Each time that a Raymarine a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD is powered ON, a Limitations of Use message is displayed and must be acknowledged by the operator before being able to proceed with use of the product. In older Raymarine MFDs, Chartplotters, and GPS Displays, a Navigational Warning message is displayed and must be acknowledged by the operator before being able to proceed with use of the product. In the lower right hand corner of the message, the currently installed version of software for that product will be displayed.

Should an a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD be powered ON and the Limitations of Use dialog have already been acknowledged, then the user may also access information concerning the currently installed version of a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD software via the following command sequence: HOME->SET-UP->MAINTENANCE->DIAGNOSTICS->SELECT DEVICE. Should all of the system's equipment be powered ON and this same command sequence be executed on the system's Data Master MFD, then the MFD will list each of the devices which have been interfaced via Ethernet (SeaTalkhs/RayNet) or SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 to the system. This list will also include the version of software installed within each Ethernet or SeaTalkng/NMEA 2000 device. More detailed product information may be displayed by selecting the SHOW ALL option from the Select Device list.

Raymarine's latest generation of Multifunction Instrument Displays (i70) and Autopilot Control Heads (p70, p70R) are designed to list devices (MENU->SET-UP->SELECT->DIAGNOSTICS->SELECT->ABOUT SYSTEM->SELECT->CONTINUE) which have been interfaced to the SeaTalkng/NMEA 2000 backbone and report the report the respective version of software each device device (Select/highlight device within displayed Devices List->SELECT).
Raymarine's a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs were designed to be updated using commonly available microSD memory cards. The maximum size a microSD memory cards which may be used with Raymarine's a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs is 32GB. Raymarine's C/E-Series Widescreen MFDs were designed to be updated using commonly available CF memory cards. The maximum size a microSD memory cards which may be used with Raymarine's C/E-Series Widescreen MFDs is likewise 32GB. Raymarine's A/C/E-Series Classic MFDs were designed to be updated using CF memory cards which had been commonly available when these products were manufactured. The maximum size a microSD memory cards for updating these MFD is 128MB. However, should one not already possess a CF memory card which have proven compatible in previously updating one's A/C/E-Series Classic MFD, then it is STRONGLY recommended that Radar Marine (360.733.2012) be contacted to order a CF memory card and to request that that CF memory card be populated with the latest software for the MFD that is owned. Until recently, MFD and Chartplotting products introduced prior to the C-Series Classic MFDs (2003) could be updated by Raymarine's Product Repair Center ... this service is no longer available for these long retired products.
Most Raymarine products featuring an Ethernet or SeaTalkng interface are designed to be updated via the system's Data Master a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD, Data Master C/E-Series Widescreen MFD, or Data Master E-Series Classic MFD. With the exception of SR50 Sirius Satellite Weather/Radio Receivers, the C-Series Classic MFDs cannot update the software of any other products.
