmed onto CF memory cards may not be used with Axiom Pro MFDs and Axiom MFDs. Please click here to view a FAQ addressing this subject.

AIS Targets not showing in i70s

I have just installed an i70s Instrument to my SeaTALKng backbone. While AIS targets appear on my C140w they don’t show on my new i70s. The AIS-B is an older West Marine AIS1000. I have confirmed that the AIS is transmitting normally. And AIS is fully functional on my chartplotter.

Tide info

I recently purchased and had installed a network of 5 Axiom MFDs. I am using a new C-Map chart card and have the latest Lighthouse 3 software update installed. However, the only info I can get from the chart is the name of the tide station. Will this be available on a future software update?

Thank you,
Marc

System upgrade to new Axiom 9's, auto pilot, radar.

I currently have the following equipment:

- E80 Classic
- Open array 4 kw radar (analog)
- Raytheon RayData
- S1G Smart Pilot
- ST 8001 Controller
- Ray 54 VHF
- Transducer for depth (and possibly speed as it doesn't seem to be anywhere near accurate).

Would like to replace with:

- Two (2) Axiom 9 MFD's. My understanding is that if I network the two displays using a HS5 Raynet switch, I can use one Axiom 9 RV with RealVision and Navionics+ North America Charts and one standard Axiom 9 as a repeater and I will have all the functionality of the 9 RV on both displays, is this correct? Also, do they both have to have the Navionics charts or will the 2nd display get the Navionics info from the first?

- EV 200 Power Auto Pilot, EV-1 Sensor Core, P70R Control Head and Evolution Cabling kit, less drive and rudder reference. - From what I can tell from the Raymarine website and Forum, my current drive unit and rudder reference should work, but I would need you to confirm. It appears the Auto pilot uses a SeatalkNG connection. If this is true, is there a cable with the proper ends to connect it to the HS5 Raynet switch?

- Enhanced 4 kW HD Color Radar Pedestal w/ 48" HD scanner. If I would direct connect to the Axiom 9 RV, will I have the ability to have the radar return visible on either or both displays? Radar overlay as well?

- RV-220 (Bronze) Thru-Hull CHIRP Transducer Pack. Direct connect to one of the displays, visible on both?

- Ray 260 VHF

Will this set up provide me with the ability for all equipment to communicate with each other (including radar overlay and the ability for the autopilot to follow a course laid out on the gps from either display.)?

Would I run power to each display individually using the supplied cables and run separate power to the network via the EV 200?

Thank you,
Brian

AXIOM Pro RayNet

My system will have two AXIOM Pro MFDs. Each MFD has two RayNet connections.

One of the two Raynet connections on each unit will be used to connect the two AXIOMs via Raynet.

With one display powered Off, is the Raynet information connected to the second Raynet connection on the "Off" display, still bridged to the display that is powered ON?

Thanks,

Jon

P70 No pilot error and mode page blank

I have a P70 control head and an EV-1 ACU 200 which has been working fine all season, but yesterday the P70 started displaying a no pilot error, and the menu/mode page is blank. I checked voltages on the ACU 200, and there is 12V on both sides of the main fuse, and the seatalk power fuse. I have also checked all of the seatalk connections and they are all tight. How do I go about troubleshooting this?

The e7d has a 7"+/- diagonal display. My iPad has a 12"+ diagonal display. Will the RayControl app display the e7d on the iPad as a 7" diagonal display area with a black surround or will it fill the 12" diagonal space basically converting the networked e7d to a 12" display?

AIS targets not displayed on i70/i70S MFID

AIS targets not displayed on i70/i70S MFID

The i70/i70S MFIDs will only display AIS targets when all of the following criteria have been satisfied:
- an operational AIS receiver or AIS transceiver has been interface to the system's SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone. Raymarine MFDs are not designed to bridge AIS data received via their NMEA 0183 communications interface to SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000. Accordingly, the AIS receiver or AIS transceiver lacking a SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 communications interface will need to be interfaced to a NMEA 0183 to NMEA 2000 data bridging device (ex. Actisense NGW-1-ISO-AIS, etc.), which in turn will be interfaced as a spur to the system's SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone.
- the AIS receiver is receiving AIS target data from an AIS transceiver equipped vessel(s) which is in range
- the system is interfaced to a GPS receiver and the GPS receiver has acquired a GPS position FIX
- Heading data is available within the system. COG data may be substituted for heading data, but will require the the vessel be underway and making way to produce valid COG. In the case of the latter, no AIS targets will be displayed when the vessel is not underway and making way.

I'm upgrading all my equipment and the only SeaTalk device left will be the SmartController Base Station. Everything else will be STng or NMEA2000. I will be using a SeaTalk-to-SeaTalkng convertor to connect the base station.

1. What is the LEN for the base station I should account for as I design a balanced SeaTalkng backbone?

2. The ferrite for the charging cable is missing. Where can I get a replacement for the correct one to use?

Thanks!

2 x Axiom Pro 12 RVX Connected to SeaTalkng

In a configuration where I have two Axiom Pro 12 RVX MFD's and one QC24 Quantum Radar all connected to a RayNet HS5 Switch... and all other devices are connected to a SeaTalkng backbone...

The sample designs I have seen, indicate only one of the Axiom Pro MFDs is connected to the SeaTalkng backbone where all other devices (iTC-5, MFIDs, EV-400, etc) are connected.

1. In such designs, the MFD connected to the SeaTalkng backbone must be POWERED ON for the other MFD to interact with the backbone, right?

2. Is it OK to connect both MFDs to SeaTalkng or will this cause issues?

I'm hoping this will allow me to turn either MFD on or off and still have full functionality from whichever MFD is powered up. Note: Both MFDs will have the same set of charts, so the charts are not an issue.

3. The Q24C Documentation says "a network switch can be used to connect the unit to more than 1 multifunction display" so I assume both MFDs can utilize/control the radar, even if one of the MFDs is powered off. Is this correct?

ST60+ Speed Instrument Compatibility w/ Airmar CS4500

$

Is the Airmar CS4500 speed/temp xdcr pin compatible with the ST800 speed/temp transducer? Can the ST60+ compute speed with the cs4500?

The CS 4500 measures down to 0.1knt versus 2knts for the ST800 and the EV-1 would perform even better on a sailboat with the CS4500.
Airmar brochure claims CS4500 has pulsed analog output like ST800 with about 2K more pulses per nm, but wanted to be sure before purchasing. It's expensive, but not needing to pull the st800 paddlewheel when the boat sits would be great. Raymarine does not appear to offer the CS4500 and that concerns me. Thanks, Dan

Good day. I just purchased an Axiom 9 with the 3d transducer.

I have 6 cameras ( analog/BNC out) that I need to convert from BNC to the cable end ( NMEA2000/Seatalk) for the hs5. I see the adapter in a pic with the raymarine 50 and 100 cameras. where can I find these?

thanks in advance.
