Good day,
1) Is it possible to see on my sonar the thermocline area? would it show a grey line or something in different color?

2 ) if yes, can I see it by using the automatic setting or It is mandatory to increase the gain to see such details?

thanks again for your support!

Lost depth function on RL70Cplus

I have a 2004 Parker with a RL70Cplus display with DSM250 sounder module and GPS and radar functions. The boat has been drydocked since Sandy but now repairs are done. When I turned on display there was no depth function selection. The GPS and radar work fine. I have reset the RL70C and have played with the DSM to no avail. I restarted the DSM module and it has a green light indicating all is well. When I first looked at the module one of the cables was off, I believe the hsb cable but they are all plugged in and I get a green light. Any suggestions where the problem may lie?? Thanks

I am attempting to update a new E127 from the 16.47 version. The mfd refuses to acknowledge the SD card. I have switched positions in the card slots, and the results are the same.
Does anyone have any similar experiences or thoughts ?

No fishfinder option with Hsb2 Pathfinder Series Radar/Chartplotter Display

No fishfinder option with hsb2 Pathfinder Series Radar/Chartplotter Display

In order for a hsb2 Pathfinder Series Radar or Chartplotter Display to support fishfinder features, it must be interfaced to a hsb2 Pathfinder Series Fishfinder Display or to a DSM250/30/300 which in turn has been interfaced via hsb2 communications protocol to a compatible fishfinder transducer.

The first step in troubleshooting the subject problem when the system features a DSM would be to ensure that the DSM's Status LED is illuminated and green. If so, then the problem would be rooted in communications between the display and the DSM. the DSM's Status LED is not illuminated, then the DSM would either not be receiving power power via its power cable or would have suffered an internal circuitry failure. Unfortunately, should a fault be found within the DSM, then the DSM would need to be replaced with a second hand DSM, as Raymarine can no longer provide parts and service for DSM250/30/300 Digital Sounder Modules. Should the DSM's Status LED be illuminated and not be green, then its color and flash code should be compared to the table below.

The following troubleshooting steps should be undertaken when troubleshooting hsb2 communications. The diagrams provided below address how hsb2 communications protocol would be used to interface hsb2 Pathfinder Series Displays to one another and/or to a DSM250 respectively.

- Verify that all Pathfinder Series Displays are equipped with hsb2 communications circuitry

- Verify that the hsb² network is properly terminated (i.e. 2 hsb2 inline termination plugs only and that these hsb2 inline termination plugs have been installed within the two displays or the display and DSM250 forming the ends of the hsb2 daisy chain (See diagram below). If a DSM30 or DSM300 fishfinder sounder module has been installed, then the DSM should be installed at one end of the hsb2 daisy chain. The DSM250 requires a hsb2 Inline Termination Plug, while the DSM30 and DSM300 are internally terminated. If the display's hsb2 port is gray, then no hsb2 inline termination plug has been installed in the display's port. If the display's hsb2 port is black, then you are looking are the male end of a hsb2 inline termination plug.

- Verify that the hsb2 inline termination plug has been removed from any display into which a hsb2 Y-Cable has been inserted (see diagram above)

- Verify that all hsb cables are securely seated and have proper strain relief

- Verify that there are no damaged hsb cables by visually inspecting and performing continuity tests

- Verify that the hsb cable(s) have not been subjected to excessively small radius bends (<6 inch diameter). Subjecting these cables to excessively tight bends can permanently damage the cables. Excess cable should be loosely coiled and secured to a bulkhead

- If the system contains more than 2 hsb² nodes, attempt fault isolation to identify the faulty component (i.e. connect 2 nodes at time to verify communications between the two nodes)

- Verify that no more than 2 C-Map SW+ regions are being served on the hsb² network.

- Perform resistance tests and continuity tests of the hsb² components:
-- Terminators (uninstalled from hsb² port): 120 +/- 2 ohms across the HSVB_POS & HSVB_NEG pins (see diagram above)
-- Pathfinders (power off): 2200 +/- 50 ohms across the HSVB_POS & HSVB_NEG pins ... should results differ, then the display's hsb2 communications circuitry has failed.
--Terminators (installed): values should drop by approximately 5 ohms from the value measured prior to installation ... should results differ, then the display's hsb2 communications circuitry has failed.
-- For multiple display systems, with the system's hsb² displays reconnected to the hsb² network and the Pathfinder PC disconnected from the hsb² network, measure the resistance of the network through the hsb² cable:

Displays.......... Resistance

1____________114

2____________108

3____________103

4____________99

5____________94

6____________90

7____________87

8____________84

- For maximum system performance, verify that all Pathfinder Series Displays have v4.11 software installed within them ... please note that Raymarine's Product Repair Center can no longer update the software within these hsb2 Pathfinder Series Displays

Unfortunately, should one or more of the displays or DSM have failed hsb2 communications circuitry, then it must be replaced with a second hand instance of the same product, as Raymarine's Product Repair Center can no longer service these displays.

flir M132 and E97 MFD

I saw the new Flir camera coming out that shows you objects in the water ahead of your boat such as other boats, buoys, etc. It works with an Axiom display from the video and info I have read. Can I hook it up to my 2014 E97 MFD chart plotter and GPS that came with my 2014 Monterey 340 SY by any chance. I also have the 18" HD radar unit but the video of the camera looks so much better at identifying things versus the radar. I was hoping I would not have to spend the money on another display and could use my E97. Thanks for any info.

Is there any updates planned for these applications? The newer phones such as the Samsung S7 Edge are not listed in supported apps and the app crashes when trying to connect to my ES128. Just curious if there are any updates planned in the near future?
Thanks,
Brett

Compatibility of FLIR M100 & M200 Series cameras with a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs

FLIR maritime fixed mount thermal cameras introduced prior to the FLIR M100 & M200 Series thermal cameras relied upon an analog video interface to share thermal camera video and color low light camera video with compatible MFDs and monitors. The LightHouse II software for Raymarine's a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs, as well as software for Rayamrine's retired E-Series Widescreen MFDs and G-Series systems, is exclusively designed to support integration with Raymarine T-Series and FLIR M-Series and MD-Series fixed mount thermal cameras having an analog video interface. Unlike the FLIR maritime fixed mount thermal cameras which preceded the FLIR M100 & M200 Series thermal camera's, command, control, and video imagery transmission are all communicated through the camera's Ethernet communications interface. Following the release and subsequent installation of LightHouse 3 software for the a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs, these MFDs will feature support for FLIR's M100 & M200 Series thermal cameras.

E80 Classic and Evolution Autopilot

I have an E80 Classic that is hooked directly to my DSM300 through the Seatalkhs port. I also have an S1000 autopilot that I'd like to upgrade to an Evolution autopilot. I believe the Evolution autopilot could use the Seatalkhs port that the DSM300 is currently using, but I want to keep the sonar unit as well. What extra hardware/wiring do I need to purchase to get the Evolution autopilot to interface with my E80 Classic so GPS data can be shared and to keep my DSM300 active (part numbers would be nice)? Or maybe this can't really be done with my E80 classic. If I can't connect through Seatalkhs, what do you suggest to get GPS data to the Evolution autopilot? I'm assuming I need GPS data for the Evolution autopilot to go to run trolling patterns.

Thank you.

Hello Chuck-
I have the ES128 new install - tried it out for the first time today on the water. A couple of questions:

1: I have the GA150 external GPS Antenna - I have been trying to figure out how to have the MFD make the GA150 the primary antenna?

2: I turned on the community edits for the display - I would actually like to remove them from the screen. I tried turning them off but they are still visible.

Thanks,
Brett

E120 Classic upgrade to Axiom 12

Hello Chuck, I am new here and want to thank you for your work and responses.
) I want to upgrade my E120 Classic and was wondering how the new Axiom 12 will fit into the existing cut out for my E120? Is there a upgrade bezel available if the sizing if different?
2) I plan on using my existing DSM300 and B744V transducer for the time being until the new transducers become available. It sounds as though the new RV transducer will be best suited for fishing/trolling. Would I keep the existing transducer (50/200) and add a second for the RV? Would I continue to use the DSM300? Will the two transducers work together and would I then mount the new through hull on the opposite side of the hull (currently the B744V is mounted on the starboard side)?
3) I assume that the new transducers will be available in several different through hull configurations to conform to most conventional boat bottoms i.e. flat, 12 degree, 20 degree both port/starboard?
Thanks again,

Upgrade E120 Classic to Axiom 12

I want to upgrade my E120 classic but have several questions regarding the new Axiom 12 RV.
1) I will be using my DSM300 and B744V transducer for the time being. When the new Axiom 12 RV transducers become available will they mostly be used for fishing/trolling at slower speeds? I have read mixed reviews of what might be coming.
2) Would I continue to use my DSM300 and B744 transducer with the 50/200 and mount a second RV through hull transducer?
Thanks in advance for your response!

Axiom Sailboat Transducer

We have purchased a new Axiom 9" for our 1995 Gozzard 36 Sailboat. We are having a difficult time understanding which through-hull transducer to purchase to get the full use or our new Axiom?

The attached photos show the location of the existing transducer which is were we would like to place the new one. It appears there is very little deadrise at the location. The existing transducer is part of a 1995 Autohelm ST50 Plus suite.

Please advise which transducer or transducer options we need to complete our new system.

Thank you,
Addison

EV 200 will not recognize rudder reference

$

On my new out of box system pack EV 200, the equipment will just not give me any rudder information even though we have the rudder sensor mounted and wired properly. It acts just like there is none installed in the system. All the software on the EV-1, PR70Rs and EV200 is up to date and the latest available. The pilot is installed on a 30 ft. twin engine inboard boat. The pump is a Type 1. Everything else seems to work fine.

When I use the dockside set up wizard on the PR70Rs I can get prompted for boat type and drive type, but then it just displays the values for a preset rudder angle (the 30 degrees) and pre set hard over times. No way, no how can I get it to give me the option to set up the rudder alignments (hard over port, starboard and to center the rudder). It skips over that part completely and goes straight to checking if the pump moves the rudder to port and starboard which mine does just fine. I have nothing on the displays rudder indicator bar either. I tried a factory reset but no difference.

After spending time on the Raymarine’s forums I saw Chucks instructions on how to check the rudder sensor > http://forum.raymarine.com/showthread.php?tid=95 He says that it should be:

Red to Green: 5K Ohms (+/- 10%) Steady
Red to Blue: Variable no less than 1.5K no more than 3.5K as the wheel is spun hardover to hardover.
Blue to Green: Variable no less than 1.5K no more than 3.5K as the wheel is spun hardover to hardover.

*The Red to Blue and Blue to Green may not go all the way to 1.5K or up to 3.5K, but whatever either is at midships, the deflection should be about equal to either direction(i.e. midships 2.5K if it goes up to 3.1K, it should go down to around 1.8)

Mine tests out to be:
Red to green is 4.86
Red to blue is 1.5 (center) and 1.2 hardover to port & 1.8 hardover to starboard
Blue to green is 3.3 (center) and 3.7 hardover to port & 3.0 hardover to starboard

Seems like the blue to green is ever so slightly out of value. I am at a loss as how to proceed. Thanks, Walt

I understand that they now recommend that the cpt 200 be mounted higher than a normal skimming transducer. Will it hurt/overheat the transducer if it is totally out of the water at high speed?

See my crude diagram for more info

MFD Drain wire

$

I have searched the forum and FAQ's before initiating this question.
I am installing an a125 MFD which I believe has a drain wire. From the forum answers I was expecting to see a bare wire for the RF drain (as did my old Pathfinder plotter). The supplied cable(s) are all insulated. There is a small black insulated wire similar in size to the NMEA wires which seems to me to be the drain wire.
Is this correct or does my model not have a drain?

Many thanks.

eS128 Spontaneous restart using a vector chart.

I installed the Lighthouse chart "NOAA Vector - Hawaii Pacific" on my eS128. When I zoom into the entrance of Pearl Harbor, the screen turns white and repaints several times, then the system reboots. The system software is at v17.46; I downloaded the chart twice. The reboot occurs every time I zoom into the entrance of Pearl Harbor. I also have the Lighthouse chart "NOAA Vector - Pacific Southwest" with no problems. I assume there is a bug in the Hawaii vector and also the system fails to trap the error.

I really like the Lighthouse Vector charts because they are easy to read, are small in size and have adjustable color thresholds for depth.

I´m trying to conect an ST70 autopilot head control unit (replacing a broken ST6002) with my SPX5 course computer in a vesel, using a Seatalk NG to Sea Talk adaptor cable, conecting ST70 Seatalk ng port to ST60 SeaTalk port, (based on the squema provided in the ST70 Installation Guide for SeaTalk networks) but neither ST60 nor ST70 powers up. Could you help me please?
