The cone angle of the CHIRP (conical) transducer element of CPT-S Transducers and combination CHIRP (conical) / DownVision transducers designed to be mated to the TRANSDUCER socket of an ax8 MFD, eSx8 MFD, a CP100 CHIRP (conical) / DownVision Sonar Module, and Dragonfly products is 25 degrees. The diameter of the cone at any depth may be computered using some basic trigonometry:

[Image: attachment.php?aid=788]

b = tan (B) x a

Cone Radius = tan (Transducer Cone Angle / 2) x Depth
Cone Diameter = 2 x Cone Radius = 2 x tan (Transducer Cone Angle / 2) x Depth

Cone Diameter = 2 x tan (Cone Angle / 2) x Depth
Cone Diameter = 2 x tan (25 deg / 2) x Depth
Cone Diameter = 2 x tan (12.5 deg) x Depth
Cone Diameter = 2 x 0.2217 x Depth
Cone Diameter = 0.44338 x Depth

Cone Diameter at Bottom = 0.44338 x 100' = 44.34'
Cone Diameter at the Depth of Marked Fish = 0.44338 x 30' = 13.30'

The A-Scope feature of the supported by these products will also report the cone diameter at the bottom of the water column beneath the transducer.
