Should the items specified within the referenced FAQ have been addressed within your system, then the reported symptom is typically results from failure of one or more of the automatic route generation constraints. Should the items within the FAQ have been addressed within your system, then the reported symptom (i.e. a straight line drawn between the starting and ending waypoint) would be the result of failure of one or more of the following criteria:
• Automatic route generation can only be used when generating routes within the area covered by your compatible cartography. Routes are limited to 200 waypoints per route ... should the number of waypoints required to autoroute between the starting point and ending point exceed 200, then the reported symptom will occur.
• Automatic route generation can be used between waypoints less than 100 nm apart.
• Automatic route generation always uses the cartography’s minimum depth reading when calculating routes. Please refer to the Differences between automatic route generation functions section for further details.
• Automatic route generation will fail if the generated route will exceed the maximum waypoint or route capacity of the MFD.
• Automatic route generation will also fail if insufficient cartographic data is available.
• the route's starting point or ending point do not satisfy the minimum depth, width, and height constraints which have been specified for the boat details configuration settings
• the feature was unable to create a route satisfying the minimum depth, width, and height constraints which have been specified for the boat details configuration settings
When getting accustomed to the Dock to Dock Autorouting feature, it is recommended that customer's practice using the feature in deeper water before attempting create routes in shallow waters.
