[CA11]Autopilot S3G AST

Can the S3G AST connect to a Seatalk NG network? if yes, what components do I need to purchase, can the new P70 connect with it? I'm trying to upgrade my Seatalk to seatalk ng via ITC5 and new i70 multifunction displays. I do have E-120 display multifunction ,I was told that with the seatalk to seatalk ng converter it can work on the ng network? do I need new GPS antenna as well?

[CA11] NAV398 GPS/LORAN Sensor Replacement

Our 1999 SeaRay 310 Sundancer has a Raytheon NAV398 GPS/LORAN with an external sensor mounted on the radar arch. The protective cowling on the sensor completely disintegrated when I removed the shrink wrap this spring. Is there a GPS sensor available that is compatible with this display head?

Alternatively, is there a newer display head and sensor combo that would fit existing cutouts with little modification?

Thank you.

[CA11] ST 60 Tridata Speed Indication INOP

My RayData M78879 display installed in our 1999 Searay 310 Sundancer failed last year, and unable to find an exact replacement, I replaced the failed instrument with an ST60 Tridata Instrument. The depth indication seems accurate but the ST60 will not display speed.

The parts manual for our boat indicates the following transducers are installed:

933853 TRANSDUCER, DEPTH RETRACTABLE VALOX RAYDATA
933861 TRANSDUCER, SPEED SELF SEALING VALOX RAYDATA

Do I also need to replace the depth and speed transducers for proper operation of the ST60? The ST60 Operator Manual specifies an M78712 speed transducer and either a M78713 or M78718 depth transducer for a fiberglass hull.

If so, are the new transducers compatible with the existing thru-hull fittings, or will those need to be replaced also?

Thanks!

[CA11] Upgrading C90W

Hello,

I bought a boat last year with older Raymarine electronics. C90W/DSM30/Airmar P66. It has been decent, but I do occasionally have issues with it. I am considering upgrading the unit and I have a compatibility question. Can I replace the C90W with an e127 and continue to use the DSM30 & Airmarr P66 transducer? If that IS an option, will I get full functionality from the e127? Final question, the c90W is dash-mounted(flush mounted), will the e127 fit in the current cutout with minimal modification or an adapter bezel/frame?

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Is this a big problem? I had a million things to do during launch and neglected to put the metal clip in to the short arm windvane. What does the clip do? Is it extra support?

Appreciate the help. Mark

[CA11] Lost Track History / (Breadcrumb Trails

I am hoping you might be able to point me in the right direction. I have an E127 (2014 version I believe). When we got hte boat fired up this year I seemed to have lost all of my tracks. (Breadcrumbs of where I have gone over the last couple of years). I can still see all of my waypoints. When riding I see the boat icon but not a tracking or (breadcrumb trail behind it). I am hoping it is a setting that must be turned off somehow? Any suggestions? Thank you very much for the help.

[DG11] Depth alarm on i70s can only be set in steps of 1 meter

Hi,
I just installed a i70s display and wanted to set a depth alarm to 1.4m. But i can only set the alarms to full meters (1, 2, 3, etc.).
Is there a possibility to set the alarm to the decimal level?

Its a nice display but a depth alarm on full meters will be practically unusable for many boats i guess.

If setting the alarm to the decimal level is not possible, will you consider building this in the next software version?

Kind regards,
Bram.

Good Day,

I have recently purchased a vessel which included the Raymarine E 80 multifunction nerwork including the remote keyboard w/SeaTalk2.
The keypad power light/backlite remains on when the head unit is off and remains lit when the power button on the keypad is depressed. Is this the normal state of the keypad?

Thank you.

[DG] eS75 dual MicroSD chart cards

Hi, I have been running my MFD on the Ireland/UK/Holland charts for the past few moths without issue.
I am running on Navionics charts.
Last weekend I bought the Central and western euRopE charts and inserted the second Micro SD and the MFD immediately picked it up and dropped UK/ireland chart. I could only get back the UK/ireland charts by swapping around the Micro SD cards. When I went to setting to select chart it was only giving me option of one Navionics charts when I think its here I should have the option to swap?
Thanks,
Michael

What is needed to enable the new i70 to communicate with the transducer from the ST60?

[DG] Replacing St-60

My ST-60 masthead wind, arm-vane blew off in a storm last month in the Gulf of Mexico. I am trying to think thru a replacement but want to be prepared if the damage is to the masthead side of the arm-vane. If the masthead side is damaged what part do I need? What's a good test to see that I am getting the appropriate signal from masthead to instrument? Short arm or long? It was long before. What's the difference?-mike t

[DG] Adding STng devices to backbone

$

I have an a65 MFD with a SeaTalkng connection to an i50 tridata display via a five way connector strip which has the power supply cable occupying the third white socket. Both blue terminators are in place.

I also have an i60 wind which is connected to an ST2000+ autopilot via Seatalk 1 (yellow wire) to feed wind direction for sailing to a wind angle. These two have a separate common 12V supply feed.

In order to have the ST2000+ steer to track data from the a65 MFD, I plan to disconnect the SeaTalk 1 link and connect the i60 to the SeaTalkng network, adding an Actisense NGW1 to convert SeaTalkng track data to NMEA 0183 to feed to the ST2000+. The ST2000 will remain separately powered, and the i60 now powered from the STng network.

My question is this:

all three white sockets on the backbone are occupied, so can I connect the i60 to the second white socket on the i50 and the STng power to the second white socket on the i60, or some variation on that theme? This would avoid having to fit a second five way connector and a blue backbone cable. Or could I use the blue sockets to connect devices?

In essence I'm asking if STng devices can be daisy chained once or do they have to be individually spurred off the backbone? All devices are within a few feet of each other.

Many thanks

Paul

Can I use mn30 display to calibrate the mast rotation transducer

$
0
0
The mn30 Wind display can not calibrate the Mast Rotation Sensor and cannot be used with the MRS. The calibration has to be undertaken with an mn100 Digital or Remote.

The Micro-Talk Puck can be used to interface to an EV1 heading sensor and this will be used to feed heading data to the Micro-Talk wireless system and in turn used to compare with the MRS data to offset the wind vane for mast rotation.

The p70 does not use Mast Rotation and cannot Calibrate the MRS, although it will use the corrected wind angle data. None of the products on the Seatalk NG side of the Micro-Talk can calibrate the MRS. This has to be done on a Wireless Digital display or Remote as above.

The calibration of the Mast Rotation Sensor is part explained in the MRS Instruction document and then points to the Compass calibration. This involves fixing the mast in its central position and then entering compass calibration and following the instruction for compass calibration from the mn100 or Remote handbook.

[CA11] Getting a no transducer connected on my A128

I have an A128 that is about 4 years old but has been stored inside for the last 2 years. I have a CP200, along with a CPT200 and CPT100 hooked to it. The A128 has been used very little, and has been handled carefully. I am in the process of buying another boat and I am trying to make sure it is working correctly before I put it on the new boat, so I am testing it while not on a boat. when all is hooked up, I am getting a "no transducer connected" message. It does allow me to choose between the CP200 or internal sounder. Even when I disconnect the CP200 from the A128, it isn't recognizing the CPT200. I am comfortable that all power cables are tight and connected to a strong battery. All cables are connected correctly to the A128 and CP200. My guess is the problem isn't with the CP200 since the problem still exists when the CP200 in not connected. I happened to have a new in the box CP200 and CPT200. Nothing changed when I hooked the new ones up. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
