es128 setup doesn't see ST-60 Instruments

$

I've just finished the installation of a new es128 MFD on my sailboat. I want it to display data from an ST-60+ Tridata and an ST-60 wind machine. The two older Sea Talk instruments are connected to a ST to STng converter and that is connected to the MFD. When I attempt to set the data selection on the MFD I get the following error message: "The following devices are preventing data source selection E22158-Sea Talk STNG converter S/N:0651037. Please see user manual for details."
What does this mean and should I do?

Thanks,

Steve

Ray70 Hailer

Recently installed a Ray70 VHF with 2nd Station Mic on a power boat with flybridge.

Ray70 is at the lower helm with the 2nd Station Mic on the flybridge. The hailer horn is mounted directly on the front of the flybridge which is in front of the helm.

The Ray70 is also connected to external speakers split between lower helm (passive) and flybridge (active speaker).

Everything works correctly, however using the hailer function from the 2nd Station mic immediately causes loud feedback. The lower helm mic works correctly when keyed. The 2nd station mic is approximately 4-6 feet directly behind and above the hailer horn when being used.

Is there any remedy to correcting the feedback issue with the hailer horn when keying the 2nd station mic? I feel like it should be far enough away from the hailer to not interfere but this is the only practical location to mount the mic.

DCS interface to MFD

I have a Ray 240 installed and eSeries MFD's....I read in the manual that upon a DCS notification, it would highlite on the MFD and then you can goto vessel etc.
I wired the Ray 240 via NMEA 0183 to the MFD as the Ray 240 doesn't have NMEA2000 compatibility.

For some reason, it won't work and have tried everything over the last couple of years....are there particular settings I should validate on the MFD--i.e. BAUD rate on the input to MFD etc? Will the DCS interface not work with NMEA 0183 connections?

adding SPX-10 to e127

My current setup is an e127 and e125 networked through both STNG and STHS. I have limited dash space to place both displays listed above and the ST70 control head. Is it possible to commission the autopilot while temporarily adding the ST70 control head to the STNG, remove it after commissioning, and then controlling the autopilot through the e127 or e125?

Thank you in advance

Display is not responding to memory card with software update files within its reader

The most common mistake in updating product software is to copy the downloaded zip file directly to the microSD memory card. Instead, the software update instructions call for downloading the update zip file containing the software update files to your computer and then open the zip file (appears like a folder Windows 8 and 10). Within the zip file, you will find a number of files which must all be selected, copied, and then pasted into the memory card's root level directory (i.e. not within any folders created on the memory card).

Should the memory card be inserted into the display's memory card reader, the display then be switched ON, and the display then boot up normally rather than perform a software update, then it is possible that the display's memory card reader may have suffered a failure. The display's memory card reader may be tested by replacing the software update card with a compatible chart card and then attempting to view detailed cartography via the display's Chart applications. Alternatively, the display's memory card reader may be tested by attempting to capture the display's screen image or attempting to export waypoints stored within the display's memory to the memory card containing the software update files. Should the display report that it was successful in performing either of these actions, then the display's memory card reader would be deemed to be operational. However, should the display report that it was unsuccessful in performing either of these actions, then the display's memory card reader would be deemed to have suffered a failure, necessitating that it be serviced by Raymarine’s Product Repair Center.

Viewing video from multiple video sources on an a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD

$

As the a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs are not designed to share video from NTSC/PAL video sources among a network of a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs and these MFDs will accept video input from, at most, two NTSC/PAL video sources, it is generally recommended that those having more than one MFD and/or those having more than two video sources to be viewed on these MFDs consider installation of compatible IP cameras (ex. CAM200IP, etc.) rather than NTSC/PAL video cameras (ex. CAM100, CAM50, etc.). The MFDs would typically be interfaced to an Ethernet network switch(es) (ex. HS5 RayNet Network Switch, etc.) which would in turn be interfaced to the IP cameras.

The 9", 12", and 16" e-Series MFDs feature a single NTSC/PAL video input BNC (F) plug on their respective Power/NMEA 0183/Video Input Cable. An accessory cable (part #R70003) is available to support an additional NTSC/PAL video input to the e-Series MFDs. The 9" and 12" eS-Series MFDs feature a single NTSC/PAL video input BNC (F) plug on their respective Power/NMEA 0183/Video Input Cable. An accessory cable (part #R70414) is available to support an additional NTSC/PAL video input to the eS-Series MFDs. The gS-Series MFDs feature a single NTSC/PAL video input BNC (F) plug on their respective Power/NMEA 0183/Video Input Cable and an additional NTSC/PAL video input on their Video IN/Alarm Cable. Should the vessel be equipped with more than two NTSC/PAL video sources which one would desire to view on and a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD(s), then a third party NTSC/PAL video switch/amplifier would typically be installed. Another option would be to consider installation of a compatible third party NTSC/PAL to IP video encoder(s) to bridge the video signal from each camera into an single IP video source or from multiple cameras into a single IP video source. The latter has been successfully demonstrated using an AXIS P7214 Video Encoder.

Evolution EV-100 Wheel pilot system

$

Hello Chuck,

Well I saved up over a grand and bought the new Evolution EV-100 Wheel pilot system....

I am now in the planning stages of Wheel system installation.

First off,....I will be removing the following-

ST4000+ Control panel/Computer (helm mounted)
Mark 2 Wheel Drive
Compass Sensor

I also have a Seatalkng converter installed in the system (as shown in the diagram) in support of communication of my ST60 Instruments to the e7 MFD.

If memory serves, I dont think I used the 2 Blue network connections on this unit.

With the evolution system, I see there is a Seatalkng 5 way hub.

Wondering how I would make the connection with the existing Seatalkng converter to the 5 way hub?..., or does this converter get completely removed? (as I think I read in one of your posts)

Thank in advance.....

E165 Depth sounder doesn't fill in

After one of the updates the depth sounder would show open space generally under the floor level and while it is not anything critical it is a bit annoying.

Does anybody know if this has been corrected with the latest software fixes?

I just installed a new es78 MFD and bidata i40 instrument. The depth sounder is working, but no speed or temp. Before I installed the new equipment, I ensured the old Tridata instrument functions were all working, speed, depth and temp. I tried to go to the set up screen for transducers and search for the transducers and I receive this error message.

AP/MFD Interference

$

I recently installed a C127 and Evolution Auto Pilot (ACU-100, Type 0.5 Pump, and EV-1). I am using a P66 (50/200 kHz) transducer. The C127, ACU-100, and AP Pump are mounted inside the fiberglass console of my Edgewater 225 EX. The console is perhaps 3-feet wide by 1-foot deep. The C127 is mounted in the middle of the dash; the ACU-100 is mounted on the right sidewall of the console, while the Type 0.5 pump is mounted on the left sidewall of the console. The C127 and ACU-100 are mounted at the same height, while the Type 0.5 Pump is approximately 1.5 to 2.0 feet lower than the C127. The C127 and ACU-100 are wired to separate switches on a 12V Blue Sea Systems WeatherDeck switch panel that is also on the front face of the console. The 12V SeaTalk ng power cable that is connected to my SeaTalk ng 5-way connector is wired to the same switch as my C127. The transducer cable enters the console from the right lower side. When operating the Auto Pilot and when using the 200kHz mode, there is a distinct vertical interference line that shows up every time the Type 0.5 pump engages to steer the boat. I would like to know if this is possibly due to the C127 and AP being wired into the same switch panel (but different switches) or could it possibly be from EM interference from the 12V power cables to the Type 0.5 Pump being in proximity to the transducer cable. I do not see the same interference when using the 50 kHz mode. Given the small space behind the console, are there ways to shield the transducer and/or power cables from one another?

Where can I locate my MFD's Wi-Fi name and password

$

To view an a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD's Wi-Fi name and passphrase, Wi-Fi security type, and Wi-Fi passphrase, it is first necessary to configure the MFD's Wi-Fi communications circuitry ON (HOME->SET-UP->WIRELESS CONNECTIONS->WI-FI->WI-FI->ON).
- To view an a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD's Wi-Fi name use the command sequence HOME->SET-UP->WIRELESS CONNECTIONS->WI-FI->WI-FI SHARING->WI-FI NAME.
- To view an a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD's Wi-Fi security type or change the type of Wi-Fi security employed by the MFD, use the command sequence HOME->SET-UP->WIRELESS CONNECTIONS->WI-FI->WI-FI SHARING->WI-FI SECURITY.
- To view an a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD's Wi-Fi passphrase, use the command sequence HOME->SET-UP->WIRELESS CONNECTIONS->WI-FI->WI-FI SHARING->WI-FI PASSPHRASE.

Hi,

I want to add AIS data to my e7 chartplotter/multi-function display. I have a non-Raymarine VHF (Icon M504) and I need some help understand what I will need to add this function to my e7.

Any help or advice where to look would be appreciated.

PS: This is for a 41' cruising sailboat, so my goal is the keep the cost down too!

I have 3 gs165 displays, one of my problems is that my SR150 Sirius Weather is not being shown on the device list under diagnostics thus I am unable to get my Device ID to sign my device up to the Sirius service. I receive audio thru my Fusion 750, should I use that radio ID for the Weather service also?
