[CA11] Dragonfly 4DVS not powering on

Hey, thanks for the add to the forum. I’ve been looking to find a fix for following:

Battery/volt test shows power getting all the way to the green plug before plugging into my dragonfly 4DVS screen. Pin 4 is fine and stayed at 12.8v but pin 5 started off at about 12.8v and then started a countdown. It literally just started dropping smoothly to 11 and then finally 10.X before I stopped testing. Im guessing that’s the issue but what’s the fix? And why is it doing that?

Thanks for any advice
Nelson

[CA11] AIS700 NMEA 0138 Connection

Dear Forum Manager,

I have recently acquired an AIS700 and is planning to transmit data to my MFD C90W via the NMEA 0138 port 1 on the AIS at 38,400 baud. In the manual and on the NMEA Cable the port numbers are not indicated but rather HI OUT and LO OUT. Which one corresponds to Port 1?

All the Best!

[DG11] Temperatur PGN 13026 implementation

I really hope for an update for the AXIOM / i70s displays, where the PGN 130316 (Temperature, Extended Range) will be implemented.
The background is the integration of existing N2K exhaust gas temperature sensors for visualization and alarming of the exhaust gas temperature on the engines data page of the MFD/ i70.
Exhaust gas temperature monitoring is by far the safest way to reliably monitor the rawwatercooling and some other important parameters of diesel engines.

Is there any real chance in near future?
I really like my Raymarine MFDs, but my engines are far more essential and expensive to. Otherwise I´d have no choice but to look for instrumentation that supports this.

With best regards from the island of Rügen

I have a transom mounted RV100 Transducer for my Axiom 9. The readings are perfect up to a little over 30MPH which I am fine with, the only problem is the spray from the transducer causes a pretty big t
rooster tail and continually splashes my motor. Does anyone know of a splas guard I can get to solve the problem?

[LW11] Airmar P19 for i40 depth

The Airmar P19 transducer, with its options (depth only, zero degrees tilt, bronze housing,) seems ideal for my application but is not on the "compatible transducer" list for my i40 depth instrument. Is there an unstated reason it cannot or should not be mated to the i40?

[CA11] Transducer Connection to Seatalkng

$

I am in planning stages of upgrading my old electronics to Seatalk ng system. As part of the system, I plan to utilize the DST800 smart transducer with an i70s instrument. I believe the DST800 comes with a 3m spur cable, which is hardwired at the transducer end and a female STng plug at other end. I will need more length then 3m to get to my STng 5-way connector located at the helm. The transducer will be one "end" of my STng network which needs to be properly terminated.
I believe I can use a backbone extension cable from the 5-way connector to get down to the transducer, then utilize either a T-connector or an in-line terminator to connect the transducer spur. If I use a T-connector, I will need a terminator plug. If I use the in-line terminator, I will not need this.
Am I on the right track? Are there better options?

[CA11] Autopilot Integration to Seatalkng

I've been studying the attached excellent diagram posted by another member and attempting to apply to my own planned setup. In my setup, the S2 autopilot and ST6001 will be the only legacy Seatalk components. Hence the connection from the S2 Autopilot to the ST6001 shown in the diagram is same as mine.
Q1: For my setup, may I connect the ST6001 seatalk "out" plug directly to the Seatalk-Seatalkng converter?
Q2: If I can, I assume that the red power wire at the Seatalk A terminal of the autopilot should be disconnected , correct?
Q3: Mainly for curiosity...in the diagram why isn't the ST6001 daisy chained to the other instruments in order to connect it to the Seatalk-Seatlkng converter?

[DG11] ST70 issues

I have a pair of ST70 installed in my system.

They both operate as instruments, receiving data from the bus as expected.
However, they both have shown up intermittently (rarely) on the STng bus, when interrogated by my i70 or Axiom Pro S plotter.

Any explanation/resolution gratefully received.

[CA11] Any Alternatives for G120 Display?

The G120 display is is about .8" taller than the C120 MDF that is currently mounted in the console. I can't go any larger in the height dimension which is 10.4" for the C120. I do have room to go wider. Are there any other options for a MFD that will fit in my console, connect to the GPM400 processor, and can be controlled with the remote keypad?
Thanks.

[DG11] Raymarine Dragonfly busted connection pins

Hey All,

Roughly four years ago I purchased a Dragonfly (Model #E70085). I'm usually not your every weekend fisherman. I go fishing about once a month and sometimes I can't even find the time to go fishing for months in a row. Around the second year into my warranty I noticed the unit went blank and didn't power up afterwards. Since it was the last trip of the year and my bilge and navigation lights had gone unresponsive as well, I figured there was something wrong with my boats' electric circuit and decided to fix the entire fusebox come next spring.

Last year I did so. But although my bilge and lights started working again, the display of my unit still did not respond when trying to power up. I turned the unit around a few times and checked for anything out of the ordinary. That's when I noticed the bottom connection pin was broken and the pins seemed quite corroded altogether. I called my distributor, who said that this sometimes happens when you often unplug the unit (I need to, because stuff often gets stolen), but because the connection pins are in the unit and not the cable, he could not do anything to help me out. I was offered to send in my unit which could be fixed for around €250,00. This, in my opinion, was too expensive because I haven't used the unit regularly. I'm always very careful with my electronics and take every precaution not to damage anything.

I decided to approach one of Raymarine's representatives at a December fishing event in Holland. When I told him about my issues he gave me a facepalm and told me that, unfortunately, there was little he could do to help me out.

This week I installed an old unit on to my boat, so I could at least see what's happening below the surface. That unit didn't work either and I found out I had a busted fuse. That gave me some hope that I had been wrong all along and the unit might still work. Today i tried whether the dragonfly worked with the fuse repaired. When installing it I did so with the utmost care, yet TWO more connection pins came crumbling out, making the total busted pins THREE! I'm truly wondering if there's somebody has a sollution to this issue? I've hardly used the unit compared to many other users out there, and I've had about six different units over the past 15 years. This never happened with any of them and I'm a bit disappointed about it happening the first time I've used Raymarine, which had been a quite satisfactory experience up untill now.

[DG11] Support for Poly-Planar marine stereo in Lighthouse

I own a Poly Planar MRD 87i IPX6 marine stereo with NMEA 2000 certification and would like to interface it with my Axion 9 MFD. It appears Lighthouse supports Rockford and Fusion marine stereo systems but i cannot find any reference to Poly-Planar. Is Poly-Planar supported, and if not are there plans to support it in the future?

[DG11] Evolution Autopilots - Legacy Rudder Reference

I searched all over, but no info on Rudder Reference transducers with two (2) wires.

Due to location, my (Robertson) rudder reference transducer is near impossible to swap out for my Evo AP upgrade. Will the ACU200 operate with a 2 wire rudder ref transducer (RF- and RF+ ) instead of a 4 wire type?

Thanks Chuck,

[CA11] axiom track to route conversion ?

axiom with latest dec 2018 sw, and navionics maps.

trying to convert a track (1126nm , 2238 points)
into a route (to be able to save it to navionics SD card)

when using axiom function to “convert track to route”
it saves a single route of only 61.88nm with 67 points.
(which happens to be the last 61.88nm of the overall track)

have tried multiple times - same result.

1) it appears this is the only way to export or save a track (created by axiom) to an external source?
the track can be hidden/shown and correctly displays on axiom chart.

2) pls advise if there is some limitation on the track to route conversion?
or is this a bug in sw?

[CA11] Dual transducer placement

$

I am looking into a new Axiom Pro 12RVX set up with the pair of RV220 transducers. My boat is a 23Seacraft CC I am assuming I need to run the pair of them because of the deadrise. Can anybody confirm?

My current setup is a C120W and C90W with a B60tilted transducer.

Right now the water inlet placement and the exiting B60 [censored] lines up port/starboard sides of the keel. Can I place the port transducer about 1 foot forward of the starboard with out any drop in image quality? I would like to reuse the B60 [censored] and move the second transducer forward of the water inlet.

[[CA11] Axiom MFD with Camino-108 AIS

$

I am upgrading my Raymarine electronics, and I have successfully installed the Axiom 9. I already had an Amec Camino-108S AIS transceiver and I am trying to integrate it with the Axiom.

I setup an seatalkng backbone, on one end I have the E22158 Seatalkng <-> seatalk 1 converter. Axiom is connected to E22158 via an NMEA 2000 to seatalk cable. At the other end of the backbone (separated by a 9m backbone cable) I have the A06064 5-way seatalkng connector. Camino-108S is connected to A06064 via an NMEA 2000 to seatalkng cable. setalkng network is powered from A06064.

E22158 is not connected to seatalk1 (ST50 instrument set and ST4000+ autopilot) just yet as I am trying to get the AIS working set up first.

AIS is working but it seems to be intermittent, ships are identified but they start flashing/blinking pretty soon afterwards. This happens for all AIS targets (tens of them) so it clearly is not about a target moving out of range or disappearing.

Rebooting the Axiom brings the targets back but the same problem happens again soon afterwards. I can connect to Camino-108S from the USB with my computer and see the AIS targets are active and new position records are received regularly.

I am a bit puzzled on why this happens and how to proceed. I am running v3.8.97 on the Axiom. Any suggestions on how to fix it or troubleshoot it further?

P.S. On a side note, I want to make sure I powered setalkng properly. Power cable has three connections. Positive and negative are obvious but I wasn't sure about the third one. I presume it is ground. Since I don't have a separate DC ground on my boat, I connected it to negative wire as well. Is that correct?

[CA11] Drive motor size?

I have a 1992 30' Grady White Marlin with twin Yam 225 4 strokes. Their steering rams are in parallel with a total 16.3 cubic inches.
I want to install a new EV-200 AP with a Type 1 drive motor. The drive motor max rating is 14 cubic inches.
I typically operate less than 30 kts and in moderate seas.

How will this EV-200 system perform with my configuration?

http://www.raymarine.com/trade-up-2019/?...mericas-us

“Earn $250 loyalty bonus if upgrading from existing Raymarine display (limit 2 loyalty bonuses per claim)”

My question is: do we need to spend $10,000 or more to qualify?

In another forum, some one said so, but my understanding is as long as you are owning a Raymarine product and buy an upgrade, you qualify for $250 rebate.

Thanks!
